People keep sayin LeBron doesn't have killer instinct on the court because of game 5 and 6. Fkuck that, I remember seeing him dropping 29 Clevelands last 30 points vs Detroit when his team needed it the most, he just took over.
Delonte tapped his mom, if other players knew about it it makes perfect sense for LeBron not to care in that game 5 if he just found out.

Calvin Murphy is sleeping with Kobe's dad, and it ain't no rumor, but is absolutely true. See what I did there? :lol I dont believe in these retarded rumours, unless there is actual evidence. If these rumours affected Lebron play, mission accomplished by someone who has agenda.

You got it mixed up, it wasn't reported until after the series was over.
And whatever you tried to do there doesn't make sense, Murphy is a former NBA player with legit sources, you're not.

What I want to know is who are these 'inside sources' Murphy keeps referring to. Notice Murphy is also implying the entire Cavs team new about the disgusting relationship between LeBron's mom and Delonte 'I look like I have Herpes' West. Also, when was the last time something Calvin Murphy said turned out to be true?

As I said, if someone wanted to affect Lebron play, they probably succeeded, and reporting to general pop after series is irrelevant, we arent rumours targets, while players knew about this fake rumour during Playoffs.
Just because Murphy was NBA player, doesnt make his statement automatically correct, many of them are saying dumb things left and right. Unless those "sources" come out and prove it, I dont believe in this nonsense.

GM's, those lackeys who work for the organization.
Personally while Calvin Murphy is not the most reliable individual out there I would be inclined to believe he's telling the truth I just don't get why he wants to be involved here.

So you think if LeBron heard that rumor during the series he wouldn't just ask Delonte and his mom what was up, get it confirmed that it wasn't true and move on? I mean we're talking about his mom and his teammate here, no need to listen to rumors and let it affect you if you can just ask them yourself.

All I know is LeBron's play was inexplicably nonchalant in at least 2 games of the Boston series(Game 4 & 5). Everybody says he quit, but why in the world would he do something like that? Either this story is true or something equally disturbing must have happened BTS.

I'm sure he asked, still some rumours are affecting ones mentality. Lets say you hear in your workplace your wife is sleeping with a boss, and even though they deny it, and you believe them, still most likely you would be mentally vulnerable for some time. My guess is, such rumour surfaced among players during playoffs for very specific reason - to throw him off, and it probably worked.

If that's the case the Boston Celtics took winning a basketball series to a WHOLE new level right there! Gloria and Delonte getting horny is way more likely IMO.

So Delonte (or Lebrons mom) decided its the best time to spread such rumours during critical matches? That takes backstabbing to whole new level :oldlol:
I dont think Celtics are behind it, although they do use various tactics to crack opponents weakest links, like I did one post before about this:

since no crime was committed (if it did happen) i really think this is none of anyone's business and to some extent even lebron james, but it certainly isn't any of calvin murphy's bussiness, he just needs to learn to say no comment... 2 people both adults having a relationship is really nothing more than gossip fodder....

If anyone but Delonte had been rumored to have done this, I would immediately dismiss it. However, when it comes to DWest, anything is possible.... And, let's not forget that Gloria has a checkered past of her own.
It is entirely possible. I will also say this, though... That is no reason for LeBron to completely give up in the middle of a playoff series, so it really doesn't explain anything to me. His mom is single, correct? As is Delonte?
Really... Why would he even care that much?

Delonte and LeBrons mom are both adults with lives of their own. Assumming Delonte is respectful and not beating her or something, then what is the problem? Yeah it's pretty strange but enough to knock LeBron off his game? In the playoffs? If he's that affected he needs to go sit down and re-evaluate things.
FWIW, I don't believe there is any truth to this rumor. If there is, then who cares anyway? This is basketball, not a soap opera.

I'll put it like this... I've seen some comparisons between LeBron and Jordan. After watching his incredible competitiveness for nearly 20 years, I'm pretty certain that MJ would have pimped out his mom to Bill Cartwright if it meant bringing his team a title.... Maybe even a conference championship.... Hell, probably a regular season win.
I can see how LeBron would be upset if something did happen, but you be a man, pull aside West... Maybe even b!tchslap him a few times. However, you don't destroy something that you have worked so hard for because your mom, who is single, and one of your single teammates decided to get down.

I'm failing to see the connection between Jordan's father being murdered in cold blood being a life-changing event and LeBron's single mother being involved in an intimate relationship with a single teammate. How are the two events even remotely related?

what source did he publish this "information" to anyways? It seems like the equivilant of the equiror on the internet.
The outlet that broke it was Terez Owenz. It's the same organization as Perez Hilton, just with sports gossip (I think) instead of celebrity gossip.
But yea, basically you're right, the equivalent of the Enquirer, except probably lower on the credibility scale if that's even possible.

[QUOTE]I just received word from a high-up PR person from an NBA team, who would like to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, that the LeBron/Delonte rumor is true

I'm failing to see the connection between Jordan's father being murdered in cold blood being a life-changing event and LeBron's single mother being involved in an intimate relationship with a single teammate. How are the two events even remotely related?
I will restate that I really don't think this is true... And I was pretty obviously joking about MJ pimping out his mom to Bill Cartwright.
I'm not comparing MJ's father's death to LeBron's Mom's potential relationship. I agree that one is much more emotionally damaging than the other. I was disagreeing with your hyperbole about Jordan pimping his mom to Bill Cartwright. I know you were joking but your point was that Jordan had unshakable drive for winning no matter what life threw at him, right?

Jordan's father's death swayed his decision to retire early and try baseball when he was still playing at a superstar level. I don't know if its fair to say Jordan wouldn't let such a personal issue affect him the way it may have affected Lebron
Please Jordan felt like he was the cause of his fathers death due to gambling debt. If his dad was killed by a random person you really belive he would retire in his prime? To play like a scrub in the little leagues ?Come on son?

Wow... just wow. This guy must be pretty confident because he already go a letter from LeBron's lawyer.
When this first broke I was 99% sure it was fake, but now I'm starting to wonder. We have a non-annonymous source who has confirmed twice that they're hearing the rumor is true, with one of the times being after they were threatened by legal action. Then you have an ex-nba player reiterating in no uncertain terms that they've also heard from multiple sources that the story is absolutely true. That's a lot more corroboration than a lot of rumors out there get. Rumors that people on this board usually accept as fact.
For people saying they don't think LeBron should have been rattled by this. Not everyone has the same relationship with their mother. Some people out there probably find it hilarious that one of their co-workers would bang their mom. (Not just a co-worker, but the crazy one with herpes that everyone is kind of careful around.) But me, I don't think I could perform that well at my job under those circumstances. Not only that, but I doubt your job is as public as LeBron's is, so it's much different than him. The fact that your mom is banging the weirdo at work isn't going to be all over the news papers, so it's hard to compare.
I don't even think it's that far fetched for the two to be in a relationship. She probably hangs around the team a lot. Maybe West has some mommy issues and Mrs. James' motherly ways were appealing to him. It could have just started as genuine caring and led in to something else entirely. If it really is true... wow Delonte Wests' dong may have single-handedly destroyed the city of Cleveland.
So the question is, who is the third party? Did they say the person was from Cleveland? I remember last year some people in cleveland were suggesting there were legitimate reasons why LeBron didn't shake hands with the Magic after they were eliminated. That LeBron was horribly offended at something someone on the magic had done. Hmmmm... Lol, that's a stretch I know.
The thing that doesn't wash for me though is Shaq. I can't beleive that if he actually knew something, he wouldn't let something slide out of pure stupidity or at the very lease spite. Someone's mom's ****** might have cost him a ring, and I doubt he would just sit quiet and not even hint at it.
In the end if it's true, then I really feel for the guy. After the dunk fiasco and the non-shaking hands fiasco and being eliminated early two years in a row, he's now got to deal with this mess. Either way I think people should give the guy a break, this situation is not a happy time for anyone.

Lebron James played in such a weird way that everybody was asking what happened for him to play like that. So you either believe nothing happened and he just didn't felt like playing basketball that day, or that something indeed happened.

What I don't get is that if this is true, why would Lebron be the one to leave? Cleveland would clearly just ship Delonte's ass out. Now if all his teammates knew about it but didnt say anything, which I've heard, I guess thats a different story.

this already strange ass shit just keeps getting more strange.
ya, if it was me, i wouldn't be able to hang out with dude...for quite a while, much less a teammate i see almost every day, especially if any relationship continues. i'm not getting paid to play ball so that guy would just need to stay away or i could unload. ahh damn. she looks too much like lebron...damn delonte, i'm at a loss.
at the same time, how does this HOF'er know about this? does he hang around the team? if this was so damn obvious to everyone else, is lebron that slow? high b-ball IQ/low vision off the court?
this imagery is hard to shake, lol. not something i want to think about. the rumor having this much legs a full week after is troublesome. i don't want to believe it and i don't know if we'll find the full truth. all parties are gonna deny it and try to solve it personally, not through courts. it's gonna take multiple credible witnesses to corroborate a story. and if it did happen, why, delonte, WHYYY?

Calvin Murphy knows because like all NBAers past and present they all gossip. It doesn't take long for something like this to spread to the league. Maybe LeBron didn't want to believe it until he was confronted with it. I mean its not something you want to believe.
Of course its also possible that Calvin is full of shit

Scenario:
He talked to someone in the cavs front office who told him that everybody on the team knew except for LeBron. So it wasn't just Delonte he was mad at when he found out, but all of his teammates.
Plausible?
It sort of explains LeBron lack of caring in game 5 along with Delonte's minutes going down in the same game.
People want to call LeBron a chocker, but I don't buy it. I can't shake him scoring 29 out of 30 points from late 4th quarter and into two overtimes pulling out a huge game 5 in Detroit. The previous game he was criticized for passing up a drive to the basket in crunch time instead kicking the ball to Donyell Marshall for a 3pointer in the corner to go up instead of tie. Donyell mind you, is one of the best corner 3pt corner shooters in NBA history.

LeBron is both a good decision maker and very clutch, it doesn't make sense for him all of the sudden in the middle of his career to become a choker, I just don't buy it.

Lebron has already proven himself to one of the best clutch players in the league in both the playoffs and regular season. Over the last 7 years he has been the game's best clutch player. Kobe has been the best in terms of making game winning shots....but Lebron has been much better doing just about everything and anything his team needs from him to win.
A couple bad games in a playoff series against the Boston Celtics don't do anything to change my mind. I think Lebron is clearly the best player in the league now and all he needs is a legit team and coach for the titles to start rolling in. He'll go down as a top 10 player of all time easily....and I'd bet most people will consider him top 5 when his career is over.
