Actually I would say this. I liked the album enough, but it's not something I really go outta my way to listen too. It didn't do to much for me.

I'm biased... but I say it's a Top 3 - Top 5 all-time rap album. Not exactly underrated. Easily a timeless classic. More so than 36 Chambers. No other Wu album flows better than LS; hard to really say any other albums flow better Wu or not.

No, it's one of the GOAT and is resicgnized as such by most people i know. I'd say Cormegas new album Born and Raised is pretty damn underrated. It;s the best hip-hop album ive heard in the last 10 years.

also, these albums are really underrated imo:

Although this album is recognized as one of the best by hardcore NYC hip hop heads, it is still the most underrated hip-hop album of all time, in my opinion - and the best Wu Affiliate album:

What is it with some posters here acting like they discovered a diamond in the rough with Gza album? Reminds me of the love affair some had about that wacko movie Donnie Darko.
And OGC album sucked balls. I gave it away for free to one of my friends. Only got it because of that hit single. Starange Wonder had a dope solo song on there. Cant think of the name.

LOL ... your rap music tastes is always butt sauce baby doo-doo squirts. All good man.
That OGC album was fire. Most heads will say the same. Sorry you can't feel the real from the fake.
About Cormega ... I'm a big fan. His production skills so nice. I love his throw-back chill NYC style instrumentals ... loved his work with Lake on that album that dropped a few years back forgot the title??? Album was dope... I have it... I've bumped it a good four five times cant think of the title LOL.

OGC album was trash. Most heads? Like who? Guys who love the unknown artists with funny sounding names "MC Solarix", "Saturnz" who think they are dope? Ok. Outside of BCC fanboys, I dont know most heads who think OGC album was a banger. It was weak much like your redundant responses to me in hip hop threads.
Oh look, Lakey the kid album was fire! An artist not many know of besides locals and Cormega fans/followers. But hey you heard the album so you're official. You're certified. Did you hear Philly artist Riptides album? Its gold. He delivers some of the most dope lyrics unheard of. Exceptional stuff. Production is top notch as well. Great album to say the least. I say to say the least. :facepalm

OGC Da Storm is nice. Throw that album on a good system and bass is amazing.
Other under-appreciated albums are Camp Lo - Saturday Night Fever, and Capone N Noreaga - War Report.

I agree.... I have it in my top 5 all time, and I also agree that it isn't underrated. Most hip hop cats rank it highly and it is usually considered to be one of the best (if not THE best) Wu solo project.
Now.... if we wanna talk about underrated, then a true underrated album would be Killah Priest's 'Heavy Mental'.
I rarely see it ranked or in best of lists.

If you are LIVING IN THE WORLD TODAY, remember to read the LABELS when entering the COLD WORLD OF KILLAH HILLS 10304. INVESTIGATIVE REPORTS state that the DUEL OF THE IRON MIC took place in the 4TH CHAMBER, and it was the infamous SHADOWBOXIN
OGC Da Storm is nice. Throw that album on a good system and bass is amazing.

Camp Lo album would fall under that category for sure. CNN is pretty well respected.

The Camp Lo album isn't that great.
It has about 4 good tracks and well.... that's about it.
I loved the 4 good tracks but it was underwhelming overall, and not really worthy of being called a great album. Sad, because they had tons of potential, they weren't smooth, they were smoooove and slick with it.... one of my fav groups of all time.

I lost that album like 3 days after I bought it.
LS is pretty highly rated so it can't really be underrated. I'd say his next 2 albums are underrated, though.

To each his own..but, the album is a classic. Hurricane Starang (the song your referring to) isn't even one of the top songs on the album, though it's still nice. "Calm Before Da Storm", "No Fear", "Gunn Clapp", "Elite Fleet" are some of the best tracks the BCC has put out. OGC's second album "The M-Pire Strikes Back" was a huge disappointment to me though.

cormega's 'born and raised' isn't underrated: it's a solid album by a great lyricist who can't flow. granted, there are some nice beats on there, but there are also bland cuts aplenty.

I'm not big on Dilated. If anything (IMO), they're overrated because they're regarded highly in some circles. Ear Drums Pop (remix) was the standout track from Platform, but otherwise just IMO, album was weak.
People Under the Stairs is not my cup of tea either. Not a big fan. San Francisco Knights is about the only song I've considered notable.

The most underrated album in hip hop, as proven in this thread by a complete lack of mention, is....
http://www.wmaker.net/magnifyk/docs/sticky_fingaz_.blacktrash.jpg
STICKY FINGAZ
BLACK TRASH: THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF KIRK JONES
One of the best conceptual albums ever made. Never deviates from the story or the point of the album. Every joint is crack, sick beats, amazing lyrics, and a rawness that only an Onyx member can conjure.
Listen to this track, where Sticky gets on his paranoid, jealous vibe and sheds light on how shady the girls in our life are

Check out this track, where Kirk Jones has an in-depth convo with a philosophical greater Entity...
Oh my God (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLOsUc8MbEg)
Another example of greatness, a real storytelling gem, Kirk comes out of jail and meets up with his boy after being found guilty in court and doin his time

It is not underrated these days although I kind of like it not being front and center like a few others. To me, it's the greatest and most perfectly cut hip-hop record of all-time and basically belongs to it's own universe like Outkast's 1996 masterpiece ATLiens. I'm simply not comfortable even comparing it to the other era classics that blend together for discussion with relative ease such as Illmatic, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Reasonable Doubt, Ready to Die, The Infamous, Doe or Die, etc. Plenty of differences abound there as well of course, but not to the dimension LS takes it. Definitely not an album for just anybody, nor is GZA as an MC.
this and Illmatic are 2 of my favorite albums
Was about to post the same
also in Killah hillz 10304
i love the reference to Paul Castellano in the beginning and Sammy the Bull snitching near the end.
