He just didn't say that. He was slurping LeBron to the max. hopefully it goes up on youtube or something. Like Mike Wilbon was like calm down Magic. I was laughing, wasn't expecting him to go so hard.

Me too, I don't even know why people bother with this anymore.

It's worn out, you barely even see the puppet commercials anymore.

But I know how Magic (and pretty much any analyst) can get when they are speaking about how perfect they think Lebron is.....

What is it about him that seems to make people lose control over themselves?

I remember when Mark Jackson said Lebron should've been Finals MVP just because he took that 07 Cavs team to the Finals or something like that.

Despite not winning the series or even one game. SMH...

The reason why JORDAN doesnt like LEBRONZE is because LEBRONZE called himself and alot of people also called him the "KING" before he did anything in the NBA...if you look at an interview on OPRAH with JORDAN and BARKLEY, even jordan said that he doesnt like the fact how "YOUNG STARS" which he was talking about "LEBRONZE and CARMELLO" are getting BIG ass contracts for all the HYPE they got out of HIGH school and COLLEGE...before he even proved anything....JORDAN, KOBE had to earn there respect in the league...

There was an piece posted on here a while ago talking about LeBron and the reason for his number change. It had some very interesting points that actually make sense. Not to mention, when they asked MJ about LeBron winning a ring in his 7th year(stupid question), he didn't really give any words of encouragement. In fact, he seemed a little annoyed.

Of course they will never ask MJ this because they probably already have an idea of what he would say...

The way to win respect on here and make people feel you know your game is to avoid writing posts like the one you just wrote:
"...if Kobe..."
"...probably be the best..."
"...slow him down YET.."
"...wait till he gets older..."

Your emotional look at "Lebronze" may have you hitting the keyboards pretty firmly and making you believe you're proving a point, but you better bring it stronger than ifs, maybes, yets, and just wait. People are into the now...into the way it really is...and not into the would bes. You know what they say, "If my aunt had ba---, she'd be my uncle." It's just not that close for MVP right now. You could write, "hate his game...hate his face...he's going to NY...etc.", but just stay away from trying to make people believe he's not that good.

Orlando in my opinion is the best team in the playoffs... Second I go with the Lakers.. But the Lakers can be hurt by speed... The Cavs are better than Denver at this point cuz of the coaching problem but are going to get hurt by any team that has good balance, inside and outside scoring... The CAvs cannot defend the pick and roll and even with more talent have problems winning games without Lebron... Boston can also beat the Cavs.. But only if The Cavs have no other player but Lebron really step up...

Lebron doesn't need a superstar number two. Jamison has been quailty so far in the playoffs and overall the Cavs have so a balenced roster Lebron doesn't need a great 2nd option. He has the perfect role players to win the title. The Cavs have the best team and should win the title barring a meltdown.

Magic said Lebron will be the best player for the next 15 years?

Dammit, I swear you can't believe anything any of these analysts say about Lebron because they all act like they have crushes on him. I mean, they are openly biased. Damn.
Obviously Magic doesn't really think Lebron is going to be the best for 15 years. Obviously he was just trying to make a point of how good Lebron is. Look at it this way, imagine Kobe had an amazing game, and made a lot of shots. Imagine someone who saw the game telling a person who didn't see the game how great Kobe was, and says something like, "Kobe hit like 50 shots in row." Obviously Kobe didn't really hit 50 shots in a row, but in trying to express how Kobe was in that game, he uses a much bigger number than it was.

You are an idiot.

3x NBA MVP > 1x NBA MVP
3x NBA Finals MVP > 1x NBA Finals MVP

Magic is a top 5 player of all time. The Lakers never missed the playoffs when he was the no.1 option of his team.

Ignore the trolls.

Rings are overrated. They must be taken in context. Had Pippen won another ring without Jordan, is he a top 5 player of all-time? 7 rings would say so. Until you look closer and realize the rings he won in the context that they were won. By the same logic, KG was a better player 2 years ago than in 04. Anyone want to try to argue this point? I don't think so.

Stop posting Kobe ring pictures in an attack on LeBron as if it isn't widely known that Kobe has ALWAYS had the better team; by a considerable margin. Also, stop acting as if LeBron hasn't outperformed Kobe on a night by night basis for 2 years now.

There seems to be this Kobe vortex where arguments that apply (in their minds) to why Kobe is better than LeBron, don't apply to someone else being better than Kobe. Any evidence given is disregarded, yet used when it benefits their side. Also, we aren't comparing careers here. Kobe has obviously had the more decorated career, but that doesn't mean he's currently a better player. Should I post Shaq's ring pictures when someone says Dwight is better than him? This would be idiotic right?

You have to be an idiot to think Kobe is better than LeBron at this point. At this point, you are comparing Kobe, who has been awful thus far these playoffs, to LeBron who has been phenomenal. There is no comparison.

Man if this was the late 80's/early 90's Laker fans would be putting up pics of Magic and Jordan in the same context. They would do it for the same reason then that they do now. They're scared. While they begrudgingly admit that Kobe won't pass Jordan, they took pride in the fact that they could say that Kobe is the greatest player this century. And much like Magic, before Kobe is even retired someone better is coming along.

If Cavs win it alll this year, get ready for 10000000000000 posts about "The weak pansy East vs the tough as nails, greatest conference ever West."

What is this 2008? Is this still even a debate?

I'm a big Kobe fan and obviously LeBron is a better player now. I'd take LeBron with the current Laker squad than current Kobe to be honest. though of course Kobe does have 4 rings to his credit and he knows how to win. Hopefully he takes the summer off and gets surgery.

I agree.... Kobe can struggle and his team is still going to win some games.. Duncan can struggle and his team can win games... Dhoward only needs to play defense on some nights and his team wins but If Lebron struggles I doubt this Cavs team can win...

Doesn't mean I don't think they can beat beat. They clearly can but I'm confident. They to me are the best team.

Thats the thing Lebron never struggles offensively thats why he is so good. Even if he shoots bad he will ALWAYS help the team one way or another. Jamison in means another option who can take the scoring load.

Cavs don't need Shaq all that much. They just need himto clog the paint. The Cavs have such a deep team that Shaq's scoring isn't needed. All he needs to do is rebounding, clog the paint and defend Dwight and other possible bigs which he will do. Cavs don't need much from Shaq to win the title.

Let me explain something..

You're forgetting that everyone was saying the same things about kobe. When kobe was entering his peak. Kobe at 27 (equivalent to lbj at 25 minutes wise as far as I know or close) was scoring 81, going on 10 game streaks of scoring 40... 8 game streaks of 50.. It was insane. Everyone on the face of the planet when watching Kobe said the same things they are saying about Lebron now. To be honest at least from what I remember the hype was even more than what lbj has now. However circumstances change, and at some point you have to decide between stats and championships. Kobe put himself in a place to end up with 5-6 rings, where as he could have went for the stats and ended up with 4 max. When that question comes up to lebron (and I believe it is coming up this off season) will lebron choose the rings or the stats? Will lebron ask for an all star to guarantee contending for the next 5 years like Kobe did or will he be satisfied with losing in the east bracket for a couple years until his teammates develop (and I promise u, there will be a situation like this in lebrons career).

So in conclusion, we don't know who is gonna end up where on the all time list.. But right now, Kobe is higher than Lebron if both careers ended today and whoever wins this ring is making a MASSIVE push for t5 status.

What does better "winner" even mean? That's honestly one of the weirdest labels I've ever seen. The better played is the better winner. One player can't be better at basketball while the other is better at winning at basketball. The one who can affect wins more is the better player. LeBron is that. Just because one player is put in a different situation and wins doesn't make him a "winner." That's just a vague label..

I agree that Kobe has the best shot (as of right now) of launching himself into a legitimate top 5/MJ comparison...but let's stop right there.

He could have went with stats and stayed at 4 rings? How do you figure? What does that even mean? He still LOVES to shoot and in a way, is still going for stats.

Kobe didn't place himself anywhere. Pau was gifted and that was the key to them winning...not Bynum, not Lamar, not anyone else. LeBron is no different...he wants great players to play around him. The difference is, there is no Pau out there that they can get for nothing. Jamison will do for now. It's also going to be interesting to see how Cleveland's talent develops...

quite true buddy, and even funnier is the little respect to Pau that being the mvp of the series so far everybody is talking about Kobe defense on Westbrook :lol I mean...thats what i call REAL LUCK (Kobe's)

No doubt Kobe is and has been one of the greatest. nobody can say no to that. but he bears no comparison to Lebron Today. they are just not at the same level. Actually NOBODY is at lebron's level. Lebron has not had a real talented team around him, thats all. making a "better-winner" label for Kobe out of that is the most absurd thing I have read in ages.

I have watched basketball for a few years already , like 25 at the very least, and the ONLY player that dominates all the aspects of the game almost as Jordan did is Lebron. it just takes to get your head out of Kobe's ass and watch some ball to realize this.

I always laugh when idiots use the "skilled big man" excuse to diminish what Kobe has accomplished.....

Oscar Robertson spent the last 4 seasons of his career with not only the most skilled big man of all time, but ARGUABLY the greatest player of all time and wins only 1 championship yet this guy gets slobbed up to like 5th on the all time and no one mentions this.....
Lets not forget that he even spent his last 5 years on Cincinatti with Jerry Lucas, a guy who averaged over 20 ppgs and 20 rpg for the span of those 5 years and what does he do? HE MISSES THE PLAYOFFS 3 YEARS IN A ROW! Yet we never hear these clowns.

What about Magic who spent most of his career with Kareem?...Or Stockton?.....Comments like this is what has made me so defensive of guys like Kobe, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Tiger Woods, A.Rod, etc.
I have never seen an athlete who has had so many morons quick to diminish every aspect of his career.

:applause: This is the most accurate post i've seen in this thread.
When Kobe went on that tear from 2005-07 when he was breaking records and accomplishing feats comparable to only Wilt, Elgin, and Mj.....the same talks we hear about LeBron having this potential to be GOAT was applied to Kobe.
The same thing even happened with Shaq back from 1993-1996.....Its about HYPE.

While I do think LeBron is EASILY the best in the game today, I find it laughable when I hear some homers seriously say things like "Kobe has never been as good as LeBron has been these past 2 years"......I find a hard time taking anyone who would make such an asinine statment like that serious. If people would really realize what Kobe was doing in that 2 year span, they would understand why I think statements like that is ridiculous in my opinion.

Kobe best two years could be compared to lEBRON's last two years but they were not as good.. Lebron has won at a much higher level.. ANd last year won 66 games with Mo as his best sidekick.. I have never seen Kobe or any other player do something like that... So no I don't think Kobe's best is as good as Lebron's last two years... Kobe didn't prove anything to me with his just ok playoffs in those two years.. With all the scoring he was doing in the regular season his playoff numbers went down...

As for Lebron getting that great sidekick.. It isn't going to be as easy as getting players to play in SUNNY LA.LA LAND...

Just ok playoffs???? Kobe averaged 27.9 ppg 6.3 rpg 5.1 apg ( 5 apg with Kwame Brown, Chris Mihn, and Smush as teammates btw) on nearly 50% shooting in the 2006 playoffs......his ppg was the only thing that went down so where did you get this myth that his production went down?....and in the 2007 playoffs he averaged 33 ppg/ 5.2 rpg/4.4 apg on 46% shooting...And those were worst teams than any team LeBron ever had in a more competitive conference.

And not as good? Kobe Bryant pulled off a season that had not been seen since Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor!.....Most of the records, milestones, etc he accomplished those 2 seasons had not been seen in as many as 40 years!

Yes LeBron won at a higher level, but are you going to sit here and say it didnt have anything to do with his role players??

Good points. And the fact that Lebron was in the much inferior conference. And no thats not speculation. Just look what happened in 07 when he got to the finals. SWEPT! If that Cavs team were in the West they barely get 8th seed and get swept.

^ QFT on the eastern conference part.

Let's not forget how TERRIBLE the east was. Lebron played Wizards in the first round which weren't all that much better than they were at the start of this season...

Even if caron butler wasn't traded, and gilbert arenas didn't get convicted for gun-bringing the wizards still wouldn't have made the playoffs... and it's not like the East is SUPER STRONG now... it's just a lot stronger than it has been in a while.

Celtics and Hawks are both around the same level that the 2-8 seeds are in the west...

To say that Kobe has never played at the level that Lebron is playing at now is really near-sighted. Yes, Lebron is getting more rebounds, and more assists, but the validity of those stats is questionable. I for one when I watch the cavs play am not too impressed with Lebron's rebounding skills, most of his rebounds are already secured for his team. His assists are admittedly good.

on the other hand just a couple of years ago Kobe scored 81 points in a winning effort... 81. Then he scored 62 points against the Mavs that got 1st seed in the west in that same season... Kobe HAS played at a level equal to what's Lebron doing now, everyone is just way into the hype.

Validity? LeBron's definitely earned them. I just think they're inflated in the sense that everything that team does revolves around him. If other superstars were surrounded with the shooters he has and were given the green light to hold the ball 12-15 seconds each possession many of them could put up similar numbers.

Really? Who could do that? LeBron has been putting up gaudy numbers even before he had any talent on his team.

If you question his rebounding/passing ability; you really don't watch Cavaliers games. Having the ball in your hands doesn't give you extraordinary court vision nor does it give you the ability to rebound well.

As Kblaze pointed out in another post; LeBron holding the ball "all game" is a myth. There have been plenty of players in the past who held the ball as much as LeBron or more; they just didn't have the all-around game or ability to play as well as he has, and in turn resulting in eye-popping stats.

If someone is arguing that there are a lot of players that can put up 30/8/8 on 50% FG, then don't even bother responding. If it were that easy, or they think they could put together a team that could do that, then they should be GM's.
