Sorry guys... I listened to this song last night.... and I can now appreciate how great this song really is.

If you can ever find a girl that can play this song on the guitar... I don't know... It's sexy... that's all.

Capo 2 G based Em, G, Dsus... other progression variations= Helen Keller could play it

Champagne Supernova is their real song

I like the Ryan Adams version of Wonderwall, it's just severely depressing.

What's better? She's Electric?

Anyways, I still love Wonderwall. Hearing it live is awesome but it's a bit annoying that people go to their concerts just for that song.

This is like the 3rd Wonderwall thread on this website about how badass of a song it is.

Dooms...listen to more Oasis. Definitely Maybe has a lot more songs that are better than Wonderwall.

Wonderwall is pretty easy to play but it's a great chord progression regardless. Lyrically, who cares? As long as it sounds good and you love singing along to it who cares?

Lyrics are pretty much just to sing along to.

And Ryan Adam's version is very good. It's just as good as Wonderwall in my opinion. He didn't play it though when he opened for Oasis.

No...it's smoke on the water than Seven Nation Army and then it's Mission Impossible and then it's Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.

Oasis have gone on record as saying they think Adams' version is the superior version. They went so far as to re-record Wonderwall as the Adams version. I've heard it on the radio a couple times, but I've never been able to find it online to D/L.

My enjoyment of this song is forever ruined by that guy at the party, who interrupts everyone's good time with a fcking awful, unsolicited, attention-seeking Wonderwall rendition, trying to get people (usually females) to think he's cool

She was ok. Her timing on the singing, especially towards the end of lines was annoying to me. She also didn't really have any emotion in the song that seemed genuine to me. I got the impression she was trying to mimick and force a certain style of singing as opposed to just singing it her way and making it her own style. I could be wrong, just my opinion on it.

Live Forever is one of my favorite pop/rock songs ever and 10x better than Wonderwall IMO.

Ryan Adams is the man... he's done the song most of the times I have seen him and it is a crowd favorite.

craigthomasb
05-24-2010, 01:21 PM
doing a cover of a song with a capo on youtube is alright, but very few muisicians can play alone with an acoustic guitar and hold a crowd, noel gallagher is pretty good at it, but this man is the master, not the greatest guitar player, but emotionally connected to the crowd and great individual performer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq38z7S7Vpw&feature=related

not everyone can try to cover and song and not know the words and get away with it

its better, for sure. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzZhtrsbJzs) Still, what about this song makes dooms think it may be the best ever written? Musically, its pretty pedestrian. Overly emphasized strumming, the hooks are meh, nothing really awesome in its composition. Lyrics are alright, but nothing mind blowing.

I hated this song when it came out, but its an alright song. Better than the gin blossoms anyways.

I have plenty of engineering friends. Many of them defy the image of the myopically focused ME who cant relate to people or anything other than some schematics. Many of them are very well rounded individuals who the breadth and passion to riff on greek social thought, the evolution of homonins, music theory, etc. I figure hawkster, being as into music as he seems to be, would be a little more interested in the beauty of a well crafted lyric, but I guess not.

Funny, just yesterday I was listening to a compilation of late 80s early 90s stuff called the Brit Box. Live Forever was on it. Fantastic song, even though Oasis really isn't my cup of tea. Best thing about Wonderwall for me is it's connection to George Harrison. Kind of a tribute by Oasis to the band that influenced them the most.
