Pat Riley's head would explode if he was coaching this team and Bosh said that.

Who was he talking about wanting to work?

Spoelstra.

Translation:

The coach wants to put pressure on us to work hard during practices & games, but we would rather relax and play care-free basketball. So the coach is going to have to meet us halfway and let us have time to chill, lay back, and hope we can beat teams without trying too hard.

I'd hope so. But he doesn't have anything in his background to suggest he doesn't mean that literally. Bosh has always had a losing personality which is why him saying it is getting attention. Lets be honest, you know hes going to disappear in the Playoffs.

Chris Bosh Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GZAZ_enUS359US361&q=chris+bosh+chill#sclient=psy&hl=en&rlz=1T4GZAZ_enUS359US361&source=hp&q=chris+bosh+chill&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=chris+bosh+chill&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=1a830a797d8f1890)

Well, when you have the talent that Miami does and they struggle with chemistry and energy, that's gonna fall on the coach and rightfully so.

the "coach has to meet us halfway" thing was just awful. i expect a clarification tomorrow, even though it will be bullshit. he was feeling good and loose about his game and the win, and he spoke his mind. which is a terrible idea

That falls on the players considering they are the ones who came together with the purpose of winning & becoming a dynasty. I would put it on Coach Spo if it were an already good team that he inherited, but this team was only formed due to all of these guys wanting to win.

Wade should've never teamed with these divas. Wade plays the way hes supposed to play, is a leader, and doesn't complain to the media. He has to deal with these 2 fools becoming media stories each time they open their dumbass mouths.

LeBron whining about minutes and comparing himself to Randy Moss.:oldlol:

I do think we're kind of making too much of this. Bosh probably just meant that they feel they need to play the games and not panic, while Spolestra wants more practice.

Still interesting that it seems to be a democracy. Not usual for a sports team.

Just reaffirms what we've all come to find out about the 'big 3' since the summer- these guys wanted the path with the least resistance, didn't want to challenge themselves, just wanted the easiest route possible to rings. They probably figured teams would be in awe of them like they were the '92 Dream Team in Barcelona and that they would roll out the red carpet for them and just hand over wins and championships. Then Boston b*tch-slapped them back to reality and other blunders along the way made them realize 'hey, we might have to put in some work after all :( ' and now Bosh wants to take his ball and go home.

Miami failing badly this year could be exactly what they need to succeed in the future.
Maybe if they crash and burn this season they'll realize that just having 3 big names isn't enough to win. Teams don't win at the elite level without working their butts off.

Avon Barksdale

It's pretty mind boggling that something like that could come out of an NBA player's mouth. :facepalm

I've tried thinking of a way in which maybe it was taken out of context, or he was just joking, but I don't think there's anyway to justify the stupidity of that statement. It's bad enough to think that way as a professional athlete on a team expected to contend, let alone be dumb enough to come out and say it. :facepalm

Hitting some jumpers against a team with a weak front court doesn't give you carte blanche to make stupid comments to the media, and it's ridiculous that he doesn't know any better. I think Riley really needs to take over, I don't think Spoelstra has the reputation/status to put these guys in their place. It's like an out of control classroom with a substitute teacher.

Spo: Chris I need you to work hard and maintain your rebounding average from last year

Bosh: Nah coach, instead of getting 11 or 12 boards, I'm thinking more like 5 or 6. We gotta compromise.

LeBron: Coach, can we talk about my minutes?

Bosh is a pretty peculiar cat. He gave no indication that what he was referring to was an overreaction by the coaching staff to early-season problems. That isn't what I got out of it at all.

It sounded to me like he was complaining about the length and intensity of practice each day. :confusedshrug:

I already hate the heat, and hearing this made me want to vomit....

And I have never brought up Kobe in a non-Kobe topic, and I'm a Laker fan and not a kobe ball-washer, but even if you hate him at least you can see part of the reason why he wins...

Kobe has a notorious reputation for working his ass off, for pushing his teammates, and putting winning before anything else....

I hope the heat trade bosh to a Carmelo-less denver for chauncey. And then Lebron gets injured and the heat lose every game this season.

Like Riles is gonna cater to their demands or go easier on them. That said Bosh and LeBron need to realize everything they say will always be subject to public scrutiny. You wanted the spotlight you got it. The difference in attitude between those two and Wade is almost too evident. his also the only one who has had a good shaq, mourning and all the other savvy veterans. also refs

True, but any notions of him not being the Heat's best leader should be dispelled by now. And feel free to disagree but 2nd year Bron/Bosh wouldn't have won with that Heat team.

Wow. Hard to fathom the stupidity of that statement. Bosh better pray Riley doesn't take over as coach. He'll be begging for a trade back to Toronto. Riley is a notorious hard azz. I would have paid to see his reaction when he heard about this.

Why are heat fans making excuses for his comments?

I'm a Laker fan and if any Laker player said this, I would be pissed at him. Not to mention Kobe would tear him a new Asshole

At first glance, it seems this statement is rather retarded, but when you think about it, it's common sense. I'm pretty sure obama would rather chill then work hard, that doesnt mean that he doesnt work hard tho. I guess i just need to see the actual interview.

What does this have to do with Obama? :confusedshrug:

The statement isn't the problem. Its Bosh saying it, considering his role as 3rd wheel and being one of the most overpaid players in the NBA.

It doesn't have anything to do with obama, just used him as an example. All I'm saying is that it is human nature to relax rather then work hard. Hah funny clip.

It is human nature to relax, however when as a team it is the duty of everyone to motivate each other to work hard, not relax together.

You go to work with people. You relax by yourself. You dont go to work to relax with other men.

I didn't see the interview yet but all he said is that the heat would rather chill than work, that statement alone doesn't show whether or not bosh and the rest of the heat are in fact working hard or slacking off. Though you don't want to hear that from a pro athlete, all I'm saying is that bosh is just stating a simple fact.

And yes I do know that the guy is in a slump but at the same time I do know that CB is awesome and this sh*t is only temporary.

It did sound pretty terrible. With the way he said it, you can't even make the excuse that he was misinterpreted. Hopefully somebody puts a boot in his ass.

I also thought he was trying to defend the coach when I read it online, but seeing the interview... no. He really does seem to be saying exactly what everyone is criticizing him for. It just blows my mind that people read this and think the solution is Riley. Really? You mean Mr. "My shin kind of hurts so Imma skip practice" LeBron James is going to enjoy Pat Riley's grueling practices? The same ones that supposedly lead to the double hamstring blowout the Lakers suffered in the playoffs back in the day? I dunno, maybe Riley has changed his tune and is all about chilling out in South Beach now. He did give up on his team to go scouting one season after all.
