The 2010/11 preseason begins tomorrow, so it's time to bring the thread back for season #3. For anyone who doesn't understand what goes on here, look at last season's thread (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148363).

Before I proceed any further, I should mention that I intend for this to be the final daily poster thread ever. I do not intend to be doing a daily poster thread for the regular season because I hope to be doing this in the form of my own blog by then. I will miss doing this thread on ISH, but I feel like I can really make something more out of it. We'll see how it goes.

Moving right along, let me first re-post the Daily Poster Thread Hall Of Fame (as voted on by ISH members, aside from the playoff poster which was added by myself)...

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e371/StroShow4/screenshots/HOFcopy-1.jpg

As for tomorrow's games, we have the Knicks playing some team called "Olimpia Milano" at 12:30 EST on NBAtv, and then we have the Nets playing a team from Israel called "Maccabi Haifa". Very interesting. I won't be able to watch the Knicks game due to work, so if anything interesting happens please let me know.

Hopefully we get at least one badass posterization on day one. :pimp:

Good luck with your blog!

However, I have a question. How are you going to check all the games for potential highlights? Last season you had the whole forum doing scouting for you and still there were occasions when some highlight was missed due to it not being shown in NBA.com's recaps. So here's my suggestion. You should still start a daily poster thread in ISH but instead of posting the days conclusion here you can just simply post the link to your blog thus keeping it more advertised as well ;) This way we can all contribute a little bit by notifying about posters from games that you might not see. And it adds a quality thread to the main forum since there aren't too many of those.

I did think of that, and I came up with a couple ideas...

-I thought of maybe adding some sort of comment box on the site where people could let me know if they saw something interesting, and I'd go track down the video.
-I can check play-by-plays and record dunks off of the archives on LP broadband.

Time for the first update of the season... here we go! I made some fresh banner thingies...

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e371/StroShow4/poster_2010copy.jpg

Well it's been a good amount of time since that Nets game ended and I am yet to find one single video from it, so I'm assuming there aren't any. The only poster of I have seen came from Amare Stoudemire, so therefore I guess he has to be the winner. Not that he doesn't deserve to win, that dunk was dirty. Straight took the ball from that Euro fluff-ball and packed it in his grill with authority. That's a nice way to start the season from last year's StroShow Award winner. In addition to the 2 points from this dunk, Amare also had 30 other points in the game. Not a bad way to debut, even if it did go down against some random ass non-NBA squad.

-Highlight Recap: Well with one game televised there isn't much to put here... but Anthony Randolph did dunk this oop off the glass (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqp4_cjNOu4), Amare did this circus shot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaI8vMu0tkg), and Amare had another dunk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7j6EbQztVAA).

-The Bulls have lost their brand new power forward for two months (http://www.insidebayarea.com/sports/ci_16245212), as Carlos Boozer will be sidelined until December due to a fall in his home. He supposedly tripped over his gym bag. In other Bulls news, Joakim Noah has signed up to play in Chicago for five more seasons (http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/10/03/1856017/report-bulls-noah-agree-to-deal.html). The deal is going to pay him 11 to 12 million a season... damn, being 7 feet tall must be nice.

-Derrick Favors scored 14 points on 6-8 shooting and grabbed 9 rebounds in his NBA debut as the Nets crunched their opponents by 38 points... 38 points? They may have outscored these guys by more than they outscored everyone they beat last season combined. I feel the need to mention that Kris Humphries started the game and had 12 rebounds.

-I just saw on NBA.com that they're doing the yearly League Pass early bird special... If you're a real NBA fan you best get on that sh!t... League Pass = life, get it at a discount while you can.

-Andris Biedrins has supposedly changed his freethrow form (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/480798-golden-state-warriors-andris-biedrins-ready-to-take-the-next-step)... whoa. Didn't see that one coming. I was just thinking that the Warriors could be quite exciting this season... Curry/Ellis/Wright/Lee/Biedrins is the reported starting five... that's some nice talent. They are all very well suited for the run-and-gun game. I assume their new coach Keith Smart will continue to have the team play that style, maybe the lineups and rotations will just be a little more normal than Nelly's... like no more CJ Watson/Corey Maggette frontcourt. Damn, that was actually kinda fun. I'll miss that crazy old bastard.

-I understand that liking LeBron James isn't a cool thing to do these days, but I dig this t-shirt (http://yahoosports.teamfanshop.com/NBA_Basketball_Miami_Heat_T-Shirts/adidas_Miami_Heat_Black_LeBron_James_Crowned_T-shirt). If I wasn't saving my money for a few various things I'd probably spend $20 for that.

-One game tomorrow, the Lakers play the Heat at 3:00 ET on NBAtv. I'll probably be able to watch part of this one... hopefully it's interesting. I hope to see Michael Beasley do something, I like the guy and this is his chance to show what he can do. I feel like he never got much of a chance to breakout in Miami, but if he can't do it in Minnesota then it's on him.

-Highlight Recap: Well there was only one game, so I guess I'll just post the full highlights from it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlEgPXr8SC8). Check the :30 mark, Martell Webster does a sick move and layup... and for the second day in a row there was an off-glass alley oop.

-Kobe Bryant played six minutes and went scoreless as the Lakers lost to the Timberwolves (not that it means anything, I'm just stating the facts). Martell Webster and Michael Beasley led the Wolves with 24 and 21 points respectively. Good debut for these two young guns (Beasley did have 6 TOs, but whatever)... I like them both, particularly Beasley. I still believe he's got a shot to be very good. He's definitely got talent, hopefully he keeps his head straight. I have heard some jibber-jabber about a battle for a starting spot between Beasley and Love, but I would like to point out that they both started this game. I think this is the best plan for the Wolves, Beasley isn't a PF anyway, the dude is an SF.

-So tomorrow at 7 PM ET sh!t really gets started... we've got 8 games going down. I'll obviously be keeping an eye on the Miami/Detroit game, which will be televised on NBAtv. I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch any of the other games or not, I've got all the FSN channels on my Directv, but half the time they black the games out. We'll see, hopefully I can see more than one game. John Wall will be making his NBA debut against the Mavs, I'd like to see some of that one. Maybe he'll do something like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQLHCqSwpsE). I don't know what I like better about that play, the move or the finish... he really exploded out of that crossover. That was impressive as hell.

-I hear that Yao Ming will play in the Rockets preseason opener tomorrow. Good news for the Rockets, Yao had hurt his ankle recently, so I guess it isn't serious at all. Yao will be matched up with Dwight Howard as the Rockets will face the Magic. Challenging way for Yao to return after missing a season.

T-Wolves coach Kurt Rambis on Super Cool Beas...

“You can see Beasley is a very talented player. He’s got a lot of enthusiasm and passion. He freelanced a little bit too much for me, but that’s the way he is. He can create his own shots. I expect him to be a major contributor for us this year.”

-Highlight Recap: John Wall is fast. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_j3S9-sCWGw) Lester Hudson wins the game. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUkI7O0aSSQ) LBJ spins and crams it. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5mJQTlDsVc) Arroyo to Miller to LBJ for a dunk. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHiDoN_LMRw) LeBron hits Bosh for a dunk. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNms_AkNr84)

-I guess the top story is obviously the first Wade-Bosh-LBJ game. The Heat crunched the Pistons 105 to 89. Dwyane Wade left the game after only 3 minutes due to a minor hamstring injury. Bosh and LeBron played 26 minutes each and combined for 38 points on 31 shots. From the portions of the game that I saw I was very impressed with how the Heat were running the break. LeBron was playing point for a bit, I liked that too.

-A couple of very impressive rookie debuts last night: First, John Wall had 21 points and 9 assists with only two turnovers. He also threw in 4 steals and made 9 of 11 freethrows. Secondly, DeMarcus Cousins had a very solid double-double with 16/16. He made 8 of his 13 shots, but did have 5 turnovers. Samuel Dalembert sat out this game, so Thompson and Cousins both got plenty of time. The Kings should continue to let Dalembert sit out, the dude blows anyway. If I was in charge I'd waive the guy. He sucks that bad.

-Impressive non-rookie debuts: Kyle Korver dropped 22 in his first game as a Bull. Wes Matthews dropped 20 in his first game as a Blazer. Hakim Warrick scored 11 points in just 15 minutes in his first game as a Sun. Speaking of the Suns, here's a not-so-impressive debut: Hedo Turkeyglue went for 2 points on 0-5 shooting.

-On a night which included major rookie debuts, the first game of the new Heat era, and the return of Yao Ming, my favorite part of last night was watching Brian Scalabrine score a driving layup. Get 'em Scal!

-Gilbo is now wearing #9, not sure why he made the change. Any help here? Is it because he keeps a 9 in his locker? Har har har (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yl3UMO-TkE).

-If the Knicks are unable to trade Eddy Curry, he will be waived (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/484094-nba-rumors-dwyane-wade-injury-miami-heat-carmelo-anthony-and-more/entry/13827-nba-rumors-knicks-will-waive-eddy-curry-if-they-are-unable-to-trade-him). I can't believe that it was only 4 or 5 years ago that I was arguing to put this guy on the All Star team. Damn.

-What. The. **** (http://www.thedailytechnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/amare-big-pic.jpg). I mean seriously, Amare.... dude.... what the hell?

(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKpq1QK-GUw) DeMar DeRozan alley oop slammer. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qh1T31AqJzs) Rudy Gay reverse layup. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH5n7DzDxaY)

-The Toronto Raptors beat the crap out of the Suns last night. By "beat the crap out of the Suns" I mean they won by 51 points. 51 points. I know it's preseason, but still that's pretty crazy. Linas Kleiza led the way for T.Dot with 20 points. DeRozan, Weems, Amir, and Dorsey all scored in double figures as well. Nice start for Toronto, a 51 point W to begin sh!t can never hurt. Only one Suns player broke into double digits, Jared Dudley had 10. When's the last time PHX only had one double digit scorer in any type of game? Damn, that's rough.

-Amare Stoudemire cooled down a bit from his monster debut, and the Knicks lost to the T-Wolves, who are now 2-0 in the preseason. Martell Webster had another nice game, 17 points for him.

-Snaq O'Meal made his C's debut, scoring 8 points on 4 of 5 from the floor. He looked to be in good shape to me, he was moving up and down the floor pretty well. The Celtics beat the Sixers by 20-something, it wasn't much of a contest. Speaking of Snaq, he really wants the Nets to remain in Jersey... and he wants to run the team (http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7020148069?Shaq%20Wants%20Nets%20In%20'Jersey;%20O ffers%20To%20Run%20Team%20After%20Retirement)?

-Jonas Jerebko could miss the entire season (http://www.mlive.com/pistons/index.ssf/2010/10/pistons_moving_on_after_loss_o.html) with an achilles injury. Tough break for the young man, he's a nice player.

-Highlight Recap: Just the top 10 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOfMdkfwWBg) today. Is it just me or did Tony Parker blatantly travel on play #8? Also check for a sick oop by Bayless, the windmill by Sam Young, and some bonkers ball movement by that Barcelona squad that beat the Lakers.

-I feel like this photo (http://d.yimg.com/a/p/sp/ap/c4/fullj.1137b9232a7b1e4234af78f8780d4372/e601ab4964c44aab8417e20dedac3522.jpg) is begging to be captioned. Someone should give it a try.

-A Portland Trailblazers center went down with a knee injury, but it wasn't Greg Oden. It wasn't Marcus Camby either. It was Jeff Pendergraph, who has a torn ACL and will miss the entire season (http://www.azcentral.com/sports/articles/2010/10/08/20101008jeff-pendergraph-torn-acl.html).

-I keep thinking Trevor Ariza is back on the Lakers when I see this Devin Ebanks guy... Ebanks kind of looks like Ariza to me and is wearing #3 (http://d.yimg.com/a/p/sp/getty/8d/fullj.158a98f5fe5395a8bfcd36cecc1da63c/158a98f5fe5395a8bfcd36cecc1da63c-getty-103925488dr019_los_angeles_.jpg). Is this confusing to anyone else?

-Nice hair (http://i51.tinypic.com/a3ponc.jpg), Dirk.

-Fast Don't Lie. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-a9lx3pOC4) I know this is some sort of Adidas commercial, and I know that Dwight Howard is singing in a really goofy fashion, but other than that I don't really get what's going on here... still, it's kinda funny.

-Steve Francis got arrested (http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5iORZeGHiA9p0JvywPPOx7LtMWabQ?docId=CNG.54f81 237cb41a244a9520dd8a9c8339e.201) for being drunk at the airport in LA. Way to be, Franchise! I can't believe he's still only 33.

-Blake Griffin dropped 18 points and grabbed 13 boards in only 23 minutes as the Clippers crunched the Kings. Griffin made all 7 of his shot attempts, but did miss half of his 8 FT attempts.

-John Wall's second game did not go quite as well as his first. Wall struggled from the floor, going just 5-16. He did get 9 assists, but had 4 turnovers. The Wizards did beat the Cavs, led by Yi's 16 points.

-Highlight Recap: Top 5 plays. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJSRykeLRJI) @ the last three plays, all by the Rockets. Those alley oops... that pass... damn.

-The annual outdoor game at Indian Wells Tennis Garden was played last night, the Suns defeated the Mavs by 8. I recall this game getting a little chilly last season, this year was a different stroy... 90 degrees I heard. The shooting percentages weren't all that great, once again. Both teams shot precisely 39.5 % from the floor. Hedo Turkeyglue had another sh!tty game, 1-6 from the floor.

-Beverly Beverly (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore?gid=2010100924)? Funny little typo by Yahoo there... it's actually Patrick. Pat had 11/10/5.

-Can I get a caption (http://d.yimg.com/a/p/sp/ap/06/fullj.dace70748c6273d066730409e83cb70c/1e983f28cf51437eb19f9a6ef8ea033b.jpg)?

-Nice article (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=mc-cousinskings100810) about DeMarcus Cousins. I like this dude, I think he's going to be a player.

-And I'm off to the Celtics/Raptors game... I'm sitting 4 rows from the floor! I have a camera to take some photos for you guys, I'll post them up tomorrow. I forgot my freaking Sonny Weems jersey back in Maine, so I think I'm going to customize my own "Young Guns" T-shirt with a Sharpie. YEAH! :pimp:

Larry Brown digs the Thunder...

"I look at him and some of our young guys in the NBA and I think our league's in pretty good shape. And this team (the Thunder) probably is a testimony to that. Look at their young kids. Their not only terrific talents, they're better kids. They've done the greatest job of bringing in good kids that represent the league well. When they're talking about respect for the game, that team's a poster child for that. So the West better watch out."

I normally hate colorful tattoos, and would give this the lowest possible rating... but it's the freaking Birdman! The dude pulls this off. It's all part of the show. The more the marrier when it comes to Birdman's ink as far as I'm concerned. Looks like the skin-art is climbing closer and closer to his face, maybe that's where he's going next... I think it's the only free space left.

Some random thoughts/observations from the game:
-Joey Dorsey is a monster physically. He's a huge dude and he's ripped, pretty much looked like Dwight Howard or Ben Wallace to me.
-Andrea Bargnani appeared to be completely mailing it in, the guy just really didn't seem to be trying.
-Von Wafer can get up. He did the most effortless windmill I've ever seen in the warm up line.
-The game was quite physical and intense for a preseason game. The starters didn't all play at the end, but when they were in most of them played hard. The bench guys did a nice job and were certainly playing hard and playing to win.

-Highlight Recap: Aside from the daily top 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPPWn6fXKLQ), I would like to post the game highlights (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIqWjPyN5YU) from that Raptors/Cetlics game I was at. There were a lot of sick highlights in the game, including a nasty dunk by Sonny Weems (it's in the link).

-Looks like Allen Iverson may very well be playing for a Turkish team this coming season (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Ar2SB4MLUVa6KXdPzdoti528vLYF?slug=ys-iversonturkey101110). I was hoping he'd team up with Stro in China.

-Jermaine O'Neal took 0 shots and played just 7 minutes in his Celtics debut, but he did have three nice blocks. Two of them were stuffs on Amir Johnson dunk attempts... both of those were quite impressive.

-The Magic crunched the Hornets by 54 points. Shard, Reddick, and Ryan Anderson had 23 points each.

-DeMarcus Cousins had another nice line, 17/11 against the Warriors. Some guy named Jeff Adrien had 15 boards for GS, and the dubs won the game.

-Since when is Pops Mensah-Bonsu on the Hornets (http://d.yimg.com/a/p/sp/getty/88/fullj.fd279c8527b1308906903b7ffca747fa/fd279c8527b1308906903b7ffca747fa-getty-103934195sg018_new_orleans_.jpg)? -Highlight Recap: First of all, check out the sick crossover by Rip hamilton at :48 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93nUNeHUc28). That's the best dribble-move I have ever seen from him. Other than that, I guess it's just the top 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBr31KF0D1I). Check out Will Bynum's crazy dunk, nice extension on that one. How was that #5?

-Adidas needs to give my guy Sonny Weems his goddamn sneakers (http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/10/12/toronto-faces-basketball-shoe-shortage-sort-of-blame-nafta/). Maybe Sonny should've stuck with that Chinese brand that he wore last season, I thought those were pretty fresh anyway.

-Dwyane Wade might be able to play (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Aik_gdQRQmZyMQ.py0Yc38.8vLYF?slug=ap-heat-wade) in the last preseason game on the 22nd. I wonder if LeBron will miss any time with his injury? Apparently he left the game tonight with some sort of leg problem, but somewhere I think I read that it was just a cramp.

-Greg Oden says that he believes he can become an NBA all-star, and Marcus Camby says he will retire after two more years if he can no longer be a rotation player (http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7020193900?Blazers'%20Oden%20Expects%20To%20Be%20A ll-Star;%20Camby%20To%20Retire%20After%202011-12). I knew Marcus was getting up there, but I didn't realize that he's 36. He still gets off the floor and moves very well.

-I want to hear the audio of this quote (http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/69535/20101012/perkins_im_still_captain_of_bostons_defense/) from Kendrick Perkins. If you've ever heard the guy talk, you understand. I just feel like that would be a funny thing to hear him say... I mean he's right, but just the fact that he's Kendrick freaking Perkins and he said he can do something that Shaquille freaking O'Neal can't do, it just sounds wrong to me.

-Carlos Boozer is not happy (http://blogs.suntimes.com/bulls/2010/10/boozer_report_of_investigation.html) with the NY Time reporter who reported that the Bulls are investigating his at-home injury.

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e371/StroShow4/quote_2010copy.jpg

A blurb I found in some artical on Yahoo about KG and Patrick O'Bryant...

To Rivers' earlier point about past teammates who didn't listen, a post-practice session between Garnett and former C's center Patrick O'Bryant from two years ago still comes to mind. Garnett spent the entire time dunking over the blank-faced O'Bryant and shouting, "Do you feel me?"

Just picture that and try not to laugh. You can't do it. :oldlol:

-DeMarcus Cousins dropped 20 and even hit a three pointer as the Kings smacked the Warriors 116-97. Cousins making moves off the dribble and dropping tre-bombs? The dude has skills. A man his size doing that stuff is pretty sick.

-Michael Beasley and Kevin Love led the T-Wolves to an easy win over the Nuggets. Super Cool had 21, while K-Love had 16/15. The TImberwolves are 3-0 in preseason. Who would've thought the T-Wolves would be loss-less and the lakers would be win-less at this point? I know it's only preseason and it means nothing, but still.

-Hawks rookie Jordan Crawford dropped 30 on the Wizards, but the Hawks lost by 15 and are still winless in the preseason. Gilbo faked an injury (http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/sports/50470313-77/arenas-game-knee-sore.html.csp), allowing Nick Young to start the game, and Nick proceeded to drop 24 (with 0 rebounds and 0 assists. John Wall had 19, McGee had 16/11.

-Joakim Noah had a great line last night: 16/14/8/1blk/stl. The Bulls beat the Raptors badly, Derrick Rose had 23/5/7. Leandro Barbosa played well for the Raptors, he had 20. My main man Sonny Weems had 12 in 19 minutes.

Wikipedia:

Craig Brackins (born October 9, 1987 in Lancaster, California) is an American basketball player who most recently played for the Iowa State Cyclones.[1] A power forward, Brackins was the highest-touted recruit to choose Iowa State after spending time at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. In March 2009, Brackins was predicted to be a first round draft pick in the 2009 NBA Draft should he declare. He was picked by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 21st overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. He was immediately traded to the New Orleans Hornets.

-Highlight Recap: Just the top 10 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjH4q7imbUo) today... another pretty damn good one. Every play except for two are dunks. That's my kind of top 10 right there.

-Amare Stoudemire dropped 30 for the second time this preseason, but Paul Pierce hit his signature stepback jumper with 6 seconds left to win the game for the Celtics. Ray Allen led Boston with 24, and Luke Harangody came off the bench and dropped 16/12, including two of those ugly-ass three pointers he shoots.

-Andrea Bargnani finally reached double figures in the 2010 preseason! He dropped 14... took him 22 shots thought. Jrue Holiday had a triple dip in this one, 18/11/12. Two OTs, Raptors won by three. My boy Sonny Weems hardly played, lame.

-DeShawn Stevenson and Brian Cardinal started the game for Dallas last night, and Steve Novak was their leading scorer... and they won the game. Detroit blows.

-The Minnesota T-Wolves have finally lost a preseason game, they were defeated by the Pacers. Danny Granger dropped 30, Big Hibbs went for 16/13. Michael Beasley and K-Love didn't follow up on their previous big games, neither made it to double figures. In fact, only onw T-Wolf made it to double figures, that was Ridnour with 11. Hibbert, Granger, and McRoberts combined for 36 boards in the game.

-The Wadeless, LeBronless Heat lost to the Hornets by 14. NO was led by Marco Belinelli who dropped 19 on 7-10 from the floor. I like Belinelli, I always felt like he belonged in the league and belonged on the floor, maybe he can get some burn down in NO. Not too much competition at the SG spot down there.

-DeMarcus Cousins recorded yet another double-double, but the Kings lost to the Lakers. Ron Artest led LA over his former team with 18 points.

-This new technical foul crack-down deal has gotten out of control. Way too many T's so far in preseason, every game I watch people are getting them for doing damn near nothing. This is going to hurt the fans most, as they pay to be entertained and pay to see these players on the floor. No one wants to go pay to see Kevin Garnett play and have him get ejected for something as minor as yapping at the ref a little bit. That's lame, I hope Stern will figure it out like he did back when they tried this crap like 5 years ago.

-I clicked on Yahoo NBA today and I saw the headline "Lakers Girl Smashed".... now what they meant was that she got knocked over pretty hard when Carl Landry fell into her, but you know what came to mind first for me... well I thought maybe Kobe got himself into a little trouble again. :lol

-MJ says he could score 100 points (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Jordan-I-could-have-scored-100-points-in-toda;_ylt=AsI0cOAoW.6Dfja5vkvfUMi8vLYF?urn=nba-277020) in this day and age.

-Highlight Recap: Top 10 plays (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nXh7lA1UmY)... check out the block by Javale McGee at #1. He ate that f@cking shot. The Wizards ran this top 10, sick dunks by Nick Young and John Wall, and a sick pass by Gilbo.

-The Wiz ran the top 10, but they did lose to the Bucks. Drew Gooden dropped 25 points, Delfino pitched in 19.

-Al Jefferson made 10 of his 14 shots and scored 24 points as the Jazz beat the Suns.

-Lots of nice stat lines in the Nuggets/Clippers game: Carmelo Anthony dropped 30 and grabbed 14 boards, Blake Griffin had 24/14 (including three sick dunks), Aaron Afflolo had 27 points, and Kaveman had 23/8. The Nuggets won by 5 points. Blake Griffin is looking quite promising, I'm buying his hype right now. The dude is explosive, young K-Mart style dunks.

-Highlight Recap: Daily top 5 plays (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFkUIX77gzE)... check for the dirty oop slam by Derrick Rose. Don't check for Nate Robinson stuffing the crap out of my main man Sonny Weems. Oh, one more highlight, here's D-Rose flying up the court and showing his handles at full speed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkval-EXuo8). Goddamn, the man can move. That was a sick move considering how fast he was running.

-The Toronto Raptors outscored the Celtics 36-19 in the 4th quarter, but still lost the game by three. My main man Sonny Weems hit a pair of clutch threes, but it wasn't quite enough. Sonny played just 16 minutes in the game, he scored 14 points. Nate Robinson led the Celtics with 23, Rondo had 21, and Von Wafer and Marquis Daniels both had 14.

-So apparently the NBA sells $20 sneakers at K-Mart now (http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/search_10151_10104?vName=Shoes&keyword=nba). I wonder if we'll ever see any of the pros sporting these things? For some reason I kinda doubt it.

-Pops Mensah-Bonsu is still hanging around on the Hornets roster, it's October 17th... he just has to make it a few more days... For the sake of this thread and my own personal entertainment I want him to make a team so bad. :oldlol:

-Young fellas Kevin Love and Austin Daye both had nice double-doubles last night as the Wolves defeated the Pistons. Love had 21/10 and Daye had 18/11.

-LeBron has returned to practice (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AoSloI9Mg1x.mj5EYjp08Ly8vLYF?slug=ap-heat-james) and says he is having no problems with his hamstring. The Heat have a game on Monday, maybe we will get to see Wade/LeBron/Bosh all on the floor together.

-In his first game back since being suspended for faking an injury, Gilbert Arenas actually gets hurt (http://www2.wsls.com/sports/2010/oct/15/nban15-ar-564263/). Good 'ol karma.

Official --Swag-O-Meter-- Rating:

4.5/5.

I have a feeling a lot of people will disagree with me here, but let me explain... first of all, these kicks kind of remind me of the Jordan 11s. Making a shoe look like the Jordan 11s can never be a bad thing. Secondly, the colors are crazy, but I like them. I want a pair of these things. Thirdly, sick match with the Florida Marlins cap (-.5 though because LeBron is supposed to be a Yankees fan or whatever). Fourthly, clear soles... always a good look.

Anyway, if I read the article about these kicks correctly, these are the "South Beach" version of LeBron's 8th and latest sneaker, and they will sell for $160. So much for me getting a pair.

-Highlight Recap: Here we have one of the best top 10s I have seen in a while (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6mxDfVbqoc). The first two plays are weak, but the next eight are dirty as f@ck. I think my favorite is Rondo's over-the-shoulder pass... that was smooth. The way he threw a fake in there before he dished it made it ridiculous. There was a nasty oop by Griffin in there, but here's another one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PX2WoBJGQc) that didn't make the cut. Dwight Howard spinning and slamming (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEvRZrIQb7g).

-Tyrus Thomas made 9 of 11 free throw attempts and went for 23 points as the Bobcats got their first preseason win, they beat Detroit 97-94. Dsagana Diop had 6 blocked shots in 22 minutes.

-The Magic beat the crap out of the Bulls 105-67. I remember seeing that the Bulls only had 20-something points at the half, and CJ Watson had most of them. Chicago's starting five combined for just 16 total points in the game. Vince Carter had 21 points in 25 minutes. JJ Redick made 7 of 8 shots and had 16 points.

-Kevin Garnett looked good, making 9 of 11 shots for 20 points, as the Celtics beat the Amare-less Knicks. KG does look like he's made progress as far as his health is concerned. I don't think he's his old self, but he's not hobbling around and front-rimming dunk attempts.

-Blake Griffin with yet another good game, 17/14 for the young man, but the Clipps lost to the Jazz while playing on the Lakers floor. Man, only the Clippers would be forced to play on someone else's floor in their own house. You know damn well they'd never make the Lakers play on the Clippers floor. Sucks to be the Clipps. :oldlol:

-The Memphis Grizzlies remain undefeated in preseason as they beat the Bucks. The Grizzlies certainly have a talented squad, we'll see if this preseason success carries through to the regular season. I feel like it could to a certain extent, like I said, they've got the talent... probably a little shakey defensively though.

-The Nuggets lost to the Lakers, but Aaron Afflolo continued beasting with another 20 point game. Renaldo Balkman had a double-double with 10/11. I still feel lik ehe can play if he ever gets off the pine. Lamar Odom had a nice all-around game with 14/6/7 for LA. Kobe had 18/8/5. I watched part of this one, and I was impressed by the hustle of Matt Barnes, he was all over the place. Great stuff considering it's preseason, Matt always brings it.

I like your collections of dunks, but get a clue before you make a comment like this.

The Lakers host a mini-tournament every single year during the preseason, and the Clippers are invited to play in it (just like the other teams that are invited to play in it; the Jazz for instance). It's a double-header of games that the Lakers themselves play in.

Ok. I accept the judges decision, but I finish by making 3 points.

1. There was contact, DeRozan rested his forearm into Baby's chest.
2. You dont need contact to get dunked on.
3. Baby was between Demar and the basket, Demar charged him and baby put his hands up and jumped semi-sideways and up.

Conclusion: He got MURKED.

-The Timberwolves have won yet again, improving their record to 5-1. They beat the Bucks this time led by 32/13 from Kevin Love. Wayne Ellington pitched in 22 on 8-11 from the floor. My favorite Euro in the NBA, Ersan Ilyasova, had 22 off the bench for the Bucks.

-Led by 23 points from Linas Kleiza, the Raptors beat the crap out of the Suns.. 21 point win to be specific. The Young Guns combined for 47 points and 21 boards, Jarrett Jack had 17/5, and Reggie Evans snagged 12 boards.

-Jazz rookie Gordon Hayward dropped 26 points on the Lakers in a game where LA's starters actually played a decent amount of minutes. Nice game for that young man right there. Pau Gasol dropped 28, but the Lakers lost by five.

-The Timberwolves want Carmelo now (http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/237930-t-wolves-to-make-run-at-anthony#ixzz12iMdAPN8)? DeRozan had a far better poster than Pendergraph, Dorsey and Griffin.
In fact in my opinion it was the second best poster, Brackins being number 1.
Problem being, its a poster on everyones wall except Stro.
Now Odom gets a poster, when Millsap just stands there and lets him dunk it, and doesn't even jump.

Excuse the typo. I made that last season to try to explain what I was talking about. I consider the DeRozan dunk to be like the Wade dunk from that picture, that's why it didn't count. Big Baby was on the wrong side of him basically.

I thought everyone pretty much agreed on how I was doing this last season, I don't know why it's been such a problem in this preseason. I'll try to figure out what everyone wants to see and make things better for the regular season. Just like the players, I guess I need a warm-up too.

I did it like that the first season and no one seemed to like that. I was more strict with it last season and there were far less complaints. I prefer the current way with last year's rules, but if people don't like that I can go back to the old way where pretty much any dunk with a defender present counts.

Keep it the way it is. Theres always going to be people that disagree, which is totally fine because everyone has there own opinion, but this is your thread and if you think it is or is not a poster, then its good enough. As long as you explain why you thought it was/wasnt a poster IMO.

Its cool Stro have whatever rules you like.
My opinion of a poster is when someone contests the shot and is defeated by the dunker.
I feel, and obviously its up for debate, that Baby and DeRozan looked each other in the eye, DeRozan charged and baby attempted to defend and got murked. It was very impressive poster to me. It defined a poster in that he charged the defender and dunked with no fear in a Carter type fashion.

Where as the defender in the Griffin alley oop was not defending and didn't challenge.

I guess I'll just ask, what is it that everyone wants to see here? Do you guys want me to be really loose with the definition of what is and isn't a poster? I did it like that the first season and no one seemed to like that. I was more strict with it last season and there were far less complaints. I prefer the current way with last year's rules, but if people don't like that I can go back to the old way where pretty much any dunk with a defender present counts.

Just keep doing your thing the way you did last year, it is nice as it is.

Don't change anything, thread and voting is perfect the way it is. Sure, I'll flip out every single time you don't choose a Celtic if they have a poster, but you're used to that by now.

P.S. I'm still mad about that Leon Powe poster from two years ago

-Highlight Recap: Top 10 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smlwW-5EB-M), check out the filthy chase-down stuff by Joel Anthony at #10. It that was LeBron you know it would be #1. Actually, LeBron did get the #1 spot, for an uncontested fastbreak dunk. :lol

-Check out these kicks that have been banned by the NBA (http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.athleticpropulsionlabs.co m%2F&h=4b4cf). They're made by a company called Athletic Propulsion Labs, and they supposedly increase your vertical leap about 3.5 inches on average just by putting them on. I didn't really buy it at first, but I read up on them today and it sounds like it's actually legit. I guess there's some sort of technology in the shoe that basically shoots you up in the air after you load for your jump. Quite interesting, I'd like to have a pair just out of curiosity.

-Tyrus Thomas had all 15 of his points in the second half and helped the Bobcats get a comeback victory over the Heat. Tyrus looked good to me, he was making jumpers as well as nice moves to the basket off the dribble. Maybe, just maybe, he'll actually pan out. I hope so. LeBron had 33 in this game playing only 29 minutes. Second year high flyer Derrick Brown had 18 on 8-9 from the floor for the Bobcats.

-Look at my man Pops Mensah-Bonsu! 19/10 and 4 steals off the bench for the Hornets last night! That can't hurt his chances of making the roster. According to the box score he had 8 buckets last night... I figure at least 4 or 5 of them were probably of the massive dunk variety. There's one alley-oop in the game recap (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75St6dzf0Aw) at the :42 mark. Goddamn I hope he makes this squad, he'll be playing with CP so you know the oops will be flying.

-The Memphis Grizzlies are now 6-0 in the preseason. Just pointing that out.

-Cleveland Cavs 2010-2011 calendar blunder (http://www.summitdaily.com/article/20101017/SPORTS/101019845/1078&ParentProfile=1055). Don't even bother to click, you already know what happened. :oldlol:

-The NBA regular season begins in just one week! I'm still working on getting my blog going, there have been complications, but I think I'm going to be able to pull it off.

Looks like a poster to me. He might not have heavily contested it but Odom dunked on him. I'd consider that a poster anyways.

Millsap was under the net, didn't jumped, might have tried to swipe at the ball, which was a weak attempt in anything. Odom was already in the motion of dunking before Millsap even fully turned around. As for Derozan's dunk, Big Baby was facing him, jumped, contested, and if Big Baby could jump higher, he's have a shot at blocking it...

-Highlight Recap: Top 5 plays (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzArOaPXCXA), a very nice top 5. I like the monster block from Melo, not something you see every day. Check out JR Smith hitting not one but TWO long-ass buzzer-beating three pointers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reBhfOpEHco) (:25), (1:20). Also check out this sick finish by Al Farouq-Aminu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGDz3FzKGH4) (:55). Derrick Favors alley-oop slam (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3nr-ZBbr0).

-Got 430 grand to blow? Buy Michael Jordan's '07 Mercedes McLaren (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/For-Sale-Michael-Jordan-s-430-000-Mercedes-McL;_ylt=Ah5hUXdzAyZTU5mJb..dZ3W8vLYF?urn=nba-278651). It's only got 900-something miles on it, what a great deal!

-Jordan Farmar went ham on the Knicks in the second half and damn near helped the Nets get a comeback win, but NJ fell just short. Still a great game by Farmar, who hit 5 of 9 threes and tossed in 21 points. Amare Stoudemire had the most points scored by anyone in the 2010 preseason so far, 39, to go along with 11 boards. Toney Douglas had 24 off the bench, including a clutch three pointer. He's looking like a nice player. I've been impressed by both him and Felton so far this preseason.

-JJ Hickson dropped 22 and 11 as the Cavaliers crunched the Sixers to improve to 5-1 on the preseason. The Cavs had eight players score in double figures, and as a team they shot 56% from the floor, 45% from three, and 84% from the stripe.

-Rodney Stuckey scored 34 points and dished out 7 assists as the Pistons beat the Wizards.

-Roy Hibbert probably had the line of the night with his 27 points, 16 boards, and 6 assists. The Pacers won over the Wolves in OT, James Posey hit a big three pointer to seal the deal. Kevin Love had a nice night for the Wolves, 28/11 for him.

-The Utah Jazz remain undefeated (7-0) in the preseason as they knocked off the Lakers in a very low scoring game (82-74). The high scorer in the game was CJ Miles, and he only had 14. Al Jefferson left the game with an injured right hand (http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7020273142?Jazz%20Top%20Lakers,%20Remain%20Perfect %20In%20Preseason;%20Al%20Jefferson%20Hurts%20Hand ). Apparently he has a bruised knuckle, doesn't sound all that serious.

-Mike Miller has injured his thumb on his shooting hand (http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/10/21/1884871/miami-heats-mike-miller-could.html), and he may miss some regular season time.

-How about Brian Scalabrine! Scal torched the Raps last night going 6-7 from the floor for 14 points as the Bulls came from behind and beat Toronto. I was also impressed by James Johnson, who had 14 points of his own on 5 of 6 including one very nice dunk which can be found in the highlight recap section.
