I don't see how that would exclude someone as a possible marriage partner, no. Everyone has a journey. Some are bumpier than others. I do think it's very unlikely that someone who spent such a large portion of her life living that way would be the kind of person I would want to have a serious relationship with, both because of the instability aspect and the more-likely-to-be-a-shallow-person aspect, but neither of these necessarily hold as essential to who they are. Often it's the ones with the most capacious intellects and imaginations who get caught up in that stuff simply because, as pretty girls coming from crappy backgrounds, they don't know what else to do with themselves.

First of all honesty and the courage that comes with it, secondly breadth of perspective and an earnest desire to live well and the awareness of one's shortcomings and a certain grace accompanying the awareness of these things are the most attractive qualities in people, to me. What is it that makes a woman a slut to me? A women that has had her fair share of "casual sex" meaning at least more than 5 times... is that a fair analysis?

I use the word slut a little bit too much... there are sluts... and then there are "TRUE Sluts".... a true slut embraces the fact that she enjoys sleeping around, but most women are in fact "closet sluts".... or at one point in their life had a secret slutty past... even if it was just for a brief time period.

I think the slut level is well < 50%. A person's history is always part of her. And if a person's history is bad, the chance is great that the person's future will be bad, too. There's always that worry, that the person will regress, or that the reformed person is only temporary. And if you place a high value on yourself by placing a high value on the people you spend your time and energy and love on, you're going to have a natural worry that you're wasting it, and might turn off the second the girl volunteers the "girl with a past" stigma onto herself.

And generally, I think that's about right. But human relationships are never "general." Every story is different, and every action means something different to the person who has to live with it. I don't think, therefore, that it's wise to make sweeping claims about past actions that automatically invalidate you as a potential partner. This is the formula I use to determine how much of a slut this girl could of possibly been in the past... The key is to find out how many years they were in a long term relationship... the more years the better.

Did she have a serious boyfriend in highschool or college?... If yes, it's a positive note.


Sometimes when I've had a few beers I'll just ask the girl: "Sooo..... How many guys have you slept with your entire life?".... their reaction is always priceless.
