Someone once said 'Never doubt a champion'

Rudy from the Rockets back in his coaching days ...

Well I think this is the upset of the playoffs, because on paper and on the floor the Mav's looked to get to the title game.

Spurs will pull out all the stops and try to finish it here , for the simple reason , they don't want to play any extra games because of their age.

I'd say look for Blair, Jefferson to spice up the night w/ Duncan and Ginobli putting the hammer down.
-----------
I can't imagine what Cuban is thinking after that trade and seeing for the first time in years a roster loaded around and taylor made for Dirk.

way better then stiff ass dampier

Yeah I have been tryin to figure out why he is even gettin much playing time over Haywood as he has no chance of producing any offense and not any better than Haywood defensively.

SCdac

Spurs down 6, but not out. Too many turnovers, and couldn't get to the line enough, but I think they can muster up better basketball. That quarter was too much at the Mavs tempo.

what the hell was Parker doing taking a jumper over Haywood when he had Blair switched onto JJB?

I think Mavs should win this game barring any crazy meltdown as are at home and pumped up. It is helping that they are actually attacking the rim this game and drawing fouls, not shooting terrible jumpers over and over.

But I doubt they will win game 6, I see Spurs closing it out.

The mavs are actually driving to the basket....ABOUT TIME

creepingdeath

Haywood is giving the Mavs so much more offensively, and he's doing that while being better than Damp defensively, either.

..and they push the ball relentlessly, but they also did that in game four, when they build a 15 point lead, before completely losing the plot duirng halftime and playing Spurs ball for the rest of the game.

Najera quickly losing my respect. 2 hands to the face? make it look less obvious at least

Grey Dawn

Najera proving that he should have been suspended for this game.

Again, not just the one hand, but then a slap to the front of the face with the other hand after too, proving (as with Ginobili) that he was 100% doing it on purpose and 'flagrantly'.

he's using his hands too much after the foul. why is he taking a charge and flinging his hands (particularly left hand) into Parkers face? it's more flagrant and off the ball than anything (

Eh, I got nothing against tough, in your face, do or die, and maybe dirty basketball. Those are some of the my favorite series, ones with intensity... As long as it's kept in check and recognized by the officials... Najera has some serious balls to pull off a hard foul like that and I'm aware of his career, but I've lost some respect for him after that and neck grabbing Manu... but really every team is going to have a dirty player or two. that's basketball.

If the mavs can come out with the same intensity in game 6 they have a shot. You dig down and battle and find a way to win in San Antonio and you earn yourself a game 7 at home.

If the mavs can come out with the same intensity in game 6 they have a shot. You dig down and battle and find a way to win in San Antonio and you earn yourself a game 7 at home.

Honestly this was the kind of game I expected in game 5. The Spurs weren't going to go all out after taking a 3-1 lead. They new unless they came out hot from the start that they weren't likely to beat the Mavs on the road. Look for them to come out firing on all cylinders in game 6. Both teams are much different playing on their homecourt.
