Lebron.

Shaq has a better spin move than Lebron.

Melo.

Melo is more comfortable in all areas, shooting from anywhere on the floor out of a spin move, he'll spin into a comfortable 19 footer, same as he'll spin into a 9 foot floater, a 2-hand dunk, or spin into a ball fake the nbackpivot for a jumphook.

Melo can spin anywhere and score.

these are only a few. there are way moreSon does have a vicious spin move, but does he ever utilize it for jumshots, and if he does, does he shoot those jumpshots at a high percentage? Maybe you have a clip of him spinning into a 12ft floater?

Most spin moves look cool, so there's no one that has the best.

um yea maybe if he actually utilised it.. its not just about the spin its about the footwork aswell... Paul Pierce would be ideal dancing with the stars contestant with his bag of footwork skills. Spin move one two dribble jumpshot. There is nobody in the game that has an individual skill set like PP34, Any ISO play . MONEY

I'll say Monta until Tyreke proves otherwise in a couple years. Wade had that killer/illegal spin move he was busting out a few years ago but he doesn't seem to do it anymore (probably because he can no longer get away with it).

Honorable mention goes to Dwight Howard. May not be the prettiest, but it's silky for a big man and when Howard spins on you...what can you do?

Used to be Dwyane Wade until he became jump-shot hungry.

Gotta be Melo... His hard dribble to the right and then quickly spins and shifts to his left. That thing is unstoppable.

Shaq has a nice spin..

Tony Parker
Melo is pretty solid at it too.

Biased here but I'm gonna have to give it to Melo. Guy can not only spin but do everything after the spin, I've also seen him have good enough balance after the spin to absorb the contact AND complete the play for the and1. Thing of beauty.

It's hard to say who has the best spin move, but if I am not mistaken, there might be a few candidates:

Shaq
Ellis
Monroe
Parker

Right now there are many candidates, but for all-time, my money is on Hakeem Olajuwon. Fella had the sickest spin moves I've ever seen, and he pulled off what might possibly be the greatest spin move in the history of the game during the 1994 NBA Finals - one that began in a dribble to the right, and the quickest spin back off the right foot and ended in a clear, wide open dunk. Ewing was the defender, and in the highlight film, he's not even in the picture as Hakeem dunked. In fact, I never saw this move repeated since.

for sure hakeem had the best big man spin move

for point guards who were on the run and then did their spin move,
payton and earl the pearl were my personal favorites

The most effective is Chris Paul's. Kid knows how to handle.

Can't say about Earl the pearl, cuz I didn't see him play, but I agree that Payton had wicked spins in his heyday, mid to late 1990's.

Melo and Pierce have very good footwork on their spins

BarberSchool
07-27-2011, 05:11 PM
Melo.

LeBron isn't nearly as comfortable shooting pull-up midrange off-balance shots or runners from his.

Melo is comfortable spinning anywhere, anytime, and finishing with a variety of shots from any spot. He has mastered his spin move to adapt to any situation, full or half court.

And another underrated spin, because it's slow when he uses it for a fadeaway, and is kinda easy when he spins to drive for a layup or baseline dunk, is Dirk's. It's not as visually stunning, but it's severly effective.

Co-sign Pierce having excellent balance, comfort and footwork from lots of spots with his spin.

You have to be able to spin both ways perfectly to be nominated as the best. Many of these players are sloppy going the other way.
