Which is why I don't understand why the '90 Hawks are there. I would replace them with the '93 Suns & replace the '90 Pistons with the '89 Pistons (Rick Mahorn) & it would be perfect. But it still bothers me that the showtime Lakers are not there.

1993 Bulls should be on it over 1990 Bulls. The challenge in 1993 should be to average 41 ppg in the finals on 50+ FG%. **** scoring 69 in a regular season game.

Well the 91 Lakers are gonna be on it. Not exactly showtime, but not too far from it either.

But yeah, hopefully in future games, they can have other classic teams as well like the 87/01 Lakers or the 89 Pistons along with classic stadiums and have the presentation of the game reflect that era as well (like NBA on NBC  ).

The Rockets won TWO championships in the 90's. C'mon, how can they not have them? They have the rights to Olajuwon and Drexler, they're always on the 90's/80's decade teams.

No classic Sixers, no old school Celtics and Lakers from the 60s, 70s Knicks.

My bad, didn't realize it was only teams that were involved in Jordan's signature moments.

Even then... while they're there doing this kind of stuff, they might as well include some signature 90's teams.

Most Egregious Misses (unless they're DLC)
1) 94-95 Rockets
2) 92-93 Suns
3) 93-94 Rockets
4) 97-98 Pacers
5) 95-96 Magic

Here's the problem.

2KSports has to pay for the right to include Jordan and use his likeness. This doesn't happen often because Jordan has a ridiculous price and this is a one year deal.

They can go wild next year and have a bunch of classic teams, but they might not have the Jordan Bulls. And that, of course, will blow. While they have this opportunity, they might as well maximize it.

Maybe to see how bad they were before MJ became the GOAT? Note: MJ was the best player in the NBA from 86-98. Scoring title every year in that span (other than the retired years), and after going 0/4 for rings, went 6/6. Monster.

As it stands right now, according to a 2K guy (from an ESPN article), all starters on the classic teams are accounted for as well as a large portion of the benches. He said to this moment they're still making progress and the goal is to have everyone accounted for (though I doubt that will happen) so like you, I hope the stragglers can be edited in. Still, it's cool it seems most of the major guys will be there.

Also, there will be classic court art from what I've heard as well as at least one confirmed classic arena (The Forum). Further, shorts will be short when the era dictates.

Instead of making these stupid one year team garbage craps, they need to make "All time teams" for each franchise.

You know, "All time Lakers team", with Magic, Kareem, Shaq, Kobe, Worthy, etc on it.

"All time Spurs", with Duncan, PRIME David Robinson, Ginobili, Avery Johnson, Sean Elliot, George Gervin, etc on it.

^ I would much rather have "all time teams" than some stupid "teams in certain years" garbage. I'm sure every fan of the NBA would love to play with their favorite team's "all time team". I couldn't give two shits about nearly all of these classic teams they're rolling out this time. I'm interested in like 2 of them. 16 garbage, 2 somewhat interesting.

I wonder why they didn't include our 09-10 Cleveland Cavaliers. We historically got a 66 win season, then historically failed and gave up with 1 minute left in the game in the playoffs as we watched LeBron take off his Cavaliers jersey immediately almost in disgust like, "Get this shit off of me." HISTORIC!

Why the **** would the 1985-1986 Bulls be on it?
The list (with the exception of the Dominique Wilkins Hawks squad) correlates directly with 10 Jordan performances known as the "Jordan Challenge". It is 2K's way of making use of Jordan's name, rather than just throwing him on the cover and putting him in the free agents. The 1986 Bulls are present for Jordan's '63 on Boston (which is why '86 Boston is availabe as well).

It was noted the Jordan 69 against Cleveland was selected over Jordan's "Shot" against Cleveland in a toss-up because it'd provide the user with a higher clip to shoot (plus they couldn't let themselves skip Jordan's career high). I think they would have found having both Cleveland games to be a little redundant, particulary considering they already had two Jazz squads.

There hasn't been any really hinting at any more teams being available aside from the statement that these 18 clubs are the ones that are immediately available (as if there may be more). Also, there's supposedly a nice unlockable for completing all the challenges.

I knew this, but I felt the Suns series should have been on there instead of the 1990 game against the Cavs.

In the Suns series he set the record for finals ppg with 41 ppg. The goal should have been 41 ppg and 50%+ FG

If they have this one on there, then why not the Suns series?

1991 NBA Finals
When: June 2 thru June 12, 1991 vs. Lakers
Goal 1: Average 31.0+ points
Goal 2: Shoot 55%+ from the field
Goal 3: Win the series

Yeah I feel ya there. It seems like they had a hard time narrowing it down but if I had to guess, I'm thinking the decision for the Lakers inclusion had a lot to do with the fact that it was the Lakers. I'm guessing they presumed a Jordan vs. Magic matchup would be cool.

It's surely to each their own, as I'm completely on the opposite end of the spectrum here. I'd much rather have specific teams. For a number of years (at least two anyway) 2K did have All-Time teams for a selection of clubs (i.e. All-Time Sonics). Each squad had sort of a generic team uniform (a bland mix between each era) and it just felt too fantastical for my own liking. Fake teams, fake uniforms. . .it just felt off. It sounded a lot cooler on paper.

The specific teams ('90 Pistons) work a lot better for me because there's a sense of realism and historical relevance. I guess that's what I like about the basketball games, their attempted simulation of real life basketball games. And the idea to reenact some all-time great matchups is really, really cool to me.

Just a quick reminder, all the opposing historic teams are based on the clubs that Jordan happened to be facing during the 10 Great Jordan Moments 2K selected. Therefore, unless they counted Nick Anderson pick-pocketing no. 45 MJ then I'm thinking any Bulls/Magic matchup wouldn't quite make the cut (even though they had some entertaining series).

It may be slim hope, but I was still kind of holding onto some hope that maybe a few more clubs would be available for further unlocking (or maybe even for downloadable content).

Agree with you. Who would want to play "All Time" teams when different eras would make it impossible to assume who they'd played with each other. 2K is a sim game. It'll be nice to play as the Pistons and try and dominate the 2010 Heat

Mark Jackson, Travis Best
Reggie Miller, Chris Mullin
Jalen Rose, Austin Croshere, Al Harrington
Dale Davis, Derrick Mckey, Jonathan Bender
Rik Smits, Sam Perkins, Jeff Foster,

oh yeah and a little fella I like to call Zan Tabak.

not to mention a 56-26 record and going 6 games in the finals against the Lakers

For the 10th time, the teams that were there were because of the 10 Jordan Challenges.

I knew this, but I felt the Suns series should have been on there instead of the 1990 game against the Cavs.

In the Suns series he set the record for finals ppg with 41 ppg. The goal should have been 41 ppg and 50%+ FG

If they have this one on there, then why not the Suns series?
No Suns team cause no Barkley in the game.

That's the same thing I thought. But then the pessimistic side of me decided that "for you to play this year" meant they might add more, but for 2K12.

They have the 91 Bulls vs the 91 Lakers as far as the rest, I am hoping they will make them downloadable, I would love to see 60's Celts, 80 Lakers, 83 Sixers, 2001 Lakers, Spurs

The Rockets won TWO championships in the 90's. C'mon, how can they not have them? They have the rights to Olajuwon and Drexler, they're always on the 90's/80's decade teams.

Yet the Jazz get two teams?

B.S.

I think both of those Jazz teams lost to arguably the best team in NBA history...and had 60+ win seasons both seasons...
