What does Jordan have to do with Kobe? And no, Jordan never fell.

So Kobe got broke off TWICE in the same game? I didn't see this Prince move, but Hunter broke Kobe's ankles badly on a crossover tonight. What did Prince do? A crossover or something?

upload that clip.. its the most insane thing ive seen in a long time.

You'll never see the clip. Kobe fanatics suppress all such clips. :D The only clips that ever show up are when Kobe does something great.

Hunter sent Kobe 7 feet to the left while Hunter went to the right. That's breaking his ankles. Kobe even changed his stance as he shifted to the left. People say that AI broke Jordan's ankles, yet what Hunter (and apparently, what Prince) did to Kobe tonight was much worse.

any idiot watching the game knows that kobe cant play defense right now. has no lateral movement whatsoever. so for this idiot star jordan to make it sound like thats kobe for real is rediculous. its probably gonna be on kobe's embarrasing moments for his career but its not as a big of a deal as this idiot thread starter is trying to make it

Haha, nice try at damage control. You said that Jordan fell. He never did, because if he did, it'd be all over the place (look at the AI clip and imagine how widespread a clip of Jordan falling would be). Then you change the subject talking about rookies. Never mind the fact that AI is possibly the quickest player ever, was 6-7" shorter than Jordan, and was 12 years younger at the time. Hell, Kobe was getting abused by Barbosa in last year's playoffs, and Kobe was 27, not 34.

Not even close Loki. Iverson's move was way more embarrasing, Jordan got crossed twice by a ROOKIE.

Jordan was 36 years old and Iverson was a lightning quick up and coming rookie, so i'd hardly call it embarrassing. If that's the worst in his career that Jordan was ever crossed, then I'd say the 9 time all-defensive first team player has nothing to be embarrassed about.

If you want to see true embarrassment, just look at what Iverson did to antonio daniels.

Btw, I never implied that Kobe is 100% right now, or that him falling or biting on a crossover should be taken as "proof" of anything. Obviously his lateral movement isn't what it usually is. I just didn't see the Prince play and was surprised that Kobe got broken off twice in one game (once by Hunter, once by Prince).

And Hotsizzle, Jordan missed blocking AI's shot by a tenth of a second. Take 7 years off Jordan's legs and AI's shot gets sent to the third row. Don't worry, I can't wait til Kobe is 34 and getting lit up by lightning quick guards on switches. Oh, wait, I don't have to wait til he's 34 -- I can just watch the tape of last year's Suns series to see that. :D

this is a thread about kobe bryant... yes.. THE kobe bryant... getting flamed alive..

why is jordan in this thread to begin with.. jordans not on sportscenter right now, its kobe getting lit up.

1. the play is insane, because i hate kobe, and he got lit up on the play
2. i hate kobe
3. jordan shouldnt be in this thread, because jordan played good basketball at all times, and didnt get crossed up that bad
4. see number 2
5. after a night of the celtics losing..

paul pierce still grabs more rebounds than centers in the NBA, and kobe got abused on TNT..

Come now. I just saw the play, and he bit on Prince's head fake and then tried to recover too quickly and lost his balance. Knees don't just "give out" -- he got broke. If his knee really "gave out," he wouldn't have been able to walk or play on it right after that.

After seeing the play, it wasn't as bad as some were saying, though. I like the Hunter crossover on Kobe from the 3rd quarter better.

coming from someone that has had knee surgery, knees DO give out especially when you are coming back. And you can come right back and play. The knee just isnt strong enough to handle the pressure you attempted to put on it at the time.

The Tayshaun Prince "cross" is on the NBA.com highlights for the game, I looked at it repeatedly for a coupla minutes, even if kobe did fall which it really didn't look too much like it wasn't as incredible as some people seem to think in this thread its not like Kobe went down HARD or anything, remember D-wade when he sent that guy about 14 feet into the foot of the basket? THATS getting broke, kobes just looks like he tripped on a lace or some ****. The other crossover's nowhere to be seen, not saying it wasnt good but if NBA.com don't think enough of it to highlight, it couldnt have been a stand out play.

First let me say that the idea that something never happened cause its not on YouTube is ridiculous.

Back around '97 Kevin Garnett dunked on Shaq and threw up the Q-Dog sign like Shaq used to do. Steve Smith caught Shaq sleeping during a play in the 1996 Playoffs and threw down a putback dunk on Shaq's head.

I have not been able to find either clip since. Don't confused rarely seen and never happened.

As for Kobe...

This board is reaching a new level for hate when Tayshaun's move is considered an embarrassing crossover on Kobe.

That's really not that suprising. Kobe gives up a lot, especially on defensive plays...he gambles way too much. And he only "tries" to play defense a handful of times during a season, and even so, his defense is just nothing but a ton of fouling that doesn't even get called.

AKA AAP
11-11-2006, 12:51 PM
There was also this play where Manu Ginobolli pulled a spin move, Kobe was guarding him, and Kobe absoultely fell and flew backwards from the free throw to the restricted charge area. It was worst than that one Wade hessitation crossover where the guy went flying. When Ginobolli pulled the move, the Laker announcers went quiet...and they acted as if it didn't even see it.

In the jazz-celtics game harpring flat out fell from a crossover from pierce. It wasn't even a very good crossover, Harpring is just really uncoordinated and tripped over his own feet. It was more of a pure crossover than the Kobe-prince one though.

RidonKs
11-11-2006, 03:30 PM
Haha, I've brought that up a few times on this board. That move was amazing. Bron was completely leaning on one side of Tay in the post, and Tay just spun right off him towards the basket for the huge dunk. They replayed it like 5-6 times too right after the play, and probably dozens more from Sportscenter highlights.

Kobe definitely returned way too early from the injury.

He can't play that good of defense right now. and he added too much upper strength to his body.

He might need to Play SF.

He still jukes other guys out though. Its just part of the game.

Prince waited until Kobe ran towards him and he just flew by him and stepped back for the shot. It wasn't anything special and Im not saying that cuz im a laker fan but it wasn't a crossover and it was a pretty quick move.

I haven't seen Kobe fall but I haven't seen the entire game, Prince always plays Kobe tight...his long arms always give Kobe problems, I haven't seen the play but I don't see what's so special about a guy who had a knee surgery in the off-season falling down...we all know Kobe is a competitor...atleast he goes out and tries to cover players, unlike Wade, LeBron or McGrady...who would rather just stand and watch then actually go and cover a good player on defense.

The Hunter play I did see, and boy people like Loki make a big deal out of the smallest plays I swear...Kobe was shook for a second because Hunter is a real quick guard. he got lost for a second but Hunter didn't even score on that play or make Kobe even bend down really...makes me wonder how good that Prince play truly was...probably just another hyped up play by the haters.

even chancy faked out the injured kobe on a three in the first half. Moved his foot in a little shuffle, got kobe off balance and took an open three. Its nothing special, just showing that you can get kobe to bite on a move and take advantage of his gimpiness. maybe they should sit him till he's healthy

The play of the night was from Kobe, with that spin move fade away jump shot in the 4th...way more impressive then that weak ass crossover Hunter put on an injured Kobe.

Please try to say otherwise, I even saw a Piston player on the bench say "F*ck off" when Kobe made that shot.

Kobe still owns Prince
uhhmm, how many champs has kobe won since prince has been a starter? oh yeah the 5 game sweep. oh wait prince won that one. its a team sport and having a showboater ballhog (who is undeniably brilliant) won't win you a 7 game series. Maybe if kobe played his defense assignments like it always mattered.

Plays of the night dont matter. highlights may be what sports center is about but kobe helped his team into a 20 point deficit. The focus on individual players or plays is what is wrong with the nba. clowns wanting to see alleyoops, dunks and no defense. its still only worth two points.

Small play? lol Kobe was shook 6 feet to the left while Hunter went to the right. Is a 35 year old Hunter as quick as a 21 year old Iverson? I wonder why people made such a "big deal" about Jordan getting crossed, then (and MJ was 34, not 28 like Kobe). But I guess your "small play" standards don't hold both ways.

prince is the better TEAM player BUT kobe is the better player, your comparing players by their team.....so basically you can say Michel Olimacandi (spell cheak) owns stephon marbury jut cuz he's on a better team, doesnt work that way my friend

hunter himself shaked his head when that shot went in.

and that prince move is a pathetic attempt to make kobe look bad.

Who's talking about Jordan? Or Iverson?
Iverson crossed a healthy Jordan, Hunter crossed over a gimpy Kobe...look who's making a huge deal about it...YOU.

Iverson cross over was overrated anyways, it was a nice crossover...but because it was on Jordan it was over hyped. Hunter's crossover was nice, but not as spectacular as you claim it was.

1)Kobe was not shook that much.
2)Kobe wasn't fully healthy.

That's why it wasn't that impressive.

Kobe has a gimp knee. That is pathetic that you and StarJordan will do anything to make Kobe look bad. Stop trying to put Kobe on Jordan's level. Kobe wasn't shook. People make a "big deal" about Jordan crossed because HE IS JORDAN. The best ever. Kobe isn't. MJ at 34 was healthy and didn't have any knee problems. StarJordan is a straight up hater.

Wade had a gimp knee, and won Finals MVP. Kobe, healthy or "not", will NEVER be finals MVP. He'll retire with less finals MVP's than Chauncey Billups.

And I get this feeling that Kobe is exaggerating his knee (exaggerating has been one of his cancer-istic traits he's whole career). Probably only had tendonitis and went the surgery route. Typical Kobe, what NBA player doesn't have tendonitis?
