this. it doesn't look like a great movie by any stretch of the imagination but lets consider the top 20 movies last year $$$ wise:

1. Avatar- remake of smurfs (characters )and the last of the mohicans (plot)
2. Transformers 2- sequel from a movie based on an action figure/cartoon created in 1984
3. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Queer: 7th sequel (give or take) based on some book.
4. New Moon- sequel based on some gay book
5. Up- decently original...
6. The Hangover- decently original...
7. Star Trek- ummm wasn't this the 12th star trek movie?
8. The Blind Side- based on a book
9. Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squekel- sequel based off an old cartoon
10. Sherlock Holmes: movie about a character created in 1887
11. Monsters vs Aliens: looks like a generic kids movie, never saw it but probably the same premise as 100 other movies
12. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: sequel
13. X-Men Origins: Wolverine: sequel of a comic book character created in 1974
14. Night at the Museum 2: sequel
15. 2012- typical disaster movie a la armegeddon, independence day, deep impact
16. the proposal- generic, sh*tty romantic comedy
17. fast and furious: 4th (or so) movie in a series
18. GI Joe: Rise of Cobra: movie based on action figure from 1964
19. paul blart: mall cop- generic fat guy comedy, heist situation
20. taken- good movie, but its not an original premise at all

so basically out of the top 20 movies last year, the only movies with original premises are Up! and the Hangover... and even then I can probably find elements of those that aren't original.

so yeah... the human centipede looks weird... but at least its original (now someone is gonna prove me wrong and say some obscure movie that has the same plot... dammit)

The guy and first girl are going to get it rough. When the first shit comes out, it will get forced down her mouth and she is going to force all back up. Some vomit (hydrochloric acid is a component) is inevitably going up his ass-crack. The vomit gets forced down her throat while she is throwing up, and I can envision asphyxiation of some sort.

The hangover wasnt that original, it was "dude wheres my car" except the car was the groom, and the aliens were japanese mobsters

The doctor explains that he is a world renowned expert at separating conjoined twins, but dreams of creating new beings that share a single digestive system by joining separate individuals via their mouths and anuses. what disturbs me alot is that alot of people are simply unable to appreciate horror films these days, period. most idiots go into every horror film and no matter how horrible, scray, effectively done and disturbing a film is they will force all this pretend laughter as if they have to prove to everyone they are not taken in by the film. that is imo even worse than buying into crap films (i.e being moved by ott melodrama). there is nothing that can be done in horror that people will admit they are shocked by. this kind of reaction also shows an inability to engage with film, not to be confused with rising above something.

i read about this film a few days ago, it has been very well recieved at alot of festivals, yes it looks absoloutly demented and the surgeon looks like a real nazi caricature- but a well played one. there is no doubt this film will not be going for laughs, just the scenario and how its played on the surface should tell you that. i foresee one of the most unplesant and unsettling device horror films of recent times and i actually think this will be very well done. naturally the plot makes you wonder if their is twisted humour in the film but i really think that isnt what this film is going for or will achieve.

I see this film being more of a "cult classic" than anything else.
