Yeah, it's probably one of my all-time fave chop-socky flicks. The second one is good too, but not as good.

Cool, I'm going to check the first one out. I never heard of this flick

Do you use torrents? There are some on demonoid.

Nah, I dont use torrents. I know I'm behind in times but I prefer to watch a movie where I click and it plays.

I don't use streams but I've seen a lot of people on here mention this site (http://www.icefilms.info/ip.php?v=72180&).

Edit - I swear, I wasn't copying you Plow. :-P

Pulling a Gundress there I see. :P

They're both pretty good although it is only *very* loosely based on Ip Man. Lots of well choreographed fight scenes (by Sammo Hung I believe). Has anyone seen The Legend Is Born - Ip Man? It focuses on Ip Man as a teenager and although it has many of the actors from the the 2 other Ip Man movies it is directed and written by different people.

Good shit. Saw Ip Man II in theatres in HK. Much better fighting scenes. Donnie Yen is amazing.

I saw IP Man, was entertaining. Haven't seen the 2nd one yet, though.

I thought the second one was a tad disappointing, but the first one set the bar so high that it is hard to meet expectations.

Lee doesn't have any role in the films.

Possibly the next one if they make it will feature Bruce Lee. I think they've been building up to it for that purpose.

I think there will be a sequel, seeing the way they ended the second movie.

The Bruce Lee is the kung fu goalie in Shaolin Soccer. Plus punching out with Tyson!

The Wuxia boxing they did in the last movie looks kinda unnatural, even though it is one of the best in that style. I hope they choreograph better this time even the actor is Mike.

Also, RIP Twister :(

If you like the Wing Chun (the martial art you see used by Donnie here) try Warriors Two & Prodigal Son, two old school kung fu flicks, they have even better display of wing chun.

I mean the actor who portrayed Twister passed away a while ago.

Oh damn was not aware.

That's too bad. I can't recall what else I've seen him in but he played a great Twister!

He had a decent filmography and both an actor and a stuntman.

Donnie Yen currently doing an AMA on Reddit

He's answering some questions about Ip Man

:applause:

Possible the GOAT action movie. I've watched it 10 times over the years with friends probably.

Second film wasn't doing it for me as much. The plot just felt weird compared to the first one. Awesome final fights though.

I downloaded IP man but it is in Chinese with English subtitles. Was this movie ever dubbed?

It got watered down by this whole gang war politics subplot that no one going to see this kind of movie would give a shit about. Dragged it down a bit when the first one's plot was super simple yet told an intense story.

Still, the last couple of fights had me going nuts. Give it a watch.

Probably, but original language w/ subs is usually the best way to watch a film.

Dubbed versions suck in general.
