Michael's son might just be something special. Obviously his older brother sucks, but Marcus is a star in the making. Hes putting up crazy numbers so far and has taken a major leap from his freshman season. I watched the Florida/UCF game and he carried them on his back in crunch time.

They were saying during the game that he was disappointed by his poor freshman season(by his standards) and spent the last 7 months working out with his dad & personal trainers to improve his game. He also added 10lbs of muscle, and fixed his shooting mechanics.

I was wrong, I thought he was overrated because of being Jordan's son. His son has legit talent & a work ethic to get better.

Hes shooting 56% from the Field and shooting 52% from 3.

Hes averaging 16.8 PPG in just 22 MPG.

The Bobcats or Bulls would probably draft him.

Nah his older brother did.

Marcus at least has some sort of the basketball genetics of his father. Hes like 6'3/6'4 200lbs, is a solid athlete, can dunk, can attack the basket, is vocal on the court calling out his teammates, etc. The fact he worked so hard during the offseason says a lot about where he wants to be as a player.

Its kinda hard watching him play because everything he does you kinda want to compare to his dad.

Yeah he's actually a pretty good athlete. I'm saying short end of the stick when comparing him to his dad. Which probably isn't fair.

Hes listed by UCF at 6'3/205.

I agree he'll have to learn to play the PG position and be somewhat capable, I'd move him there after watching how well he handles the ball. He didn't force passes which a lot of guys do in the college game.

You're right.

It always seems like scrub/role player NBA players' kids end up getting better genetics.

I always wondered why the kids of guys like Bird, Irving, Magic, Kareem, Russell, Wilt, etc never had a kid who had their fathers' talent/genes passed down to them. At the very least had some sort of height. :confusedshrug:

Bill Walton at least had a son who had NBA talent. He had 4 sons who played in college too. If you combined all 4 into 1, you could've had a Super Walton son who could start.

Cobb: I will not follow in my father's footsteps. Now this is obviously an idea that Marcus Jordan will choose to reject - which is why we need to plant it deep in his subconscious. Subconscious is fueled by emotion, right? Not reason. We need to find a way to translate this into an emotional concept.
Arthur: How do you translate basketball into an emotion?
Cobb: looks at Arthur with that "not sure if serious face"
montage of NBA commercials showing basketball=emotion
Eames: Well, can we run with that? Suggest stop playing basketball as a "screw-you" to the old man?
Cobb: No, cause I think positive emotion trumps negative emotion every time. We all crave reconciliation - catharsis. We need Marcus Jordan to have a positive emotional reaction to all this.
Eames: Alright, well try this. My father accepts that I want to create for myself, not follow in his footsteps.
Cobb: That might work.
Arthur: *pauses* Wait, does that mean we don't want Marcus Jordan to sign with Nike?
Cobb: Adidas is paying us, remember?

I'm not so sure about Kareem and Russell,

It's about motivation. You can't really be motivated when you know that you are set for life.

Nothing Marcus could do would ever be better than his dad, and that's probably how he wants to measure himself.

I think that's why the role player's sons could be good because they knew if they worked they could be better than their father.

I don't think he's an NBA player as in someone who is going to be an important part of a championship team, but we'll see.

no man watch his UCF games i've been to a few last season and he has ups for sure but unless it's an easy dunk he's not throwing it down, he could come into the league and be another undersized scorer but he will never be an elite undersized guy like AI or Ellis.

Andre Miller has done OK in the League with a similar frame, height and less hops & speed.

Athletically, there's nothing stopping Marcus from playing the point the NBA. He has plenty of other obstacles, though. As does every 6'3'' (at best) guard.

I don't say that he can't do ok.

"Marcus scored 26 points, which was just an unbelievable effort, but the amazing thing was what he did defensively," UCF coach Donnie Jones said. "I challenged our guys at halftime to come out with an edge the first five minutes or we were going to the subs and [Jordan] certainly did that."

lol'd at all these people 'wondering' why kids of great players don't have the 'genes' etc. Its not simply genes, these pampered rich kids obviously aren't gonna have the same kind of dedication and work ethic that their parents did. he shouldn't get drafted. He isn't good enough.

Tough to say right now. Hes only 7 or so games into his Junior Year.

If he has a productive Senior season he'll be a 2nd Round Pick.

They moved him to PG, which I dont think will be his NBA position.

Bulls or the Bobcats might draft him, but seriously it's better for MJ 2.0 if he plays in China or increase his stocks in the Euroleague.

His numbers are down compared to last season. Marcus is gonna make it into the NBA if the Bobcats draft him in the 2nd round.

MJ 2.0 also love white girls just like his father.

He can play in Germany with Stockton's son. Watched another of John's kids play for Gonzaga last week. Had some of his dads game.

Generational hating won't change the fact that your favorite player will never be seen as better than the GOAT

It's over.
