He wasn't kicked off the Olympic team. Slovenia has never played in the Olympics. He was kicked off the junior national team and the senior team twice at the EuroBasket.

Once they were so pissed off at him that the coach told him he was sending him to pick up another coach and to meet him. He told him to go with the bus driver to get this guy. Then the coach paid the bus driver to drive 100 miles into the middle of nowhere and drop Sasha off there and drive off.

They even grabbed his phone so he would not have it. And the bus driver did it. Supposedly as the story goes the coaches and the players got together and decided to do that.
