Those kids were being disrespectful but I seen Charlie Murphy's last comedy special and it was really really dry.

man that was hard to watch, both for Charlie Murphy and the students. The best scenario is for Charlie to retire. he didn't deserve that no matter how bad he was.

Absolutely shocked there wasn't a riot. I think black people are losing their edge. Back to basics.

Charlie Murphy is a terrible stand up comic, he make Shawn Wayans look like Richard Pryor.
He is however a great sketch performer ans story teller (if y'all have Chappelle Show Season 2 bonus disc, you know what I'm talkin' bout.)

"What's a moron cu?z"
Old white guy "hey, are you guys on a basketball team?"
paralyzed football player "*** Eddie Murphy, I got money, *** Beverly Hills Cop"
Charlie Murphy is a terrible comedian, but I actually liked how he responded to this crowd giving him crap.

Never seen Charlie's standup but I can say that the joke he was telling has ABSOLUTELY no chance of working. It needs a major edit joke if not just flat out throwing it away. It is way too wordy

I put him in the same category as Mike Epps. Not funny at all on stage with a mic. Funny (at times) on the big screen. I saw Charlie at the Improv and the only reason I think people laughed was because dude looks like he is going to beat the sh*t out of you if you don't laugh.

The funniest thing is when he actually walks off the staged.
"This is you guy's money, right? That ya'll paid to Charlie Murphy to come see ya'll right? Ya'll can have it back, **** you." *drops mic*

Yeah I seen Charlie Murphy's stand up special.....not good at all.
There is nothing worst seeing live the a Comedian tanking. It sucks...cause you want to laugh but if they are off they just do not have it. And this hapens to all Comics man...even the Chris Rock's, Eddie Murpy's, and Pryor's.
Make you feel hella awkward more then anything just watching them tank.

I thought Charlie Murphy was supposed to be some hard cat from the streets, but his feelings are hurt by a crowd of 19 year olds. :oldlol:

He got booed off stage when he came to Cleveland too a few years ago. People gotta understand that script-funny doesn't always translate to standup comedy funny

i heard after the show the students served him pancakes.
yeah... pancakes.
Yo he was terrible. And Mike Epps is a terrible stand up comedian. He made me cringe when I was watching him. The best part of his stand up routine is watching him do that stupid smile :D then he searches around the room to clown someone because he has no material to feed the audience.
Whoever made this video should edit it with Eddie Murphy laugh. That what this video needed when his brother got butt hurt. That laugh would have been spot on.

Nah it wouldve been funny if he put it in his pocket then proceeded to say f*ck yall while dropping the mic. Giving the money back and cursing? Fail. He wasted his time to perform, got boo and didnt get paid. People dont feel bad getting thier money back. They feel bad getting thier money took.

The problem with Charlie Murphy was that he was never a comedian before the Chappelle show. Being on that show made him a celebrity before he was a standup. Then he started doing standup as a celebrity, which is really tough. It takes years to get your act down, develop your material, timing etc. It reminds me alot of what happened to Brock in UFC.....was already a name and was headlining shows before he had the chops.

This exactly. He was a bit-part actor and writer who suddenly landed cult status because he told brilliantly funny anecdotes over lunch on the Chappelle's Show set. He started doing standup just a couple years ago, didn't grow up hopping comedy clubs for years and developing the instincts you need to reclaim a crowd that's turning on you.
I respect anyone who's got balls enough to get onstage though, and this was a pretty cool way to respond to bombing :oldlol: At least he gave them their money back.

He came to my university freshman year and while I didn't see the show, he did get pretty bad reviews.
His stories on Chappelle's Show are hilarious though.

His anecdotes could translate to a quality act with some tweaks to his presentation. It is amazing how much his act could be helped just by having him sit on a stool while performing.

I've heard from several comedians [not personally] that they think he's hilarious. I believe he hasn't been doing standup long and the magic number that most comedians give is 10 years. 10 years of doing standup is about how long it takes to reach whatever level most semi-sucessful/famous comedians are at right now.

Huh, he was acting as far back as the late 80s. He was basically the co-star in CB4 back in 93, 10 years before Chappelle's Show. He wrote Vampire in Brooklyn for his lil brother. Chappelle's Show made him more known, (as it did for the star of the show Dave Chappelle.) How well knows was Dave before his show, seriously maybe a lil more know than Charlie Murphy.
He started doin stand up in 2005 after Chappelle's Show ended.

Pretty funny. Nothing gut busting. I liked the bit about dogs in strollers and kids on leashes though
Do you think Tupac is mad at you for watching Arsenio Hall?

Eddie should go back to his roots sometime though. His 21st century movies have been horrendous, or at least the ones he has been in the frame for. His Donkey character in the Shrek movies was pretty funny.

What does Tupac have to do with Arsenio? He did Arsenio a few times back in the gap.
