You could actually describe starface using only Madonna's number one singles:

Becoming a movie star? Like A Prayer

Relationship status? Like A Virgin

lol, thanks for the interest guys. there is of course no such thing as bad pub.

i had the pictures taken last wednesday. right now they're in the process of being cropped and edited correctly (for instance, you could see the holes in my ears from the earrings, those have to be edited out) and such. they have to be transformed from pictures to headshots. i should have them sometime later this week, and you better believe i'll post them.

in the meantime, feel free to get your kicks thinking you're gangin up on me as if anything you could say bothers me. i'm 25 years old, smart, good looking, charismatic, financially comfortable, living in southern california. nothing people like gobb, deucewallaces, petes montreux, legend of josh, or rufuspaul can say to me on the internet could make me want to change one single thing. i KNOW what your guys' lives are like. you guys are a collection of socially misfit nobodies with boring jobs in small towns obsessed with someone wh is way more interesting than you. lol, negros please. take your best shots. its no skin whatsoever off my back :lol

A week from today I'm going to participate in a clinical trial that'll pay me 7.2k for a 17 day stay. in fact while i'm there i'm going to launch a website with a ton of different stuff (analyzing california's political candidates, blogging about sports related stuff, some other things).

my parents also help me with living expenses because they're supportive of what I'm trying to do, and I also saved them all that money they saved up for college by not actually going for more than a year.

i also just go on craigslist and find stuff to make a quick few bucks. a lot of the tv shows and gameshows that tape during the weekday out here pay you to go sit in the audience for a few hours, so i do that once in a while. if you're intelligent, articulate, and presentable and you look around, you can find ways to make money out here.

Another question for you. Does all this ISH hate actually fuel you in terms of 'making it' in the TV/film industry?

yeah its cause you have to have 17 days in a row available to stay overnight, but have to pass an alcohol, drug, nicotine, and general health screen so you cant just be some bum off the street, and then of course you have to get stuck with a needle once a day for a blood draw and of course there's "technically" a risk involved to an investigational drug (this one's for an asthma medication, which coincidentally i have anyway) but this isn't some underground lab testing crazy stuff the way most people probably picture it. these take place constantly around the country, i've done about a dozen since getting out of college, the facilities are state of the art, big screen tv's, recliners, ping pong tables, etc. etc.

No, I realize that, but they could fill these things pretty easily for much less than that, I'm sure. If it seems too good to be true (making 7 grand for doing nothing), it is. Not saying it's going to be harmful to you in this instance per se, just that I'd rather earn my money than be someone's guinea pig.

sounds like you're on the right track, as long as you understand what a grind pursuing this dream is they can't f*ck with you. you have to train yourself to love rejection and figure out what's realistic, if you're expecting to be Tom Cruise big you're in for a letdown. It's very difficulut to make a living as an actor, you'd be surprised how many recognizable actors live in small apartments and really struggle. If you can afford to join AFTRA you should go ahead and jump on that, can't hurt, AFTRA took over a lot of new TV shows after the SAG situation (SAG couldn't agree on a new contract, looked like they might strike). SAG still dominates features (and over half of TV probably) and that's really the union you want to get into. I might be able to help you get your SAG vouchers next LA show I get but my next job will likely be in NYC (Men in Black 3!). I'd say the same thing I said to halftime, get on craigslist and try to get parts on some low/no budget shit, student films, shorts, web series, whatever the f*ck you can get on, it will suck but you might be able to piece together a reel from it (ask for dailys). register with central and do a few days of background to get used to being on a real set and see how shit works. learn some lingo, etc.

do you have theater experience or are you just jumping into this? finding an agent is key but finding an agent to believe in you is tricky when you're just a kid off the street. it's gonna be tough too because you're young and you don't have brad pitt/josh hartnett looks (no offense, i'm sure you realize this though, at least you're fit, that helps), not a lot of great character actor parts for 25 year olds. you're likely gonna be trying to get cop, doctor, military roles for a while. It's not easy, getting into SAG and getting an agent who's going to put you up for shit is the first big step, the second step is getting that first (couple) role(s). You gotta just go for it, there's thousands of people out here who say they're actors but they never audition, they don't take classes, they're just sitting around waiting for someone to pick them out of the crowd and it will never happen. Gotta hustle.

Legend of Josh

LD actually sounds like he knows the 'getting your foot in the door' undertaking. Maybe you're already aware of all this starface, but I'm not quite sure you do. You brag about how honest and open you are about everything, yet you've never alluded to anything that would suggest to us here you have any freakin' clue whatsoever about how you're going to accomplish getting into the industry. Maybe you should take some notes from LD.

Confidence is obviously vital, but LD, from your experience, would you say being overly confidence bleeding into cocky is more of a + or -? If starface is anything offline as he is online, I think he's going to be seen right through, and as you mentioned, experience some letdowns, probably equating to eventual meltdowns for homey.

do you have theater experience or are you just jumping into this?

no theatre experience other than that the way i communicate is pretty theatrical by nature. when i talk to people or make presentations (especially things i'm passionate about) i get very animated, very flamboyant, very bold, the voice starts rising and falling, the hands are everywhere, "i dont care what you want, you're gonna hear what i have to say" attitude comes out. i'm a salesperson, communicating and putting on a show is what i do. in real life i'm just like i am here, except i TRY not to be quite as hostile (even though by nature i sometimes want to) - although many times i've failed and gotten in some trouble over it - but honestly when i talk people listen because i make them. im not passive or shy or unsure, i dont wait my turn to speak and im not still and monotone when i do it. i can act anything, belieeee dat.

finding an agent is key but finding an agent to believe in you is tricky when you're just a kid off the street.

This is where my salesmanship and eloquence will hopefully come in. while i'm in the study i'm gonna send out my headshots and cover letters etc. to a bunch of agents and basically convince them why i'm gold, and i have no doubt i'll be able to get at least one of them hooked. like i said, that's what i do.

not a lot of great character actor parts for 25 year olds.

yeah this is what the headshot lady was saying, it could be tough that i'm a little bit past playing in a high school movie but not really old enough to be a detective or a parent or a surgeon etc. there's a limited number of parts out there but they are out there, and putting anyone but me in them would be a mistake. once i get to meet people in person i'll be able to get that across. that's the hardest part about this whole thing for me, the fact that you have to do all sorts of submitting where people make their decisions just based on stuff on paper without getting to meet you. if i can get chances to meet with people, its over.

getting into SAG and getting an agent who's going to put you up for shit is the first big step, the second step is getting that first (couple) role(s).

true dat, once i get my initial portfolio with headshots, resume, cover letters etc. together and get out of the study, it's go time. the funniest thing about being in this industry to me is that because there are so many people that do it, when you say you're an actor or whatever people are just like "oh, another one..." and assume you're like everyone but for me i see very clearly what other people bring and how i'm different, but its not something you can really explain until you get a chance to just go do it. but that being said, i'll say it again just for the hell of it so that everyone knows: i got dis!

i really believe that wanting to succeed in film, be it writing, acting, or directing is a sickness. A socialized sickness. (probably the same for the music industry and politics) I have it, I think you have to have it to make it. It comes from a place of confidence, thinking your "voice" is unique somehow, it almost certainly toes the line of delusions of grandeur for most of us.

also, lamar doom (and anyone who lives in california) something to keep in mind is that i'm going to put up a website that discusses the political positions of california's candidates in this upcoming election.

everyone sees the commercials about steve poizner attacking meg whitman and vice versa, each saying the other one wont do this or that, i'm going to do the research on that (and other issues) and then explain clearly and thoroughly whose record looks like what and where they stand etc.

so if people out there from california want to get more educated on the candidates and their policies and just what the hell is going on out here, i'll have some comprehensive info on that but in a format that'll be a lot more interesting and relatable than watching c-span.

and with that, i'm off to run some errands. peace, and thanks again to those of you who were eagerly awaiting the updates on my career status. you can't follow me on twitter just yet, but soon my peeps, soon.

I'm only 19 so no bars, and I unless you come up to Bangor I don't think there will be a meet up. if I remember you stay in Rockland and I don't have a car so distance becomes a factor. Rockland like 1 and half hours away.

Vapid should know. Did your dad ever even apply to med school? My guess would be no. It's apples and oranges. People that become dentists tend to be very independent free thinkers. They, for the most part end up as individual business owners/entrepreneurs. Dealing with hospital admins, etc., being on call 24hrs a day is just not our thing. The justification of the MDs and surgeons was that they made so much more money but nowadays that's just not the case. I know a neurosurgeon in town that made less than I did last year just because of reduced insurance/managed care reimbursement.

no theatre experience other than that the way i communicate is pretty theatrical by nature. when i talk to people or make presentations (especially things i'm passionate about) i get very animated, very flamboyant, very bold, the voice starts rising and falling, the hands are everywhere, "i dont care what you want, you're gonna hear what i have to say" attitude comes out. i'm a salesperson, communicating and putting on a show is what i do. in real life i'm just like i am here, except i TRY not to be quite as hostile (even though by nature i sometimes want to) - although many times i've failed and gotten in some trouble over it - but honestly when i talk people listen because i make them. im not passive or shy or unsure, i dont wait my turn to speak and im not still and monotone when i do it. i can act anything, belieeee dat.

This is where my salesmanship and eloquence will hopefully come in. while i'm in the study i'm gonna send out my headshots and cover letters etc. to a bunch of agents and basically convince them why i'm gold, and i have no doubt i'll be able to get at least one of them hooked. like i said, that's what i do.

yeah this is what the headshot lady was saying, it could be tough that i'm a little bit past playing in a high school movie but not really old enough to be a detective or a parent or a surgeon etc. there's a limited number of parts out there but they are out there, and putting anyone but me in them would be a mistake. once i get to meet people in person i'll be able to get that across. that's the hardest part about this whole thing for me, the fact that you have to do all sorts of submitting where people make their decisions just based on stuff on paper without getting to meet you. if i can get chances to meet with people, its over.

true dat, once i get my initial portfolio with headshots, resume, cover letters etc. together and get out of the study, it's go time. the funniest thing about being in this industry to me is that because there are so many people that do it, when you say you're an actor or whatever people are just like "oh, another one..." and assume you're like everyone but for me i see very clearly what other people bring and how i'm different, but its not something you can really explain until you get a chance to just go do it. but that being said, i'll say it again just for the hell of it so that everyone knows: i got dis!

you sound like a man who has done a lot of clinical drug trials.

In all seriousness I hope you make it. I hope you soar like the eagles to the top of the Hollywood ladder. You've got a dream kid. Some day I'll be watching one of your films and thinking "if I was just nicer to Chris...Nah."

7.2k isn't to outrageous really. My father works M-F with Thursday off and works Saturday mornings. But we've radically cut down on the number of patients and focus on larger procedures, especially after he received a new implant degree. Eases the workload.

Implants are becoming more and more popular. To my knowledge the procedure, materials, etc is not covered by most dental insurance, because it's considered a cosmetic operation.

Yeah retard. There are dental establishments with whack names like Smiles 'R Us, etc where they bring in say 3-5 dentists, 10+ hygienists, etc. to run the business. They're typically open M - F, half days or longer on Saturdays. They're not considered private practice.

what do you do?

I've already told you this dick cheese. The position I hold is something along the lines of what is normally considered a pricing analyst. The company I work for, I'm assigned specific states we write in, and using both internal (quarterly/yearly) and external data, determine a fair and justifiable rating model to base auto insurance rates on.

It involves many factors. It's not just loss ratio data either. State specific laws also come into play, especially in Maryland which is one of my states. I look at zip code data, consumer reports, age, gender data, etc. It's very boring, but hey, it pays the bills and takes a unique and dedicated mind to be successful at it.

It's not as easy as it sounds either. Everything a pricing analyst changes from one rate revision to the next, must be approved by the state's DOI. It's not just free reign yay the insurance company calls all the shots. No, if you're unhappy about your rate, take it up with your state b/c those bastards are the ones who approved it.

Anything else you'd like to know, dick cheese?

I can't even begin to tell you how much I would avoid any sort of clinical trial that offered $7k for two weeks of work. You don't figure maybe there's a reason they need to pay people an exorbitant amount of money to do nothing except be guinea pigs?

this...

I have been trying to avoid the piling on threads unless I am directly invloved, but Starface, PLEASE don't brag about how great your life is in one post and then in the next post talk about the fact that you are entering a clinical trial to be a guinea pig.

In my old job we did consulting work for big drug firms like Novartis, Roche and MSD (Merck), and the one thing all the people there said they'd never do personally is participate in these things.

Be VERY careful as to what you test and what they make you sign.

Seriously.

It may seem very harmless, but it could easily cause irreparable damage to the kidneys, liver, pancreas etc...

And if you are gonna live that 'Hollywood Life' you'll need those in fine working order.

There is a reason they are testing it.

If you or JDG want a future in the oil industry, start out roughnecking or start out as a field hand for a service company (Halliburton/Schlumberger/BJ). If you like being outside, like cussing, like BSing all the time and like having fun, it's the job for you. There's a lot of down time (meaning you aren't slinging chains or tripping in pipe or running casing 24/7) but roughnecking can give you a lot of experience. It's a dangerous job but it will pay the bills for you and if you have a family and a wife that is really supportive, it can be a great job.

Just don't fall into the lifestyle all the way (strippers, dip/smoking 24/7, prostitutes) and you should be fine.

I have no desire to have a future in it. But the money around here would be great. And very little is needed other than a drivers license (obv got it) and h2os ticket (could easily get it).

Yah what I heard from everyone is try not to get into the lifestyle. Lots of drugs, booze and hookers. I smoke a ton already so they couldn't taint my soul with that lol.

i didnt create this thread about me. another poster did. apparently some people's world's (deucewallace, gobb, legend of josh, rufuspaul, petes montreux) actually do revolve around me. also, if you look at the commonality of physical appearance of those posters........you can see why some jealousy and vicarious living would come into play.

Why is posting headshots a big deal anyway? You guys do realize that literally anyone who wants headshots can get them right?

The real question is how the hell is this guy going to get any casting director or agent to take 15 seconds out of their day to acknowledge that he even exists. Headshots w/ no credits, no training, and a d*uchebag countenance/attitude= shit in your hands.

I'm curious how he does it as well. I wish him the best of luck though. If he makes it, it will make for a interesting story in itself.

To answer your question, it's beginning to look like all I really need to do it send a prospective agent a link to this thread, so he can see just how many people seem to be keen on following my every move.

HOWEVER, the time has come for me to stand on my principles. I will not post in this thread again until Gobb states what he does for a living. And it can't be a sarcastic, facetious, dismissive answer. Gobb has to state in complete earnest what it is he does for a living, as a profession, to earn income, etc.

Otherwise this thread and the prospect of my posting headshots in it are dead to me.

Oh no what are we to do now?

Tis but a fools dream to ever be in the stratosphere of intelligence that the great starface has entered. His original username is representative of many things: he is as bright and as hot as a star, his meteoric rise to the top of Hollywood is reminiscent of Haley's comet, legends like him are one in a generation.

Needless to say I would commit suicide just on the off chance that Hinduism is right and I were reborn as just one cell on this gods body. The risk of being wrong about Hinduism is worth the reward of being right.

I can't verify his agency but he definitely had a part on ER or some other episodic procedural medical drama. He had a link to it here at the time and he was good. He's got "a look", I'd put him in something. Tough to gauge someone's chops from limited footage but as long as you can deliver lines and hit your marks it's more about getting the opportunity than it is some profound rare talent. There are definitely some people with a gift for facial subtlety and other things that I might consider strong "virtues" of a screen actor, but I've worked enough now to where I really believe it's just a matter of having a certain look and being able to deliver lines. Some of these actors/actresses seem so shitty when you're filming but you shoot it so many times, shoot so much coverage, ADR, music/post production, by the time the final edit hits it's seamless. Other times they suck regardless but stay working because they're attractive or recognizable or whatever it is that keeps actors working.

n*gga please :oldlol:

Why is posting headshots a big deal anyway? You guys do realize that literally anyone who wants headshots can get them right?

I have seen some of the funniest f*cking headshots, I wish it were ethical to compile some of them for a funny bathroom reader. Hideous style, hideous choices, hair/makeup, expressions, etc. Amazing. We get these little printouts from central casting when we're casting weird shit like dead bodies or guys in the band (odd parts where we need a non speaking specialty role) that have 9 little polaroid type shots of actors, truly unbelievable, you can't believe the nut jobs in this town.

The real question is how the hell is this guy going to get any casting director or agent to take 15 seconds out of their day to acknowledge that he even exists. Headshots w/ no credits, no training, and a d*uchebag countenance/attitude= shit in your hands.

sadly there's a lot of truth to this, I was going to suggest (to you Starface) making a few things up on your resume. Commercials or plays back east maybe, I don't know. Not sure it matters but I know they aren't going to look into that stuff. And I stand by the suggestion of getting on low budget indy stuff so you can build up your reel. DonDadda will even admit there's a lot of luck involved. Luck and nepotism, you're gonna need a little bit of one or the other (or both). Be cool to everyone you meet on these productions, you never know who's going to be producing or directing some thing you'd like to be in.

anyways you guys should play nice, maybe you'll be in the next miami vice together. (someone with good photoshop skills please make a miami vice poster with starface as don johnson and don as tubbs)

LMAO! and now i've named the simple criteria for posting the shots, that being you stating on the record what exactly it is you do for a living, and you're like "pssh, i mean you know its no big deal if you post 'em or whatever"

lol phuckin gobb.

watch him wait 3 days pretending like he doesnt notice the thread and then finally make a post that has nothing to do with the clear, easy, totally resolvable solution, that being him just simply telling everyone what he does for a living.

gobb i remember one time we caught you in a lie about being a "junior accountant" maybe you could bs that again? hell, if you just up and tell everyone that you do nothing except live in your moms basement in the philly burbs i'll post the shot. of course, i remember you already tried to claim the "GOBB" that posted on phillyburbs.com wasn't you  i guess you have too much gangsta pride to admit to posting on a site about the suburbs.

time to man up, goob. you created a thread asking to see my headshot. you bumped the thread later in the week, asking to see it again.

all it takes now is for you to throw out a couple sentences describing what you do for a living. is that really enough to make you duck a thread in embarrassment????? :lol almost everyone here has given a description of what they do to earn income. it's your turn gobb. you started the thread and apparently a lot of people are reading it. and everyone's apparently eager to see the shots.

so it's all on you. let's go.

I made this thread because as you usually do? Invite us into your delusional world by telling us "I'll have headshot photos Wed, so you all can see!". I created a thread for entertainment purposes which I'm getting by the way as posters treat you like a human pinata. In hopes you actually do post headshots so we can all laugh and clown on them. And if you dont? Well we can roast you for lying further supporting how delusional you are as this road to Hollywood is one big daydream. Someone pinch starface. Or do your parents do that for you since they still support you financially?

I bumped this thread to see if you feed us some silly excuse or actually post them. Again for entertainment purposes and you dont fail there. Wed came and went and when I ask where the photos are? You reply "Hey just as i read your post I got an email with an attatchment of my headshots. I'll post them soon as they are airbrushed and photoshopped later this week". Later this week has 1 foot out the door and if you dont hurry it'll leave. Where are thou headshots o Romeo? You reply "I have them right here. Right now. But you have to tell me things about your life before I post them. I want to see if you are still dependant on your parents like I am. And well if you're not then i'll joke on whatever you do like I do DueceWallaces. Or if I cant joke on what you do like rufuspaul i'll make fun of your looks and age. Then I'll give you my redundant nonsense how my life > yours, my life to be >>>> yours blah blah blah. So yeah you want these headshots then you gotta give up something for it."

Hence why its not a big deal to me or anyone in this thread because you either post them or dont. We'll still joke on you regardless. No one wants to type we really dont care if he posts them or not. Why? You may not post them if you did go to the mall and take glamour shots lookin like Lil Jon Benet Ramsey. And well whatever headshots you have we'd like to see and just laugh at you. Sounds silly. But thats the truth of the matter. But why the holdup? You're coming off like Pacman. You're in here arguing with people who have jobs, bank accounts. And those who dont arent posting like they are actually someone important. Actually humble, cool not an assclown such as yourself. You're nothing more than an extra monthly bill for your parents. Until you lose that status? Until you lose that silver spoon in your mouth. Maybe we can chop it up a bit about life outside of the internet.

And about that finding me posting on another website? Thats balloney. I explained it to your simply minded self already. I have to hold your bike while you attempt to pedal again. My username on ISH was God of BBALL and Return of God of BBALL. Posters there shortened my username to "GOBB". So when ISH created this board we're on now? I just went with GOBB as my username. Everyone types it anyone, makes sense to use it right? You googled my username (like seriously) and noticed someone posted under "gobb" on a philly burb site. GOBB lives in Philly but moved to the burbs, this has to be him. Yet the date that user used "gobb" was prior to this board being created. And it was in lowercase, I type GOBB in caps. Also, healthcaresalaryonline.com reports that the average annual salary for a dentist is 135k per year. But the figure you made today, averaged over a year, would be just over 2 million. My, you're doing well.

By the way, the figure I'm making, extrapolated over a year, is 148k

uh ok, Bruinlove. He talked them up and told everyone he'd post them in exchange for some information (which he got). He even went out of his way to photoshop them up and post them mostly blacked out. Just shows hes not a man of his word, which was to be expected.

Whats the matter, havent been embarrassed enough by being factually incorrect in everythread in the OTC? Did I hurt your feelings and pride by repeatedly calling you on your bullshit?

actually no, i'm 25 and its been at that same point since i was about 20. theres a picture of me that everyone has seen here of me at the beach about three years ago and my hair is the exact same way. i have that thing where it goes back a little bit at the temple, but its not going away. it looks exaggerated because as i said, i just got my haircut. my uncle who i look just like is 43 and has the same hairline as i do.

AlPa has the same type thing:
