It looks like the NBA's own Nenad Kristic was throwing punches at that really overweight black guy who plays with the greeks, and then he pulls a Carmelo and starts backpeddling once the guy goes at him :oldlol:

In Greece if a player ever went after a fan the player would be killed because the other fans would all attack him. Artest would not last one game in Greece if he pulled anything with the fans there. Greek fans are hard core to the extreme.

The Pistons-Pacers brawl........if that happened in Greece not one player would have come out alive.

In Greece some guys blew up a bank and shot a bank executive. When the press asked the chief of police what he was going to do about it he said, "Nothing. They raised the prices too much on the bank fees."

Now if you did that in the US, you be called "a terrorist, an enemy of the state", etc. They would have 500 swat police after you, helicopters, etc.

You have to protect corporate America at all costs.

That's the difference.

The man is still an inconsiderate thug and should be jailed for shooting a man and endangering others by blowing up a bank.

My point is that is Americans do something violent or foolhardy it is called just that....you make it seem like the man in your quote was justified and shouldn't be persecuted by the proper authorities.

Who cares where Lakas Fan Yo is from? He spends 90% of his time here trying to belittle Americans and American players in any way possible. His goal in this thread has become to prove that international players and the countries they're from are somehow tougher or more badass because of a fight.

He brags that if an Artest-attacking-a-fan incident happened in Greece, Artest would've been killed by the Greek fans. If I actually believed his horse$hit, I would think Greece was full of crazy assholes. Fortunately, I don't believe a word he says.

Also, it's kinda funny that he talks about how tough Serbia is, while at the same time ridiculing Krstic for running away from a confrontation. Is he gonna get his agenda straight or what? :confusedshrug:

WTF....all these people were fighting for no apparent reason, you said Kristic is in jail, aside from entertaining all of us on youtube for 2 minutes this was pretty much totally asinine. Am i wrong that this was an exhibition?

no fan has guns in greece, thats plainly retarded comment. the only ppl carrying guns are police. However, they can't really use them so easily as they go to automatic suspension from the force and if they kill somebody which is not a real threat to them, the whole nation takes the streets in riots and protests as it happened last year's september where a cop shoot a child ...

generally ppl don't like oppression from the state, which manifests through police, thats why police be definition will always find opposition by the ppl

this isnt really comparable. things in europe even in the balkans or greece just arent as bad as in the really bad places in usa, (or worse, brazil), but people arent as crazy about sports in usa as they are here in europe.

Artest just wouldnt have done it if that happened in pao's or olympiako's home court. he wouldnt dare, it would be instinctive. If he actually was insane or out of him enough for him to go into the stands anyway, he would be risking his life probably. Just as most players wont get into a fight with artest because they know he's crazy.

Also in europe and more so in greece or the balkans, people wont accept oppresion from the police and will fight back if they feel attacked. Last June my football team lost a promotion match and we went to wait for the owner to sell the team once and for all as he's nuts and so incompetent its not even funny, but they sent the police with their shields and rubber ball guns and etc.
People wouldnt disperse so the police started a charge, so people started picking up stones and stuff from the nearby park and fight back. We're not even talking about hooligans, there were kids, middle aged men and women, even old fellows involved. Things can get very ugly with the police here. I think that has something to do with periods of dictatorships and despotism in europe while americans feel in a free country since their independence. there must be some studies out there

Why is Kristic a pussay according to some of you?

He was getting chased by two Greek guys. What's he going to do, stand his ground and get knocked by both of them?

what is really amazing is that Greece was the craddle of civilization and now its turned around completely and is so much packed with hooligans and thugs that its a pain to watch:facepalm

what has happened to the euroleague with greek teams over the years is beyond crazy and no international ball institution seems to give a damn about it , only cos Greece invests a lot in basketball. Shame

So you're saying the guy that by now all the Greece players are dead, Serbia players are dead, the guy who kicked Milos is also dead and somewhat most of the fans who were there are either dead, extremely injured or held in custody? Nice over-exaggeration. As always. Carry on.

I'm with Lakas Fan Yo. Those mo-fos bring weapons to games. Have you not read the reports of what goes on over there before?

Yup these Euro takes winning as life and death...lose one game and the players family are in danger. They are playing for their lives out there.

This thread is pretty hilarious, don't visit Greece guys you'll be killed immediately. Or something like that. At least here in LA they've cleaned up the bad parts a bit, but I still wouldn't walk around them at night. Rioting is so 90's.

PS that Lakas guy is like 14.

mate, you are pretty much 100% spot on.

also someone mentioned vujacic and dragic

They are from Slovenia... Not the same country as Serbia.
they are from Slovenia but they are of Serb ethnicity, it used to be one country so after it broke up alot of Serbs stayed in Slovenia. Rasho Nesterovic is a Serb from Slovenia as well. just sayin', someone might find it interesting..

one more thing (and im not trying to jack up my post count here :D ), i posted these videos not to brag or whatever but because some people on here might find them interesting. might make them aware of how things are somewhere outside of NBA and the US of A in general. that is all. peace.

it was a friendly match and there was no official FIBA delegation nor did FIBA select the officials. so even tho the cup is on the official FIBA schedule as a warm up to the world championship, they dont really have the power to punish/fine anyone :D

even if they did it wouldve been a few match suspensions to some players, nothing crazy. and krstic wasnt in jail as someone previously stated, he was just detained for questioning and let go afterwards

I'm just surprised no one is getting suspended here. I believe you, there won't be any suspensions. But c'mon, :facepalm It was one of the nastiest brawls I've seen.

I'm sure if Stern was in charge of this he would have suspended a lot of players by now.

well there just isnt enough FIBA matches being played to be able to suspend players like in the NBA where you got 82 matches in a season.. they might try to force them to apologize or something, Krstic already did it publicly.

one of the links I posted above, the fight from 2 months ago in the Serbian playoff finals, noone actually got punished/fined for it other than the technical they received during the match :oldlol:

Why are people so fast to brag about how BAD their country or state is?

People should be bragging about what's GOOD in their country, what is the world coming to these days?:facepalm
"Being bad" is cool
COMMERCIALS, ADVERTISEMENT. MTV dumbs the younger generation down, glamorizing sex and violence.? What does everyone
want to be? The next Britney Spears! They want money, fame. "Being bad" is cool. They take millions out of our education system. They want everyone to be stupid. How hard is that to figure out?

You can't be serious, are you saying he is as huge as Sofo because they're both 6'10"? Sofo litteraly has like 140-150lbs on him.

Not that it matters cause dude was on the ground and Sofo was above him steady landing punches on him.
