I talked to LD about it several times. It started out as a joke, but he began to actually care for and represent Charlie. I compared it to a new form of Stockholm Syndrome, in which hostages actually begin to deeply care for those that are holding them against their will.

It turned out that I ended up feeling really sorry for the guy. Here's this doofus who was dealt a pretty shitty hand in life who's just trying to follow his dream of being a pro boxer and puts himself out there for the world to see only to be relentlessly shit on by everyone. He came to ISH and this pack of scum from other websites followed him here for the sole purpose of tearing him down. They were purely cruel and had no creativity at all, they just wanted to rile him up and take shots at him. Charlie became like a retarded younger cousin to me, I was able to stick up for him better than he could stick up for himself and I hated the idea of being a fake fan so I decided to just support him as best I could. For the most part I'd just check his youtube page and make funny comments when he put out new videos. We'd shoot messages back and forth every now and then too, on two occasions he alerted me to scheduled fist fights he'd orchestrated through his internet shit talking, I showed up both times with a camera and took photos (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=165989) (can't find the Nino thread or photos, anyone know where that is?). Charlie had a slew of professional fights scheduled, none of which happened, by some fault of his own (fight would be delayed and he'd cuss the promoter or quit boxing or any number of other forms of burning the bridge) and by some fault of this slummy low level promoter in arkansas (Stacy Goodson, owner of the TPS- Trailer Park Series). After trying to fix a fight in the TPS, Charlie switched (for the third time) to MMA and has a "rematch" with Andrew Hartley in Jersey in October. I was keeping up with Charlie's training and posted a few messages on his website (charliezelenoff.com, one of the most convoluted, self-absorbed piece of shit sites you'll ever see, I recommend joining just so you can read the thread titles... priceless)

Where it all went wrong

On the few occasions where I tried to talk to Charlie about where all the "haters" came from, he was very dismissive and standoffish. I ended up writing him a really long and critical letter about treating people with more respect and not exaggerating (lying about) his "accomplishments" and trying to get out of the egocentric little charlie-land bubble he lived in. Get a job, get a girlfriend, don't spend all day talking shit on the internet. It's simply not okay for spoiled white kids to say "I'm gonna send you back to slavery, n*gga", etc. It was met with extreme disdain and anger. I had to convince him it was from a place of caring and there was a brief time where I thought he actually processed some of it and seemed to be at least surface level trying to make some changes in the humility and reality departments. Recently I made a comment about the Hartley fight being "pathetic" and Charlie flipped out and started calling me all sorts of names and saying he should have punched me when I showed up to the Oleg debacle to support him. I told him that if he'd put his hands on me I would have put him to sleep. That pretty much sent him off the deep end. He went ballistic. Name calling, threats, endless shit talk. I pretty much laid into him at that point, called him on a ton of shit I'd held my tongue about, it was pretty harsh and thorough but I'd had enough of this kid and his thick headed bull shit. I told him if he wanted I would happily agree to a fair fight, he could bring his buddy who films everything and I would bring a buddy to film it (Charlie twists everything to his favor so I wouldn't consider an altercation without video evidence, he somehow managed to spin the oleg confrontation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcvekafS34I) into a personal victory) and that was it. I explicitly stated that this was to be 1 on 1 with no bullshit. When I'd arrived at the Nino confrontation Nino's friends said Charlie's friend had shown them a gun. I told him I didn't want any bullshit like that - I didn't want this to be mayhem with a bunch of people there and my only priority was not going to jail. If he would meet me and go toe to toe with me in a fair fight I would accept and publish the results, win, lose, or draw. He agreed at first to meet at the hollywood gym where he said we could fight in the ring. That night he sent me close to 100 messages... here are SOME of the highlights

So the video in the OP is the result of me and my friend (camera man) not wanting to possibly get jumped by 9 guys with bats and knives in a parking lot and Charlie feeling like he's proven my cowardice. Big win for Charlie, clearly.

Anyways I'm not a fighter, I've been punched breaking up fights more often than I have been in fights involving me. I'm a gentle soul who only really gets violently angry when people or animals are mistreated or bullied. Having said that, I'm gonna beat this kid down and you're gonna get to see it. There are plenty of 150 pound guys that could kick my ass, I'm not saying me being bigger (stronger, smarter...) is the only determining factor here but it's very easy for me to pick up a 150 pound kid and slam him. so Charlie paid to take some MMA lessons at a local gym and got 5 lessons into his 10 lesson package and got too big for his britches and tried to take his trainer who basically submitted him instantly. Charlie came home and start bragging that he'd beaten his trainer "3 rounds to 0" (the "fight" was little more than a sparring session gone too far).

my initial reaction to Charlie was just like everyone's, this guy is a total loser. I saw one or two of his classic temper tantrum call-out videos laden with ignorance, false bravado, and bigotry. I saw his pro debut, the "fight" with Hartley (the worst fighter in the world) where he quit 90 seconds in. He showed up at ISH one day (he'd apparently been here before) promoting an upcoming second pro fight. I thought it would be funny to play the role of this over-the-top super fan who was blindly loyal to this complete f*ck head.

It turned out that I ended up feeling really sorry for the guy. Here's this doofus who was dealt a pretty shitty hand in life who's just trying to follow his dream of being a pro boxer and puts himself out there for the world to see only to be relentlessly shit on by everyone. He came to ISH and this pack of scum from other websites followed him here for the sole purpose of tearing him down. They were purely cruel and had no creativity at all, they just wanted to rile him up and take shots at him. Charlie became like a retarded younger cousin to me, I was able to stick up for him better than he could stick up for himself and I hated the idea of being a fake fan so I decided to just support him as best I could. For the most part I'd just check his youtube page and make funny comments when he put out new videos. We'd shoot messages back and forth every now and then too, on two occasions he alerted me to scheduled fist fights he'd orchestrated through his internet shit talking, I showed up both times with a camera and took photos (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=165989) (can't find the Nino thread or photos, anyone know where that is?). Charlie had a slew of professional fights scheduled, none of which happened, by some fault of his own (fight would be delayed and he'd cuss the promoter or quit boxing or any number of other forms of burning the bridge) and by some fault of this slummy low level promoter in arkansas (Stacy Goodson, owner of the TPS- Trailer Park Series). After trying to fix a fight in the TPS, Charlie switched (for the third time) to MMA and has a "rematch" with Andrew Hartley in Jersey in October. I was keeping up with Charlie's training and posted a few messages on his website (charliezelenoff.com, one of the most convoluted, self-absorbed piece of shit sites you'll ever see, I recommend joining just so you can read the thread titles... priceless)

Where it all went wrong

On the few occasions where I tried to talk to Charlie about where all the "haters" came from, he was very dismissive and standoffish. I ended up writing him a really long and critical letter about treating people with more respect and not exaggerating (lying about) his "accomplishments" and trying to get out of the egocentric little charlie-land bubble he lived in. Get a job, get a girlfriend, don't spend all day talking shit on the internet. It's simply not okay for spoiled white kids to say "I'm gonna send you back to slavery, n*gga", etc. It was met with extreme disdain and anger. I had to convince him it was from a place of caring and there was a brief time where I thought he actually processed some of it and seemed to be at least surface level trying to make some changes in the humility and reality departments. Recently I made a comment about the Hartley fight being "pathetic" and Charlie flipped out and started calling me all sorts of names and saying he should have punched me when I showed up to the Oleg debacle to support him. I told him that if he'd put his hands on me I would have put him to sleep. That pretty much sent him off the deep end. He went ballistic. Name calling, threats, endless shit talk. I pretty much laid into him at that point, called him on a ton of shit I'd held my tongue about, it was pretty harsh and thorough but I'd had enough of this kid and his thick headed bull shit. I told him if he wanted I would happily agree to a fair fight, he could bring his buddy who films everything and I would bring a buddy to film it (Charlie twists everything to his favor so I wouldn't consider an altercation without video evidence, he somehow managed to spin the oleg confrontation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcvekafS34I) into a personal victory) and that was it. I explicitly stated that this was to be 1 on 1 with no bullshit. When I'd arrived at the Nino confrontation Nino's friends said Charlie's friend had shown them a gun. I told him I didn't want any bullshit like that - I didn't want this to be mayhem with a bunch of people there and my only priority was not going to jail. If he would meet me and go toe to toe with me in a fair fight I would accept and publish the results, win, lose, or draw. He agreed at first to meet at the hollywood gym where he said we could fight in the ring. That night he sent me close to 100 messages... here are SOME of the highlights

Yeah, to quote Jersey Shore I was behind in this "Situation", s like most ,so it took me awhile to know if this was legit or just a self promotion by Z.

First and foremost we have to give credit to Charlie Z. The guy is a self- promotioning mastermind. He has videos on youtube with 100,000 views and he has yet to knock anybody out ( from what I have read). He has even been featured on World Star Hip Hop. when you're a blackbelt in most forms of martial arts, it's actually illegal for you to fight a non-blackbelt unless it's in self defense because you're almost considered a deadly weapon. Especially with it caught on tape, if the dude had gone after Charlie just for shit talking he could do jail time.

When someone challenges Chuck to a streetfight, he wants to fight in the ring.

When someone challenges him to step in the ring, he wants to streetfight.

Such is the case with this Jason character. Go back and watch the video where Jason calls into his radio show. He says he'll fight Charlie on the street, and CZ says let's do this in the ring.

Then in the vid where Jason shows up at his gym, he challenges him to get into the ring, and Chuck pretends to want to the throw down outside.
