I used to have one of those years ago. They are def. very nice glass. But watch out for the stem, that's the most sensitive area. If it tips and falls on the bowls stem area, its going to be cracked. Unless they have reinforced it since over 5 years ago

The only reason a bong costs more is the amount of craftsmenship involved in making it. They have some cheap machine made bongs that sell for cheap, and then they have hand-made pieces of art that go for much more.

Other aspect to it are size, coloration (or lack of it) and "accessories". By accessories I mean: ice catcher, percolators, etc.

The only smoking device that gets you higher then another is a vap, which heats up the bud enough to vaporizer the THC without burning it. A vap gives you 95% of the THC in a bud, while burning it gives you 35%. As an aside an bong actually slightly lowers the amount of THC in a hit, but it also filters out carcinogens and tar + cools the smoke, allowing you to take bigger hits, which means you get a bigger high per hit, but not necessarily higher in general.

here you have your avg water bong, probably around $40. looks like it has an ice catcher but i cant really tell. Its a foot tall, and you can probably get some nice rips out of it no doubt. an every day smoker will need at least a bowl or two to reach a pretty good high.

Here, you have what looks to be a tripe perc bong, with ice catcher, splash gaurd, the whole nine. This guy probably cost $350+ now 1 rip off this bad boy will have you stoned, no doubt. The smoke is filtered through each perc, which not only makes the smoke cleaner (and healthier) but easier to inhale (and able to inhale more) plus, as the smoke passes by the ice, it cools the smoke down, so there is no burn what so ever. This bong is 2 ft tall and will probably take around 15-30 seconds to white wall it (fill it with smoke) while it would take about 5-7 sec to white wall your $40 bong. after you take in this load you have no clue what you just did becuase you didnt feel a thing. The more expensive bong makes it a whole lot easier to take massive bong rips that are ice cold to the touch. make sense?

I think this is due to the fact that a expensive bong will allow you to take huge hits and "flood" your system with THC while with a cheap bong you have to take a lot of smaller hits to smoke a bowl, but I IDK?

You will need to do that for 8 weeks. also make sure to water them with water that has a ph level between 6-7

Yea prices are a *****. I generally just stick to good green, I don't have the cash to afford danks all the time. We also get a lot of Canadian weed thats pretty good (it's inbetween good green and danks in quality), it usually goes for 40 a bag.

Paying the extra money isn't just for the art. There's also misinformation as to how long it takes to white wall and clear a Roor opposed to a cheap bong. When you buy a Roor, or any other reputable brand name bong, you get a premium piece of glass in both form and function. moving on, ROORs are nice and that's a good price. will it allow you to take bigger hits? maybe. you might go at a quicker pace, but it won't get you 'higher'. ash catchers can keep the bong cleaner and ice can make the hits smoother. ROORs are designed nice though, i'll give you that. it's excellent glassware designed well. make sure it's one from a german plant. the THC that is filtered through water is very, very negligible, so much so that i wouldn't even factor it in. it's way less of a waste than a blunt.

so do what you want really.

i'm gonna go on an aside rant: people, CLEAN your bongs. it's so damn simple. no one wants to smoke out of stagnant water from a bong that smells like tarzan's a$$. throw some salt in there with a couple ounces of rubbing alcohol every couple weeks, shake it around vigorously. rinse. repeat. use a little brush if you want and you're done. no special chemicals, pennies on the dollar. i used to make my bongs damn near spotless using that strategy. it takes 15 mins, tops. got damn, have some pride. if you can't see the design or shit is caked in resin, it's time to clean it. it's a cleaner, nicer smoke.

I'm with you on the Green Dragon. We usually use Everclear (the 90% legit everclear) when we do it and it can get you messed up pretty good. I was always curious about the alcohol in the bong trick. i heard burning tinfoil creates toxic smoke. i used to make these too but i kind of believe it does since i get a burn that isn't typical weed smoke.

i've done the soda/beer can but thats when its spur of the moment with no pipe and its as ghetto smoking as you can get. worse than tin foiil.

i used to have a 3ft graffix glass bong i got from Wonderland in Philly, no bells and whistles like ice catchers but this was years ago when i was in college, and it was awesome. real thick glass too. problem was i ended up breaking the stem trying to clean it like a year later.

moving on, ROORs are nice and that's a good price. will it allow you to take bigger hits? maybe. you might go at a quicker pace, but it won't get you 'higher'. ash catchers can keep the bong cleaner and ice can make the hits smoother. ROORs are designed nice though, i'll give you that. it's excellent glassware designed well. make sure it's one from a german plant. the THC that is filtered through water is very, very negligible, so much so that i wouldn't even factor it in. it's way less of a waste than a blunt.

so do what you want really.

i'm gonna go on an aside rant: people, CLEAN your bongs. it's so damn simple. no one wants to smoke out of stagnant water from a bong that smells like tarzan's a$$. throw some salt in there with a couple ounces of rubbing alcohol every couple weeks, shake it around vigorously. rinse. repeat. use a little brush if you want and you're done. no special chemicals, pennies on the dollar. i used to make my bongs damn near spotless using that strategy. it takes 15 mins, tops. got damn, have some pride. if you can't see the design or shit is caked in resin, it's time to clean it. it's a cleaner, nicer smoke.

Not in my experience. Just make sure you don't use anything made of plastic for the bowl because that'll burn and mix with the weed smoke and make it harsh as hell. If you use a metal bowl and clean water it should be fine. But it's a lot of smoke, and I know a bunch of people, a lot of serious smokers, who threw up or almost did after their first time.

you can make a bong out of any gatorade bottle or soda bottle. just pour some water in it, burn 2 holes, one for the stem (use a straw) and another for the carb then roll up the weed in a blunt and stick the blunt in the straw bam. gotta bong.

To add to that idea, me and my friends were reading a High Times that had an article with B-Real from Cypress Hill that talked about turning a bottle into a "birthday cake".

Basically what you do is burn as many holes in the bottle as your age, then roll up as many joints/blunts as the the wholes to be the "candles", then make a carb, then smoke that shit.

We didn't have enough weed to make a blunt for each year when we tried it, but either way, it ****S you up when you do it.

Quite possibly the best thing you can buy for a bong. I'd go as far as to say the best $10 I've spent since, well, ever. Just leave it in the bong at all times and give it a little scrub after use. I've had my bong for years now an it still looks new with just hot water and the buddy, no chemicals at all. The handle also doubles as a plug for 18mm glass-on-glass stem bases, so you can fill the bong with hot water upright and clean.

clicking on that link will show a pic of my bong, I got the blue one... it wouldn't let me post the pic for some reason. I got a version that lays down so you don't have to worry about knocking it over as much. The bends in the glass give you a great handle.

it's a ****ing ***** to clean though.

Just fill it with rubbing alcoholic, salt and ice. Swish it around. Dump and rinse.
