seriously those are the 2 greatest teams of all time. Chicago i believe was 15-3 in the playoffs since they had that 5 game series format in the 1st round. and in 2001 LA swept everybody lost 1 game to philly and won the series 4-1 best record in the playoffs all time 15-1 lakers hold it.

i believe it was

Shaq
Horry
Fox
Kobe
Fisher

but fisher was averaging like 20 freaking points that season he was on fire

Bulls

Longley
rodman
pippen
jordan
harper

who takes this ?

Shaq would have to put up some crazy stats because the Bulls would be putting a huge amount of pressure on Kobe since hes the only guy who could create off the dribble well in the back court.
Bulls in 6.

lol, no he'd probably have 30-35 ppg on high fg%. Check 96 Magic vs. 96 Bulls for reference, it'd probably be similar type series. (though LA is obviously better then the Magic were)

1996 Bulls. A better matchup would be the 1985 Lakers, probably the best team of all time.

Lakers in those playoffs were out of this world. Most dominant team ever. Lakers in 5-6.

Anyway, i think 1985 Lakers can beat both of them

The way shaq was officiated, nobody on the bulls could stop him. Their only chance would be weakside help, which they could do very well with their length and quickness. Kobe wouldn't be a problem. If Rip and Prince could handle him, then MJ and Pip could do it in their sleep. Shaq would be the biggest concern.

I honestly think it would go 7 games because Shaq creates a HUGE match up problem vs the Bulls, but I got the Bulls.

I agree. The 87 Lakers can as well. I think that they were better than the 85 Lakers, who may have been knocked off in the Conference Finals if Denver's Alex English didn't have to miss most of the series with a broken hand.

As for this thread: Bulls in five. Just too much for the 01 Lakers, who weren't as good as people thought they were.

Its called having a bad series. Pippen cant guard a 18 year old kobe. What will a 22 year old one do to him? Abuse

lol so your point is that a player's performance in ONE game is more telling than an entire FINALS series? Can you not see the flaw in your logic?

If Prince and Rip can force Kobe to struggle and settle for shots for THE ENTIRE SERIES, then Pip and MJ could do as much, regardless of any one regular season game.

Do you not see your logic where you claim pippen will lock him down in his sleep?
Or do you only see logic when it doesn't help your argument

I said MJ and Pip could do what was already done by Rip and Prince. If good perimeter defenders can limit Kobe, then all-time great perimeter defenders could do it in their sleep.

Please explain to me how Kobe cannot best Rip and Prince in the finals, yet is supposed to prevail against two of the best perimeter defenders in NBA history. Oh, right, you have that one game in the regular season...

Or do you only see logic when it doesn't help your argument
Oh, right, continue to consider one regular season game as a more significant example for evaluation than an entire 7 game finals series.

So Kobe became a superstar, then regressed, then got good again after Shaq left? That is weird.

Or maybe 2004 Kobe was clearly injured and suffering mentally because of the rape case? The 03-04 version of Kobe was the worse in the last decade.

00-01 Kobe
RS-28.5/5.9/5.0/1.7 on 46%/85%/30%
PS-29.4/7.4/6.1/1.5 on 47%/82%/32%

RS-24.0/5.5/5.1/1.7 on 44%/85%/33%
PS-24.5/5.5/4.7 on 41%/82%/25%

00-01 Kobe was far better.

Lakers in 6, who the hell is gonna stop Shaquille? Plus Kobe would definitly get his 22\5\5 against Pippen and Jordan, you guys act like he would have a 7 ppg on 25% FG series.

2004 shaq was the last shaq prime year and the pistons had no problem mopping him kobe payton malone off the floor.

MJ was sick with his reworked post game fadeaway. shaq is easy to stop just foul him lk what celtics just did to dhoward today. hacked him. forced him to make free throws. Bulls in 6.
