This season is finally starting to heat up. Took long enough.


Yeah I am. It is starting to come around. It's been a pretty good season as far as the side stuff goes. Franco and Janet, the house closing down, even Tommy's nephew developing. There's not as many cheesey subplots as there has been that threw things off course in the past, like Franco the conspiracy theorist, or Garrity's cancer, which was just too depressing to throw on a guy who's really there for comic relief.

The problem as I see it with this season is the main story line. This is the second time it happened, and I didn't like it the first time either, but the show is simply more entertaining when Tommy is a mess. When he's drinking, and is juggling multiple girls. He's sober and with no girls now. But it's coming around.

So who you got among this modern Ginger vs. Maryann?
I gotta say, while I really love both of them, gun to my head, my choice seems to be among the minority among my friends.

I've never gotten the Julian Moore thing, and it's not as if I've never been attracted to a ginger, something just doesn't do it for me with her. She comes off as a little stuffy to me. She is a strong actress. Loved her short turn in Children of Men.

I think both of them are incredibly attractive, but Sheila being the slutty one kind of turns me off. Janet can be slutty but with a classy way about her.

Yeah, I'm really on the short list with Shiela. While she definitely comes off as slutty, while Janet has sort of an underlying sexual thing going on, may not be quite as attractive. But it's her undieing interest in pleasing Tommy that has me hooked. She's not just slutty for her own sake.

I don't know, it's a close call, and there's moments where I think I must be nuts, like Janet in that little hotel up at the younger daughter's private school last year when she got drunk and was in the bedroom in the wife beater, and talking shit at that big dinner. Jesus Christ.

I definitely seem to be in the minority.

Well there's really no wrong answer. The scene when she 'raped' Tommy was what hooked me. She came in wearing that trench-coat, but with just the lingerie on underneath. Cot damn.
