i dont want to be a downer but his PER is under 20. He's doing a good job the last few second halves but he's not exactly having an MVP season overall.

Kobe's been the best player on the best team in the league. For now it's a slow start but noones saying kobe MVP for now.

The MVP will be Durant, Howard, or CP3 and most likely Durant unless his team doesn't win 50 games. He's going to average 31+ ppg

The king of overreaction threads with another. Award is still with cp3. I'd much prefer to have D-Will playing great from the start and not have to worry about all these close finishes, sure it is nice getting the wins, but i don't think i can take this sort of stress all season long.

There's a reason the NBA season is 82 games long..
It's way too early to be talking MVP. But, if we're determined to, CP3 is number 1 right now. Solely because his team is the last undefeated team in the NBA and no one in their right mind would have predicted that at the start of the season..
D-Will is however, a top 3 candidate at this point of the season. And i'd still take Deron over Chris Paul any day of the week. But still.. If we're gonna make a pre-mature declaration of who should win.. Chris Paul is leading the way

isn't "PER" the thing that john hollinger came up with?
frankly, that should recommend d-will even more, right there.
although, yeah... good luck getting past durant and kobe. or even the knucklehead brothers (lebron-wade).

If only D-Will had had even MORE assists tonight...against a MUCH better team...and in doing so, had led his team to an UNDEFEATED record.
Oh wait, there is such a guy. Sorry D-Will, no soup for you. Not even close.

No, it's not size. When Lakers play Jazz and the game is close, I cringe when Deron has the ball cos you never know what's coming.
Could be a 3, a crossover and step-back, a drive and dunk or a nice dish. With CP3, i'm looking to see who's open for 3 and not really worried about him personally burning us in a halfcourt situation
CP3 is a GREAT player but Deron just scares me more. Does size play a part? Sure but bottom-line is, he just has more ways to beat you

I'm starting to wonder if the Jazz like being down big early. I mean c'mon, when the Bobcats were up like 20 in the first half, i knew Utah was gonna come back and win the game. It's crazy what they're doing right now.

CP3 17-5.2-10.2
Dwill 21.3-4.7-10.1
It's a close race and both teams are doing well. NOH is clicking on all cylinders and the Jazz are starting wake up. It should be a close race for the best PG title year.
People need to stop bickering about who's better and just watch.

The stat that matters the most when comparing PG's = Turnovers. Can you shine some light here? because throughout their careers, the only stat i've seen Dwill dominate CP3 in, is turnovers.

You already have shown you have no talent in evaluating PG's by saying Westbrook is better than Rondo so why should we care about you beliving Cp is better than D-Willl?

Do you really believe that Dwill deserves the MVP over CP3 if Hornets_record > Jazz_record after 82 games? Regardless of both players numbers considering they will be almost identical.

well, the Deron > Paul argument is mainly based on the gut and truthiness. I'm not saying stats are the only thing that are important but when someone is on an undefeated team with a full 10 points higher PER than another player, it's strange to see people arguing the second player has had a better season. How many people actually watch the Hornets besides when they play your teams?

everyone's been watching them recently because of how exciting their comebacks have been. somehow playing awful in the first half and coming back > steamrolling your opponents so you don't have to play much down the stretch

That's because for some magical reason Utah has a annoyingly tough schedule to start the season. And the people they play like Miami,Orlando,Denver,Suns and Atlanta were all televised on Tnt,Espn and Nba TV.
Utah has always been a bad road team everyone knows this. However no one expects them to win on the road. And so far they've been proving people wrong. And that's what's gotten peoples attention. The team who couldn't even beat teams like the Kings on the road can now fight for long enough to beat playoff teams on the road behind the talent of D-Will

i picked Deron over Kobe in fantasy this year and i'll stick by that.
i historically hate the Jazz as a Sonics rival but it's hard not to like them with D Will running the point. this run of road game comebacks is the most amazing regular season anomaly i can remember seeing in the NBA.

Right now to me Dwight is 1st in MVP. His team is quite pathetic anymore, nobody other then Him and VC/sort of Jameer can create under the hoop, and their whole offense really hinges on them being able to get the ball to Dwight (which they suck at by the way) and then having him get a good shot in the post, or throwing it out to the three point line. This year they've seemed to move from a team that scores from outside in to inside out, mostly because Dwight has seemed to improve as a post player. Second would be CP3/Dwill tie (though Millsap has been almost as important) and then fourth is Kobe.

And how is that? Do you think the team is even in the top 1/2 of the league on defense without him? Do you think they're getting all those 3s they rely on so much? Who is there go to scorer? The Magic would be screwed without Dwight.
