Basically with the coming of twitter, facebook, etc....we now get to actually be made aware of the fragile ego of some of these men.
Back in the day, one has to rely on word of mouth, or stories that we may have heard around the way concerning the behavior and thought process of some of our favorite stars...now, the shit is all up in our faces.

Im sure in his ego-driven mind, he believes everyone hates him, because hes such a good ball player, and thats all.
The reality is....that isnt entirely the case. People DO tend to hate on great athletes, that are SO good, that it irks some....but....the truth is....people hate him, because hes an ass.

If anyone is catching feelings here, its Lebron.
That fool needs this attention. Most of us DONT CARE. But it is annoying to constantly be bombarded by this guy crying out for some type of boost all the time.
Its like the little pain in the ass brother, that you generally dont pay too much attention to, yet he is constantly up your ass, trying to annoy you, in order to get you to care about him in some shape or form.
You guys overreact to this guy so easily. It's a Twitter account. 90% of the stuff he gets is probably negative. Just seems like he's having fun with it.
Do you have alerts sent to you whenever a LeBron related thread is posted on this site or something? I swear every time LeBron is mentioned on here you always show up to persistently to defend him.

This whole hater thing is quite stupid. So is the older version of discrediting people with differing views, "Only God can judge me."
The ability to make judgements is a marker of intelligence!
For instance, LeBron is an arrogant fu** with no titles to back up his inflated ego.

Plus hes just playing around, he basically knows he owns his haters so he can do whatever he wants to 'piss them off' kinda like what hes done to you. He hasnt done anything to me bro. I live my life, and Lebron lives his. And Ive had people that hate me for various reasons, and you know what I do? Ignore people like that outright, and go on living my life.
Having to address people that do not like you, by acting "condescending" toward them, as if you're owning them, and or messing with them, is just as bad as hating on people for stupid reasons to begin with.
I never understood the concept of paying SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much attention to people that hate on you. In some wierd way, at the end of the day, Lebron almost needs his haters. They make him feel something.
The people Ive noted in the past, that pay mind to their haters, and swim around in that human cesspool of negativity, and hate, and back and forth of that whole concept, are generally the biggest attention whores, or, they're usually not very bright.
The whole thing reeks of insecurities, and nonsensical young BS.
So, he acts a fool, to gain the negative attention.......and then he eats it up, and then pokes at it, and makes sure it festers, and proceeds to make people hate him more?
I dont care who it is....thats just piss poor upbringing.

When I was growing up, I used to ignore players that I didn't like. Obviously Twitter wasn't out then, but it really says something about people who go out of their way to follow what the guy is doing and still criticize. People cannot either move on or just relax a little bit and laugh. Everything is so serious and everyone is so damn sensitive. News flash...it's YOU that fuels what he does. If you don't exist or ignore him, then this kind of shit doesn't exist.

As for me, I'm not giving him much attention either way. He is a strange character who happens to be effective in basketball. There is nothing for me to especially like or dislike in his game, save for a few dunks here and a few passes there (which I like). Most of the time watching him for me is like OK, next. Thats what happens when you're a celebrity in the limelight, and you begin to create a negative image of yourself. People just hate, thats what they do in general anyway, but when you give them a few reasons to start on you, then it snowballs from there. Now, if the dude breaths funny, they pounce him.
Like I said earlier, when you put yourself out there as a "character", that embodies the silly traits of a stereotype, then people will treat you as such.
And that is what you're seeing. People jumping all over him for asinine reasons. They dont care about him as a person, because he acts, or portrays a "fool". So people treat him like a fool. He has become almost a punching bag for haters.

Watching basketball superstars for input on personalities is like going to party to be left at piece. It can be done... but it's extremely difficult. I like following the NBA off the court because the stories entertain me. But I don't really care about these manufactured guys like Kobe or LeBron. It's not their fault though. Society and the media puts them somewhere they don't belong in the first place (this much money, role models? wtf???) only to let them fall for even more attention and clicks.
Basketball players are not role models. They shouldn't be. They need not be. They are there to play the game. If/when some of them are original, genuinely funny or down to earth, it's a relief. But not to be expected.

My point was, that now that he has already made himself out to be an "ass" in most people's eyes.....ANYTHING he does now is under fire.
Dude can post about how he went for a walk, and went shopping, and people will now jump down his throat for that as well.
By his actions over the past several years, he attracts all the under-belly of society.
I mean look at other stars, or politicians who've done some questionable things over the years. George Bush while in office, couldnt even sneeze, without the media/people taking a shit all over him. Its the same with Obama...
Hell, Michael Jackson couldnt even show his face for years without people speculating on what was WRONG with him.
When you build up a tarnished reputation, people are going to shit on you, even for the silliest of reasons.
THAT is where he is at now.
And I agree, some of the things people hate on him for are ridiciulous. But lets face it....some of the things he does is ridiculous too.....but i think some are blurring the ridiciulous actions of his, with the not so ridiculous, and he does get unfairly bashed for stupid reasons now.

But the backlash was pure hypocrisy. The media and fans alike had furnished a seat for LBJ at the center of the world, then seemed irked when he took it. Worse, the one-note vilification ignored the nobility of LeBron's move: He took less money to win championships, the sports world's ultimate selfless act. Consider the $6 million in ad revenue generated by The Decision that went to charitable causes, and suddenly the picture looks a whole lot less sinister.

I think the t-shirts and such came at a time when people found Lebron to be a bit quizzical in the first place.....
People were like...."ooooookay, this guy kind of seems like an attention whore asshole...but we're not sure quite what to make of him, and of it"
People were questioning if the dude cared about team, or his own personal game.....he would refer to himself in third person, and it kind of threw some off...
Then, he came with these ridiculous shirts, about his MVP, and checking his stats, and it was just ridiculous to most people....Then you had the questions of this dude quitting on his team, etc etc....
So, the combination of all of these things, mixed with his little one hour special of him bouncing out on Cleveland, and people now, are just completely turned off, to the point of ripping this guy at any chance they can get.
Its progressively gotten worse for him over the years, but mostly by his actions....not by some wild imaginary fluke. He brought this out initially, and now its almost its own entity.
And people couldnt STAND Ali back in the day either.

But the backlash was pure hypocrisy. The media and fans alike had furnished a seat for LBJ at the center of the world, then seemed irked when he took it.
Lebron put himself out there. He set the whole decision thing up and chose to go through with it. He could've just announced his decision quietly to the Cavs and moved on. Dude chose not to and do it publicly on television with the donation to charity as his scapegoat.
Worse, the one-note vilification ignored the nobility of LeBron's move: He took less money to win championships, the sports world's ultimate selfless act.
False. Lebron didn't take less money at all. He was traded. I don't know why people keep saying this. He got exactly the same amount as he would have if he stayed in Cleveland. You could even argue that he would get less in Cleveland since Florida has no state income tax.
Consider the $6 million in ad revenue generated by The Decision that went to charitable causes, and suddenly the picture looks a whole lot less sinister.
Once again, the $6 million revenue generated can not hide Lebron's huge ego. We all knew the man did this for himself, to make sure the whole world saw him for the attention wh0re that he is.

Its funny too, because watching them play, Ive seen a few instances, where he is stuck in his old mode of playing ball, where he goes one on 4-5 defenders, meanwhile he has capable teammates standing around.
He has to evolve a bit, change it up for this team he is currently on. It'll be interesting to see if he switches it up as time goes on, and they all play together, because like ive said....im of the opinion that if he continues to play that style of basketball, then Miami suddenly becomes very capable of losing more than they should.

I think the main reason people outside of Cleveland have disdain for him now is
1. The teasing.. having GM's / owners coming to him when he already had his mind up to play for the Heat. Wasted time and gave fans a false sense of hope.
2. Then he let it come crashing down with the Decision 1 hour long special on ESPN. (I didn't watch it btw.. found out hours later about his decision .. and I honestly couldn't believe it.. i'll leave that for #3)
3. He chose the path of least resistance by teaming up with the 2nd best player in the league AND an all-star caliber big.
I am telling you right now.. Nobody in their right mind would've been upset had he went to New York (which was rumored for ages and ages.. most on the outside expected him to) and played with Amare or Bosh.. Nobody.
Sure he's done more foolish stuff he's done since.. but those are the main problems people have/had with LeBron.
To the people who hate LeBron for leaving Cleveland.. He owes Cleveland NOTHING.. not a damn thing. Had LeBron not been as great of a player he was/is, nobody would've cared.
I just checked the newspaper today and read that a few players got waived by the Rockets.. You think owners care for them? The bottom line is money.. LeBron is an elite player, one of the best to ever play the game.. he's money maker and has earned every dime he got paid by the owner. He generated a lot of money for the Cavaliers and the city of Cleveland for years.. At one point, Cleveland was in the top 10 most valuable franchises on forbes. He's done plenty for that team/franchise.. and doesn't owe Dan Gilbert squat.

If anything Haters are the insecure and needy of spotlight because it is the only way they know how to get noticed.

Where have you been in 2004? :oldlol:
With Kobe it was a little different. I remember the commentators praising him for being brave because he was spending all day in court and then playing basketball at night. Nobody took the rape allegation against him seriously, he was more got on for cheating on his wife and that tat he got (which being honest was kinda lame).
Its amazing to me that people hated him more for Shaq getting traded than the rape allegation.
You haters are pathetic though, you are ok with spitting and calling Lebron names and expect him to just take it and STFU..... soon as he lets you know he caught your attention.... you immediately start whining... Lebron is a human to, he aint no robot....
GET A LIFE
Wow you LeBron stans are the most sensitive *****'s on the internet. You morons constantly defend him like he is your dad or something. LeBron dosen't give a rats azz about you man! You never even meet the guy but stand up for him like he cares about you or something.
Pathetic....

I don't really remember the media that much, but this place was going nuts 5-6 years ago. Compared to that, what's happening this year is a walk in the park.

No its just pathetic to keep defending a guy constantly (Kuwsoka, evilmonkey) and having a man crush on a dude that wouldn't care if you died tomorrow. I mean its one thing if you speak on his game on the court and defend him as a player but these guys defend him for being a narcissist and complete self-centered, egotistical, pompous person and defend his stupid antics , that is just sad. Seriously these clowns defend LeBron like he is their dad or something with how sensitive they get and how much they defend him.

What do you expect when your accused of raping a girl? When those accusations come out you're destined to be criticized. Especially when you admit to having sex with her out of wedlock (which to some people is a huge deal) and the manuscripts are released where you basically throw you're team-mate and the leagues most popular player under the bus.
And also at that time Kobe had a bigger core of defenders then than LeBron has now. I think a lot of that was simply due to the size of the Lakers fanbase, and the fact that Bron left his home-town team but the point still remains.
Wow you LeBron stans are the most sensitive *****'s on the internet. You morons constantly defend him like he is your dad or something. LeBron dosen't give a rats azz about you man! You never even meet the guy but stand up for him like he cares about you or something.

Do you seriously not see the hypocrisy in you calling people who defend LeBron pathetic when you mindlessly bash anything he does? If one side is pathetic isn't the other side equally as pathetic?
:facepalm

I only defend him as a player though because after all he is the best player on my favorite team but as a person Kobe is an ass also.
I don't always defend Kobe either. Believe me I bashed Kobe when he was threatening to leave us to play for Chicago or the Clippers back in 2007 and I bashed him and Shaq back in '03/'04 for that childish feud and even earlier this past season I criticized him for him forcing too many shots and said his shot selection needs improvement.
The LeBron apologists are just pathetic though they defend everything he does him like they are Gloria James and only see him through their rose-tint glasses and think he can do no wrong.

Bringing back elementally morale's point you realize that in 2004 there were fans on this site defending Kobe for cheating on his wife and being accused of rape right? They made Katelyn Faber out to be the world's biggest whore and personal details of her life and pictures of here were released all over the Internet. Everyone knew that she had another man's sperm on her panties the day she had sex with Kobe.
People defend people they admire. It happens in all walks of life, and its no different with LeBron.

The difference is though people are saying Kobe actually raped that girl without any proof or even any hard evidence, the sexual assault accusations are as ridiculous as the claims that Michael Jordan's father was killed because of his gambling debts. That's isn't really necessarily defending someone like they way LeBron apologists are defending him like he is actually a member of their family or something. We are calling out people for accusing at man of being a convicted rapist when he was found to be innocent.
Are you really comparing morons defending all of Lebron's foolish and childish antics to people defending Kobe because people were saying he is a rapist without any proof or even any evidence whatsoever?

What do you mean no proof? He admitted he had sex with her and she told him no. That's more than you have in the ordinary rape case. The thing was just dropped because she got tired of cooperating with the whole ordeal and took his money in exchange for dropping the charges. Happens all the time.
Oh and not trying to insinuate that Kobe raped her, and if I was his lawyer/agent I would have advised Kobe to do exactly what he did. Going through a trial on this would have been horrible for his image even if he wasn't found guilty.

I don't know the girl was at a party the next day after the alleged incident and was bragging to her friends about sleeping with Kobe and describing the size of his pen*s.

He's done plenty for that team/franchise.. and doesn't owe Dan Gilbert squat.
are you serious... he did owe us somthing
we did every single thing he asked our organization to do for. i'm not saying that it means he had to stay. but he 100% owed our organization some respect. after all we did for him he refuses to talk to our management and locks us down for 3 years with he shitty contracts. he had to chance to bring bosh to cleveland but refused to tell bosh that he was gonna stay in cleveland. he could have a better team in cleveland then miami if he would have stayed and talked to bosh.
anyway you can't say he didnt owe us anything cause he totally disrespected the entire management and fanbase by not talking to them throughout the process essentially locking us down througout the offseason.

There's a difference between hating someone and laughing at him for being retarded and trying too hard to make a fool of him self.
For an example of hating, see raptorfans_07's numerous 1000 word hate essays in any thread involving Kobe.
For an example of the latter, see some of Lebron's recent sayings below:
"Sometimes the coaches tell me to be selfish, but my game won’t let me be selfish.”
"I can't defer, I'm never in defer mentality."
"A person like myself always needs a great sidekick"
"I just can't hold it back because my leadership skills won't allow me"

It's kind of hilarious. When you see a new thread and read it and start at page one, you see something civilized... an actual discussion, but if you skip that and go directly to the last page you see the 'true colors.' And it's funny how every thread that goes over a certain amount of pages 'devolves' into a versus thread or a hate thread.
That being said, LeBron will get plenty of hate when they don't win the ring this year... I hope he's ready for it.

Overreact my balls. And NO ONE HERE is "catching feelings"
You're obviously overreacting, and you obviously DO CARE. LeBron's retweets was just him having fun, did you see the things that some of the people said, ****ing hillarious. It wasn't him "feeding his ego" or whatever, he's just being funny.
