Nobody has talked about this but Ray-Ray hasn't re-signed with the Celtics yet and he would be THE perfect wing compliment to Lebron wherever he signs.

How much do you think the Celtics are going to offer Ray this offseason considering they'll already have Garnet and Pierce making 35M total next season, Rondo's new deal kicking in, Perkins at 5 million, Baby at 3 million, Sheed at the full midlevel?

If a team like NYK were to sign Lebron and a power forward, do you think RayRay would consider them for the full midlevel? Will Boston be willing to pay him more than that?

It likely hinges on if they win a chip. Even making it to the finals is incentive for him to stay, what with Rondos progress and their bench stepping up. The Celtics aren't quite done yet.

Also, his family and ill child are in Boston; I'd be surprised if he wanted to move from there.

They'll offer Ray like 8-10 mil for 2-3 years IMO. I don't see Ray leaving to join another team at this point in his career, but if he did leave to join LeBron it would be a perfect match.

LeBron could also work well with J.J. Reddick, J.J. could be a decent starter IMO, and his game is similar to Ray's current game.

Ray would be perfect in the Lebron-ball system, as it needs perimeter shoots who can also defend. But I don't see a Celtic helping out a Cav.

They could offer him 1 mill and he has to take it for that sick child, right? Think evil now!

for a year it would be ok. but lebron needs to get a team around him that can compete for titles for the next 7 years. that means talented young players under the age of 25 to 26 like bosh and rose. Its either the bulls or the nets....i like the bulls the most. now if we goes to the bulls and they sign ray allen i love it....but lebron can't stay in cleveland and have the same roster of aging players around him and expect the results to change.

Boston would not let that happen.

Ray would have to take the MLE to join Cleveland, he seems too comfortable in Boston to leave with Boston capable of offering him the same if not slightly more.

For the 1000th time, the Knicks do not have an MLE.

You only get the MLE when you are over the cap, not when you are under it.

Once their max players sign their contracts and the Knicks reach the cap, will they not be afforded a MLE?

No.

Technically, the Knicks have to renounce their MLE in order to use their full $56 million cap space.

Yea, the only have the vet minimum. And anyways Ray will get more then the MLE from the Celts to stay with them, they're over the cap anyways so they might as well keep him around for a couple more years.

ah i remember the free agent summer where the cavs' top SG choice dwindled from ray allen, to michael redd, to larry hughes.

funny how after all the moves they made, they missed out 5 years ago on the one deal that would've helped them the most.

half a decade later and lebron fans are still desperately in the hunt for players to join lebron because he needs more help. Only to later downplay their importance at every possible opportunity.

Poor form.
