Look at the photo. He's taller than Turkoglu who is 6-10. This means he is at least 6-11. More likely, he is 7-0.

pre draft measurements are easily found on google. but using these kinds of pictures as proof is always so dumb. turkoglu isn't even fully standing upright. he's tilting a little. and you don't know what position they are on the ground. if durant is standing only 4-5 inches behind which looks like he is since his head looks so small, that's enough to distort camera angles.

He's definitely not anywhere near being 6'9

See him next to any other NBA player who's listed at 6'9 and it's obvious he's about 2 inches taller than them

50 stories tall

He looks about inch or two taller than Kleiza, who is 6-8, so he's between 6-9 and 6-10, which is his billed height anyway:confusedshrug:

Hedo was listed at 6'8" when he was drafted, and he was 21 at the time so he's probably still 6'8". http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-draft-history/?syear=2000

Durant was measured at 6'9" without shoes when he was drafted, so he may have grown a little, but he's almost definitely in the 6'9"-6'10" range without shoes, and of course, 6'10"-6'11" range with them.

He clearly isn't as tall as guys like Garnett, Duncan, Bosh, Oden or Nowitzki.

How about this: http://www.pba.com/images_upload/gallery/GD_61_9_24_2008_9_45_10_AM.jpg

He's next to Lebron James and he seems way taller than Lebron.

Lebron was measured at 6'7" w/o shoes and 6'8" with them so Durant should look taller, maybe Durant grew a bit as well, but here's what Lebron looks like with Shaq(7'1")

Much bigger difference than Durant and Lebron.

He might be standing on a step or something. Don't they do that for 1st place winners?

6'9" without shoes

In other words, 6'10" or 6'11" buy usual NBA standards

In this picture he looks a little taller than Beasley who is listed at 6'10 so i'd say 6'10.5-6'11 with shoes on.

David Robinson looks like the Rookie in this pic, by the time Oden gets to 40 his face will look like a deflated paper bag.

OMG. He is almost as tall as Marc. There is 0.5" difference at most.

IT'S OFFICIAL, DURANT IS 7'0. :applause:

Durant is a 6'11" non-PF.

My guess in his twilight years in his career , he'll never play the PF spot.
So once he loses any form of speed , if he doesn't create post up moves , he will strictly be a spot up shooter.

6'11" SF is one tall mummer- fickler.

good observation. these two are some freakish SFs. Durant is going to change the position for good. With Lebron and Durant at the 3 spots, these guys are gonna lock up the forward spots in the all-star ballots for good for the next 10 seasons.

Interesting. When Bobcats played OKC in Charlotte this past season, my brother called me from the gsme like' " there is no way Kevin Durant is 6'9. Dude is like 7 feet tall and the way he moves so fluidly on the floor is ridiculous!"

Thank god he is a sceletor though, with more mass he wouldnt be able to play SG/SF like he does, it would change his game entirely.

It's common knowledge that SUPERCOOLBEAS is more like 6'8.

I don't understand why people are so infatuated with exactly how tall a player is, or what is his exact vertical jump, or how fast he is.

OK let me pose this question to you then:

If Durant is a legit 6'10" or 6'11" and plays the SF position and gets older , but stays the same body type , he will not have the athletic gifts of a shorter player , playing that same position 10-12 years from now.
He will become slower , he will have a tougher time guarding a 6'7" quicker player , playing the baseline end to end and he will not be able to defend or play the PF or center position , because of a lack of weight and muscle mass.
So how do you see him playing in 10 years from now ???? :confusedshrug:

I only see him playing as a spot up shooter and his teammates taking up the slack on his weak a$$ defense.

I hope Durant gains some weight and switches to full time PF in the future.

you don't dunk a ball with the top of your head or play basketball bare foot. It's all about his reach in combination with his height. 7'4 wingspan is pretty freakish for a human being. his standing reach is higher than Chris Bosh's, according to draft express.

qft

though if durant has grown (i suspect around half an inch) then perhaps his wingspan is longer too. maybe 7'5, which is the same as yao ming.

Umm, you don't think he will have a post up game? Look at what Dirk can do with that height in the post. Durant is better than that too. LOL at just being a spot up shooter...go learn about basketball before posting here.

Durant is 6' 9 1/2" in shoes which would make him right around 6'11 in shoes

He's not 7' but he looks like it because of his wingspan

I dont see how this guy doesn't end up at power forward in the next few years...what the hell is OKC thinking playing him @ the 3 when they have a 6'8 or 6'9 guy at PF

magnax1

Because he would get punked by a lot of PFs defensively
