2222 post celebration. (or 11.000 something if you count my former account)...here we go...

1-100: http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32602
101-350: http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99542
350-425: http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126102
426-550: http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171168

551 . Bill Russell being underrated.
552 . Wilt being overrated.
553 . Blatche's hunt for a triple double.
554 . The hype surrounding very tall players who will never make it to the NBA.
555 . Bol shooting threes.
556 . Great interviews. http://www.48minutesofhell.com/2010/05/31/hey-man-its-ice-an-interview-with-george-gervin/
557 . THIS: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Eltonbrand
558 . Speaking of interviews. Who's the best interviewee per season? Barkley's up there. Who else?
559 . Sometimes you can just see which players will become good coaches. I mentioned it before probably, but can we count down till Ollie wins his first college championship?
560 . Waiting for Rubio to show he's overrated.
561 . Us letting Maggette go, trading away Thornton, and then Clippers fans wanting us to sign Gay. How often do we need to make the same mistake?
562 . I'm not hoping for injuries, but Redd's injury certainly helped the Bucks. He reminds me so much of Allan Houston it's crazy.
563 . Can we see more of Austin Daye please?
564 . I don't like watching Bron play. Really. I don't think he's fun to watch, other than him being very good. Every time I hear someone say
565 . Corey Maggette going from a great defender in Orlando to a offense-only player in LA.
566 . Which other players than LJ sported gold caps? I can't recall any. Shouldn't there be a lot more? It's not like gold caps never were a fad.
567 . Wade lost me as a #1 fan the moment he started putting band aids under his eye. **** off. It kind off marked a change in the way he carried himself. From humble to cocky. He's still great to watch on the court, but come on.
568 . Deandre Jordan going 11-12 on fg's in a game. 10 dunks.
569 . What makes Chris Bosh and Amare so great exactly? Gimme Kevin Willis any day.
570 . Brings me to this: We need to start appreceating defense more. Detroit winning the ring brought back a little appreciation, but it's gone already.
571 . Can Ewing please teach Dhoward some moves? I know I just preached defense, but this is getting redicicicilous. Pat Ewing started out as
572 . Darrington Hobson will be a nice role player. He's underrated.
573 . Kermit Washington.
574 . Basically NBA Fights in general. We need more of those.
575 . Wayne 'Goose' Embry once played the Lakers as a rookie for the Royals, he was so excited he forgot his gym bag, which contained his uniform. Embry did play the game however, wearing a Lakers tenue turned inside out. We need pics.
576 . The Chocolate Thunder-flying, Robinzine-crying, teeth-shaking, glass-breaking, rump-roasting, bun-toasting, wham-bam, glass-breaker jam.
577 . Jennings didnt need college: http://www.jsonline.com/sports/bucks/67381447.html
578 . People wanting players to bust a bit too much. Not every top ten pick which doesnt put up 20/10 in their rookie year is a bust.
579 . Red fining a player 25 dollars for "for insulting [his] intelligence", after busting the player with a hooker on each arm and getting the excuse they were his 'cousins' and the player was taking them to 'church'.
580 . Billups becoming one of the best PG's in the league, slowly but surely.
581 . Manute Bol chipped his teeth on the rim the first time ever he tried to dunk.
582 . Clippers make a play for Mavericks' Wang http://www.anecdotage.com/pics/clippers.jpg
583 . Whiteside = Deandre? Even their situation as a rookie is alike. Stuck behind a whole lot of big bodies.
584 . Van Exel & Rose: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw-0ln9L48c
585 . Can we get rid of Cuban? Mavs are too much Cuban too little winning. The spotlight is for the players not owners.
586 . Barkley spitting on a girl.
587 . This great Francis anecdote: ""Let me tell you a little about my first meeting with seattle's Gary Payton," Steve Francis remarked. "We were playing an exhibition game, and being point guard I guess he felt like he had to make a point. Just before tipoff he planted a kiss on my cheek and said, 'Here we go.' And we went. Every time down the floor, he unveiled one of his Dream Team moves and then followed up with a few choice words for me. 'Punk-ass rookie *****' were a few of them." GREAT.
588 . Stephen Curry.
589 . There are some players who you'd never recognize as a ballplayer. The best of the all is probably Carl Herrera.
590 . SVG's thoughts on LeBron's ESPN special, "The Decision": Come on, an hour long? It takes 15 seconds to say "I've decided to stay in Cleveland" but we've got another 59 minutes and 45 seconds to, what? Promote LeBron James? As if we don't do that enough. THANK YOU SVG!
591 . Kobe's 2nd 'solo' ring. Well deserved.
592 . This: http://a323.yahoofs.com/ymg/ept_sports_nba_experts__48/ept_sports_nba_experts-719071459-1269467851.jpg?ymL7B4CDL5fArd.F
593 . Countdown till the Sonics get a new team. They deserve it.
594 . Taunting. Bring it back. We need more waving, pointing and screaming after dunks and blocks. **** you Stern. *Waives finger at Stern.*
595 . Was there ever a hairier player than Roberto Duenas? And in the NBA? Don't say Villanueava.
596 . Gimme a modern day comparison to Kelly Tripucka.
597 . Funny story about him too: When Layden resigned as the Jazz coach in '89, Karl Malone wrote "FRANK" on the heels of his shoes. Kelly Tripucka responded by writing "DICK" on his own shoes (his Hornets coach back then was Dick Harter), as a jab to both Layden and Malone, who he felt ran him out of Utah. I love these little stories. Layden once left the stadium during the game. He was coaching the Jazz but turned over coaching duties when they were behind 128-108 or something to get a sandwich around the corner. Speaking of Kelly, and tocuhing the subject of shoes earlier: Kelly was once cited as wearing more than 60 pairs of shoes during the course of a season because he was sweating so much it ruined his shoes.
598 . The Warriors' Cohan picking Don Nelson over Chris Webber and then firing Nellie shortly thereafter. And you thought the Clipps were bad?
599 . Pat Riley only got his first chance at being a head coach when headcoach Jack McKinney had a bicycle accident and assistent coach Paul Westhead had a kidney stone removed.
600 . Who will be the next big nuttcase in the NBA? Artest is growing old, Arenas might be taking a step back. Any guys from the current draft class who seem to be missing any chromosomes?

dough

601 . Brad Miller's hand in KG's face.
602 . www.raremesh.com. I need to update more often though, working on getting my jerseys online. Each one has it's own story.
603 . What was Dumars thinking paying two back up scorers that much money?
604 . Funny how huge contracts look pretty ok after a few years. Compare Granger to Gay, JJ and some others and his contracts seems very reasonable right now. Who keeps overpaying these SG/SF's anyway?
605 . Wade fixing Eddie Jordan's tie.
606 . NBA Numbers. I used to be able to recall almost every number in the league back when UpperDeck used player's numbers as indication for their cards. Kemp was #140 in 94-95. Payton 220. Etc. I was able to recall the most obscure jersey numbers. Lee Mayberry #11, Bucks.
607 . Thunder doing very well in 2010 without any true post presence. Ibaka maybe but he needs more time.
608 . Speaking of... Serge Ibaka. He'll be a beast.
609 . Waiting for big name players to get signed. Dear god, can we stop speculating?
610 . Dirk & Pierce taking paycuts this summer. Good stuff.
611 . Draft mocks always comparing a white player to another white one. I wonder which player Brent Barry got compared to. Even though Joe Alexander got compared to Marion, nbadraft.net HAD to slip in Guggliotta.
612 . Speaking of which, that guy was so underrated it's crazy. If he would have been able to stay healthy...
613 . Ebay sucks. You'll hardly find any nice obscure jerseys anymore. There's a couple of sellers trying to fetch 50-100 dollars for jerseys I found for 10 dollars a year ago. It's ruined.
614 . The more blocks you geet as a player, the bigger the chance you're a retard in the NBA. I love blocking shots btw.
615 . This: "In a game early in the 78/79 season, Al Skinner and Eric Money played for the Nets, and Harvey Catchings played for Philadelphia. The game was suspended because of a protest and was scheduled to be made up at a later date. Before the game could be replayed, however, the Nets traded Skinner and Money to the 76ers in exchange for Catchings and another player who was injured when the teams first met. When the suspended game was finally continued, Eric Money and Al Skinner played for Philadelphia against Harvey Catchings and his New Jersey Nets teammates."
616 . None of the other big FA's actually trying to team up with Amare so far this summer. Shoudl tell you something...
617 . Master P with the Hornets. As if.
618 . Goggles. Rambis, Woolridge, Abdul. Horace. Worthy. Amare. Who's your favorite?
619 . Ekpe Udo's draft suit. Horrible.
620 . Rod Hundley to Elgin Baylor after Baylor scored 71 points: "What a night we had, buddy! Seventy-three points between us!" Classic.
621 . In 1981 the Warriors drafted a Chinese player in the 8th round. This guy had the nickname Chibi (Shorty in China) and measured 7'8"!
622 . Corey Brewer dunking over people.
623 . I usually hate Twitter, but this is good stuff: http://twitter.com/wzzntzz/statuses/12016605173
624 . Joakim Noah's bowtie @ draft night.
625 . Finally. Robert Pack & Vernon Maxwell jerseys are in. Now @ 102 jerseys, might retire from buying them now.
626 . This story on the best player we (Netherlands) ever had: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=walton_bill&id=1743087
627 . Finally playing ball again myself. 2-4 hours a week indoors, and as much as possible outdoors. Great group with ~15 people, good level too. If you're ever in The Netherlands feel free to PM me, and you can join for a 5 on 5.
628 . Bill Walton's knees on this pic: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4069/4336796097_b604f00aa5_o.jpg
629 . RIP Manute Bol.
630 . This story: "As they were leaving the practice facility Wednesday, the morning of their final shootaround together, Bonzi Wells and Rasheed Wallace saw Ruben Boumtje Boumtje shooting jump shots some 100 feet away with his back turned to them. Wallace slapped Wells on the back and said, “Watch this.” Then he picked up a ball, reared back and fired a 100-foot, baseball-style strike that left Boumtje Boumtje writhing the floor. Trainers were summoned. After a few scary minutes, Boumtje Boumtje walked off, OK. Wells and Wallace? They giggled like schoolchildren and ran away the moment their teammate hit the canvas." Crazy.
631 . Shaq spending $26.560 a month for babysitters: http://oc-divorce.typepad.com/california_divorce_and_fa/2008/01/shaqs-expenses.html
632 . NBA family. Dunny & Dunny. Wilkins and Wilkins. Price and Price. Grant and Grant.
633 . Speaking of which, Grant Long. He was great. And he was Terry Mills' cousin.
634 . Speaking of which #2. Terry Mills' mantits. Does anybody here recall Horry's dunk on Mills? That was close to Davis on Nash'-crazy.
635 . Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo
636 . Can you imagine this? "According to a study done in 1989, NBA centers, on average, wear out 40-45 pairs of basketball shoes per season. Forwards are little easier on their feet. They wear out only 35-40 pairs of shoes per season. NBA guards take care of their feet. They go through only about 30 pairs of shoes a year!". I'd be amazed if there are any stars wearing the same shoes twice nowadays.
637 . Akeem.
638 . Rodney Rogers stay strong!
639 . Alternative Miami names before they settled for 'Heat': Alligators, Armadillos, Bagels, Beachballs Flaming Sandals, Frosts, Gophers, Groupers, Hookers and Hornets. Manatees (no swagger), Men 'o' War, Mooners, Muggers, Pit Bulls, Stone Crabs and The Vice. The choices were narrowed down to three: Heat, Flamingos(!!!) and Waves. Stephanie Freed was one of the people who submitted Heat and won two season tickets, a picture with the team and two tickets to see Julio Iglesias (part owner) perform in the new Arena. This was two years prior to the first Heat game.
640 . Another one: Why are the Pistons called the Pistons? The team was already named the Pistons when they moved to Detroit. In the first of the 17 years in Fort Wayne, where they started out, they were called the Zollner Pistons. Team Owner Fred Zollner had a company, Zollner Machine Works, which manufactured psitons.
641 . The Mavericks was a name which edged out the Armadillos (again!), Express and Sanildarters(?).
642 . Orlando suggestions which didnt make it: Tropics, Heat, Juice. Others: Addicts, Assassins, Backstabbers (lol), World Trotters, Ceetahs, Cockraoches (lol again), Cumulonimbus, Dirigibles, Eager Beavers(yes!), Fruit Pluckers, Gargylets, Honey Bees, Jedi, Lay Away Refundables, Lizards, Mice Squad, Navels, Orange Possums, Ponce de Leones, Rednecks, Scalpers (nice) and Yeastmen. And Babes. Orlando Babes.
643 . Saving my 1000's upon 1000's of basketball cards, hoping they would be worth something in a decade or more. Now they're worth ... jack shit.
644 . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KN_2XObVfcw Bit too much Rose in the top 15 imo, but very very nice.
645 . I've got this feeling about Lance Stephenson. I think he might be actually become really good. If so, it's time to start overrating these kids again during the draft. See Jennings.
646 . Yi Jianlian, really 34 years old and not that good. Now Washington wants a piece of that.
647 . Was Darko REALLY the first player signed this offseason?
648 . Bob Lanier had size 22 shoes. 22!!
649 . In 1980 the Pistons held an open tryout after winning just 16 games the season prior. 390 players attended, 60 of them 6 ft and shorter, 100 of them with only HS experience, 30 wihtout even HS experience. None of them made it.
650 . And if basketball fails me, I can still root for our football team... GO ORANJE!

Dough, do you really feel like this topic deserves it's own thread? Why not wait until a real milestone number to post a milestone celebration thread?

Thanks guys, seems like Excel ****ed up a few reasons, I'll edit those later today. I'm currently working on turning ech point into a blog post at my own blog, but that takes a shitload of time.

I never understood why LJ was the only one. He made it look bad ass but it's not like nobody else wore it in real life.

BTW, might be a waste of time indeed bballer. It will take a lot of time before I hit the 2500 on ish, if ever. No biggie though, I add on to the list during the course of the season about every few days.

Thanks. Seeing as the offseason is nearing I might turn a few of these into elaborated topics in the future.
