Lol @ people saying that they heard "got it." It's clearly a "noooooooo." Furthermore, it's clearly someone who sounds a lot like Doug Collins... I thought that perhaps one of their mics may have picked up someone else's voice from the crowd, but their mics are precisely designed to prevent that.

I don't want to speculate on his reasoning for shouting out "noooooo," but I think we can all agree with moderate if not reasonable certainty that Doug Collins shouted out "nooooo" when Artest got the rebound and hit the shot off the glass. This one is pretty straight forward...

What are you talkin be professional about it? How about you spend time watching the video and see he didnt hate on the Lakers. It was a shot that drew many reactions by people. He didnt say no, as some little 12yr old kid upset his team lost. He said no at the disbelief Ron Artest came out of nowhere and put the shot up to win the game at the buzzer. He even called it an amazing finish.

How old are some of you posters? Under 16 then I can understand the replies.

thats what I thought as well. But with that said, his "noooo" didn't exactly sound neutral either, you could tell that he said it in a disbelieving, pissed-off sort of way. If you listen to the incident in an isolating slice of the game-film it almost sounds unsettling the way he said and how it interrupted the ESPN announcer's (forgot his name) call on the final play.

But, since it's doug collins and he doesn't have a track record of being too unbias you have to give him the benefit of the doubt. It's not like he says this everytime his team loses, or even loses a close game.

He even called it an amazing finish.

How old are some of you posters? Under 16 then I can understand the replies.

This. Especially the last line. Those Kobe trolls are probably around 16.

Anyone who isn't still in high school can pick up the tone of the no that he meant it in a disbelief way because artest flung that shot up.

i thought commentators were suppose to be impartial

Its time to bring nba back to nbc. ABC and BSPN, not surprisingly the same company, needs to go.

i thought it was on TNT?

little kiddies with no knowledge of the history of the game bashing Doug.

Doug hit probably two of the most important and pressure packed free throws in the history of American basketball in the Olympics in the 70s. He was part of the US team that was cheated by the Russians. The dude loves and breaths basketball. Sure he's just hating and jealous :oldlol:

i think you are giving him too much credit here, when does someone yell NO as a sign of surprise? doesnt NO come out suddenly cause you dont want something to happen?

You've never heard somebody say "No way" when they are surprised? Or something say "Shut up" even though they want to hear more? It could be the same elicit response.

Lakers fans are obsessed with creating "haters" so they can feel like it's them against the world. They create "haters" out of thin air, just to keep the flock together. "Oh, what's that? You don't think the Lakers will win a title every year for the next decade and that Kobe is the single greatest ball player and human in the history of civilization? SMH, hater. Just keep hatin'."

lol lakers fans = lames.

this. theyre so used to the Laker bandwagon kissing each other's asses, that they become whiny and immature anytime someone says something bad about the lakers.

Am I the only person here who watched this game at a sports bar outside of California? Everyone said "Noooo!" or "WTF". The Suns are the underdogs and the Lakers are like the Yankees of basketball. Who do you think America is rooting for? Add to that Collins' personal ties to Gentry, Hill and the fact that he lives in Phoenix and it is not surprising he said this.

I am certainly not a Lakers fan, and I felt that Doug Collins was rooting for the Suns in this game. Not trying to "create haters". Just had that feeling.

i dont think that no is in that "NOOOOOOO!!! please dont let this happen" way, it was more like "WOW NO WAY!" at artests crazy fling going in.

but of course, the first page is full of idiots throwing disses and talking trash.

it was a "No" of disappointment, you can hear it in his voice. I don't see why people are trying to deny it, its not really a big deal. He has all the ties to the phoenix team and he lives in that city; heck during halftime of the game they shows doug giving hill pointers. I would expect him to root for the Suns. It was a heat of the moment completely unexpected type of thing, he immediately regained composure afterwards. The guy is very knowledgeable about the game and I have always liked him as an announcer.

Im sure every basketball fan had some sort of reaction right when they saw artest get the rebound then put it up. It was exciting.

I do not care if you like or hate the Lakers , it's just a cool win , having a Laker great barf up a forced shot , airballing it , Artest comes in scootz one in. :applause:

The first guy that congradulated him was the bear hugging Byrant

That is what playoff basketball is all about.

I mean who knows, may be cause he's a Suns fan, or it may be because he gets paid extra for doing overtimes and was upset at losing out on some extra change. Oh well, either way it's not "hating".

At the same time Doug is a big fan of Kobe though, so I don't get why so many laker fans hate Doug. I think he is one of the best analysts around today.
