Celtics players have been taking trash talk to a new level lately and backing it up with their game. With a league mired in pathetic technical foul calls and players opting for friendships over healthy competition I'm glad to see some players are still keeping it dirty.

That's what is so awesome about Paul is he talks shit after the fact even if what he's saying is totally bogus. Like when he said he was the best player in the world after they won the championship. Someone could say "No, it was (name)" and he'd be like that's why I won the Finals MVP right?

This comment was funny. I have a feeling guys were sitting around and talking about it and someone was like you should put that on your twitter... and he's like want me to? And they're like... you wouldn't.

Why do no NBA players have respect for Lebron like they do for Kobe and did for Jordan?

I'm guessing part of it is lack of fear. LeBron may put you on a list, but when the going gets tough he's more likely to shut down or just go ahead and join your team.

Another is probably age. I remember guys like Ray Allen taking issue publicly with Kobe before, and veterans having the same with Jordan in his early years.

Yeah, but when Ray, KG and himself got together, they dominated the conversation too. It just feels kinda stupid coming from him. It would be like Carmelo saying after beating the Lakers last night "Hey, saw Kobe in that COD commercial. Wonder if he shoots 6 for 24 in that too!"

It's just not really his place to go there.

The Celtics just beat the heat twice, and he has a history with Lebron. How is it not his place to say anything? When you beat a team in their building you have certainly earned the right to talk.

He also probably felt like Lebron's "decision" special was g.a.y.

Lebron on the other hand made a spectacle of the whole process, from the minute his season ended he did everything he could to keep his name in the news and on the front page ending with one of the most ill conceived ideas now known as "The Decision"

Now he's paying the price for having such a big ego, you throw yourself onto the stage like that expect to get tomatoes thrown at you when your act flops...

They clearly have a problem with how they got together, but the funny thing is if there's one team in the league with no room to complain about it, it's Boston.

Obviously history isn't your strong suit. Allen and KG played on garbage teams for years during their primes. Both of their teams completely sucked when they left and they were both past their prime. Not to mention that both were traded.

They didn't leave a 2 time 60 win team as a free agent at age 25.

People need to stop comparing the Miami "big 3" to the Boston "big 3", and trying to hold them to the same standard. Really, its not fair to the Heat 3. The Boston group not only fit together and complemented each other better, but they also had better support players - Rondo was coming into his own, Perkins was a serviceable big who fit in seamlessly, Posey, younger House, Powe, and then PJ Borwn and Cassell....

But why is it his place to say anything about what LeBron did this summer? It's fine if he wants to brag about winning, but the TV show had nothing to do with Pierce.

It was kind of similar to when Ray Allen criticized Kobe for Shaq leaving. It had nothing to do with Allen. He wasn't on the team and it was none of his business. It's fine if he thinks that, but it wasn't his place to publicly criticize something that had nothing to do with him.Really? Now we are worried about who's talking out of turn in class?

Allen was trying to get in Kobe's head and that's all that's going on here with Pierce, it's what players do, he talks trash, he also said they were not coming back to LA during the finals but they did.

If Lebron didn't want this type of attention he should have laid low in the summer, handled business differently but he didn't so now he can reap the rewards of putting himself out there.

You say it's none of Peirce's business?
It's everyone's business when you conduct business in the public eye. If Lebron had said I'm taking my talents to South Beach behind closed doors then I could see your argument, but he didn't, He held a one hour TV special, in primetime for all the world to see.

No, it doesn't.

Danny Ainge arranged two separate trades to get those players there. In fact, after the first trade went down (the Ray Allen trade) many experts said it was a terrible trade, giving away a top five pick in the draft for an old player on the decline.

After the Garnett trade, things looked a bit better but NOBODY picked them to win a championship until AFTER the season started (and they got off to such a good start... though most people still picked the Lakers to win after the Pau trade).

Danny Ainge trades got them there. They didn't all get together three years previous and plan on teaming up, like the Miami Fails did. Totally and completely different situations.

Lebron made a public statement on live tv that was shown nationwide. Pierce can talk as much as sh-t as he wants seeing how Boston has owned Miami twice now this season. Maybe it'll make Lebron a little more humble now that he knows Miami isn't simply going to steamroll through the league.

How can you honestly say that? Cleveland swept L.A. in the regular season last year, one of the games being a 15 point win that caused L.A. fans to boo their own team, and they were unanimously chosen to beat Boston, plus they even had a 2-1 lead in the series. To which not one poster has been able to offer a credible argument to say that this was anything more than a lame attempt to come off as cool by Pierce. He interjected himself into something that had nothing to do with him. It was lame. It's Trash Talk! There doesn't have to be a credible reason.

Christ do players now have to file trash talk paperwork with the league office and have it run by a team of comedy writers for it to be ok'd.

Pierce spun Lebron's very own words and made a funny. Get over it.

It's not even just about LeBron. I just think it was weak. He's trash talking about something that had nothing to do with him. It's just lame.

If he had said "The East still runs through us!" or something that would've been fine. It's interjecting yourself in something that was kind of none of your business.

STFU.

Lerobin made "The Decision", everyones business.

Thats why he gets ridiculed for it. Because something as simple as signing with another team,

he made into a grand event.

That team was/is in shambles. They had major weaknesses and players that weren't good enough, with no serious assets. They weren't going to win a championship.

A fake. It refers to rappers who come into the studio to record an album about how gangster they are, but that's only in the studio. Outside the studio they're not a gangster at all.

Thus, they are a "studio gangster".

Quote that was discussed a little here but IMO deserves more attention:
"Paul who?" Haslem shot back. "Man, ain't nobody paying them dudes no attention, man. You know what studio gangster is? Look up that, look up the definition of studio gangster. I'm here to play basketball. First of all, I don't tweet. So I wouldn't know what he tweeted if you guys didn't tell me."Did Haslem really just call Pierce a nobody? Does Haslem think he's got more of a following than PP? If he wants to hear about what P tweeted he can just ask his teammates Lebron James and Chris Bosh. I'm pretty sure they have twitter accounts.

I will say that Haslem is the toughest guy on that team, and may be the best leader over there. Which isn't a good thing, him not being a starter and all.

Neither of them is a real thug. I've never seen Pierce get in a fight in an NBA game. Nor should he. David Stern doesn't allow guys to act that way anymore. The only guys in the NBA that could be true brawlers are Artest (who saw/sees a psychiatrist to deal with his issues), Delonte West (ditto) and maybe Ben Wallace. NBA isn't a fighter's league at all.

Which makes Haslem's "studio gangster" line a bit dumb.
