From my experience with 2K, the variability of openness is not the primary factor in making a shot. The players' ability to hit a shot from a given space on the floor is the primary determining factor. How open a player is also plays a role. As in, Richard Hamilton will be money from mid-range if left wide open. However, with a hand in his face, his will still be a good shooter, but not nearly at the open clip.

I always felt Live had a better presentation, except for the actual players.

Shootarounds, Arenas, etc...all look better in Live, but 2K is still the better game. But Live isn't too far behind. I try out Live every year to see if it improves (I buy 2k every year, after the price decreases, because when it first comes out it is waaaayyy too glitchy, and they should be arrested for charging $60 for it).

Live 10 made big strides (they stole 2K's lead developer for that game or something like that), though not perfect, it isn't bad either. Just because a game is simple, doesn't mean it can't be a challenge and fun as well.

Elite's player model of Jennings is realistic down to the mole on his forhead. They have all his tattoos. Everything looks the same. The only reason he looks darker in that pick is because of the lighting of the arena. So I don't get what's more to change. Personally I still don't see how they copied the player model from 2k10 cause they don't even look that similar. :oldlol:

Yeah thats why the picture of Jennings in elite looks like exactly like Brandon Jennings while the 2k picture you posted makes Jennings look like Michael Conley with a bad haircut. :roll:

They already said they're going to fix that. Did you see the Dwight Howard screenshot? White is now in the game.

Red is the hardest color you can get to translate in a video game. Either its too light(pinkish), or its too dark(maroonish).
They did it perfectly for the clippers and bucks. Don't get how they ****ed up with every other team.

That's a good looking model. Let's see how Jennings and the other players look in the actual game. But that model looks better than the cartoonish look of live 10.

But the problem with live next gen is they refuse find a solid basketball foundation and build upon it. Seems like every since 08 they have scrapped what they had and basically started over. Last year they changed the control and the gameplay. Now this year they seem to be starting over with the controls and gameplay again.

This is not good. How will these new controls and gameplay translate into 5 on 5. From the previews, it isn't looking like the transition is going to be a good one. Live just needs to find a foundation and build upon it every year like 2k basketball.

This is why they will never catch the competition. And I'm not falling for the NBA Jam gimmick. They will release it separate from Elite after a while. That is if they are smart business men/women they will.

I was really beginning to wonder about all that "Wii exlusive" stuff I was hearing about NBA Jam. Pretty cool idea to package it for free with NBA Elite. However, on that same hand, kind of a bummer because Jam won't be headed for PSN or XBoxLive so that kind of leaves me out of the mix. I'd like to try a new NBA Jam, but not that badly (I mean, to spend $60 on it).

I play 2k much more then I play live. I have about 4 times the achievements on 2k10 then I have on live 09 + live 10.

So I love how I'm biased.

I have 2k10 and always wanted to see wat live 10 was like, i finally played a demo in best buy and came away very disappointed, felt like i was playing live 95 everything felt like a cartoon. I hated the gameplay. Im going to try out elite 11 this year maybe its better, if not then ill stick with 2k 11
