The Houston Chronicle reports:

Houston Rockets center Yao Ming might not be back on the track quite yet, but he cleared a key hurdle on Thursday to get there.

An extensive physical on Yao

I want him to miss out a few games to start off the season or keep his minutes to like 15-20 so he doesn't injure himself again.

Sorry to post this mundane question here, but I need aid!

I have to do a 1 hour Software Best Practices Training for some
programmers in my company. Audience are Freshers to couple of years
experience guys.

Can you guys please suggest some relevant topics I can cover?

I could think of the following:

1) Importance of following coding standards, indentation
2) Proper naming of files, variables, functions, classes, tables. (http://thesportsbettingchamp.blog.friendster.com/2010/12/the-sports-betting-champ),
columns, views and all other artifacts
3) Layer your application - each layer must address a specific
concern
4) Abstract common stuff into reusable utility classes

Any aid will be greatly appreciated
(A positive response to this post & I promise I will contribute to
the community by replying to at least 10 threads!)

Hi

I'm trying to decide which book to get. I have chosed two, (http://liored28o.tripod.com/bestsportsbettingsystem) Absolute C++ by Walter Savich and C++ Primer. Anybody know if one is better than the other?

Any assist on this would be well appreciated. Thanks.

No, it is a common misconception. A new standard will probably not change C a huge amount to the casual observer. it should certainly maintain backwards compatability whereever possible. What it will, (http://happygrl76e.livejournal.com/1665.html) most likely do is standardise certain extensions (some POSIX C extensions spring to mind) which are commonly used.

Bear in mind a standard is exactly that - a document detailing the language. This is nothing to do with the practical side of things (compiler writing) at that stage. After the standard has been finalised and released, then it is up to the compiler writers to implement it... implementation is simple compared to creating the standard

I don't know C++ so can't help you specifically but it seems like you have a reasonable request - have a look on Google to see how others have solved it. (http://bettingchamp234.wetpaint.com/page/Awesome+sports+betting+strategy+%2837%29) If you find a solution would be great if you could post it here for future reference

You need to have at least 300 posts (I think) if you want to PM someone.
