Man, I remember that playoff series like it was last week. The one where where AI and Vince were taking turns putting on ridiculous performances. AI has 2 50 point games in the series and Vince had one as well.

That was the graduation ceremony that started all the "vince is soft" talk...
he had a elimination game against the 76ers that day and he caught heat for leaving Philly to go the Ceremony... he made back in time for the game but the Raptors lost that game and Vince got alot of blame even though the game was a thriller

yeah that was epic to see someone struggled like that :
11/34
21/39
7/22
10/30
21/32
6/24
8/27
when nba sucks at his best
with 30 shots a game, the less he could do was to put "numbers", but good basketball it's another thing.

As a Raptors fan I know that visual all to well but that pic is more of an indication of Vince's bad judgment opposed to anything else really...
I think a common perception regarding Carter is that from a talent spectrum he possessed all the natural God given tools to landscape a special career in the NBA but his interior make-up prevented him from fully living up to his ultimate potential. He always seemed to lack that "cut-throat all or nothing" passionate mentality that many of the greats of our past had flowing through their veins.
With that said give me AI...

A prime Vince Carter actually cared and played good defense. Not to mention he was much more efficient and shot 40% from downtown. Iverson was the better scorer, but the man shot under 39% for the 2001 playoffs. Granted Vince's shooting percentages weren't fantastic, but he was still well over 40% and still shot over 40% from downtown.

Screw percentages! F*ckin internet geeks who probably don't even ball...
AI played with MULTIPLE injuries during that playoff run, willing his offense-deprived team each and every night. In the Milwaukee series, he was elbowed by Ray Allen in the mouth, causing it to bleed. Know what he did? He spit the blood inside his jersey so the refs wouldn't take him out of the game. If that isn't heroic, I don't know what is.

That whole season was just beautiful... the only thing that made it less than perfect was Shaq and the Lakers... Shaq was soo powerful at that time, there was simply no hope to defend him...
From the beginning of the season on till the end, Iverson was the hero and the rest of the team was just hard as nails on defense... We had no real offense other than Iverson, but they all played together and went on a great run...

Carter turned into a wuss, but those early years were something else.
People forget but he was also hitting a lot of game winners/clutch shots back in those days too.
If T-Mac had stayed, I think the Raptors would've trounced Iverson's 76ers every year. I would've taken Vince because I think he was easier to build around.
Iverson, quite frankly was a bit of a ball hog and it was hit and miss if he'd ever work out with a certain supporting cast.

^pretty much. and Allen Iverson made basketball a livelihood for him, while Vince Carter took basketball as a hobby and valued education more.
The answer is AI.
I never saw anything wrong with Vince Carter attending his graduation. Thats a once in a lifetime thing. Dude worked hard to graduate college. He didnt want to regret missing that experience with friends celebrating his day. He made it to the game on time. Maybe its me because I cant find myself to knock Vince for what he did. Derek Fisher showed up to a playoff game (Game 2) in Utah in the 3rd quarter. :confusedshrug:

And it's not like Vince choked in game 7. Granted his shooting numbers weren't great, but he still put up 20/9/7/3/2. Had he hit the last shot, I'm sure no one would have complained about him attending his graduation.
