James was born on December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio, to a 16-year-old mother, Gloria. His biological father, Anthony McClelland, was an ex-convict who left Gloria and forced her to raise LeBron by herself. Unnofficial Cavaliers T-shirts stating "Like Father Like Son" will be sold at tonights game outside of Quiken Loans Arena

I wonder why Cleveland has made this so personal. To bring the guy's family life/upbringing into this is ridiculous. I blame the sports journalists and writers/radio personalities who seem like their only job is to push and prod people into fanatical, emotional states.

What they did was wrong and went too far but too many sports history have some ugly harsh called. Cliff Lee's wife went to Yankees and Yankees fans throw at her, throw beer at her and said some harsh at her, which is worst than "Like Father, Like Son". Cliff Lee said...not surprised because it's sports so what do you expect?

I'll give them clever, good bar joke maybe, but wrong to actually be selling it. I dont get how people can kick back and say "Well, that's sports..:confusedshrug:"
Just because worst things have happened, doesnt make the lesser any better.. its not even a discussion.

I'm not a big fan of labeling an entire fanbase based on idiotic moves made by a small percentage of the whole. Perhaps one has an issue with the fact that such a large chunk of Cleveland fans are seemingly upset at LeBron's decision, but I do not think it's fair to throw all those guys under the same blanket when something like this "Like Father, Like Son" debacle comes about.
I have found a lot of the backlash from Cleveland fans to be tough and sometimes perhaps unfair. The response videos, the burning of the jerseys, I haven't had too much issue with these. The super personal stuff though largely seems to be the work of a couple of people looking for attention, money, or both.
I think I have grown to withhold judgment on entire fanbases after what I went through with the Malice at the Palace incident.

Totally agreed.
I hear some reporter or something a day or so ago that Cavs fans actually love what Dan Gilbert said etc in his letter! Despite essentially making no NBA free agent want to play for his team, fans love him for it. :facepalm

over the top. im rooting for the cavs strictly b/c of the lebron fans believing he won 60+ games the past couple years and a few playoff series on his own. If lebron is responsible for all those victories, then he must be responsible for the losses. Not just for the cavs but the heat this year.
Last 2 years the cavs have been real annoying. Lebron and his teamates doing that pre-game routine like they are the best thing since sliced bread. I chuckled when I hear Mo williams might retire. Little ***** pet self doesnt have a superstar to back him up now lol
Cavs really have the most delusional fans in the league. Lebron kept them at a contender level for almsot 5 years, otherwise they would be known as Clippers of the east. They are just showing all the more reason that he made the right choice to leave.

If he kept them a contender for 5 years then it looks like lebron is keeping the heat from being a contender to beat the bulls win record and the lakers consecutive streak record
tasteless.

You have no idea how LeBron would take it. I know plenty of people who are still sensitive to the same thing....20, 30, sometimes 40 years later. I agree that he should just ignore it, but that goes without saying. It's just the ultimate sign of disrespect and pure hate. The Delonte thing is bad enough. There really is no need for something like this.

Well, LeBron joined a heavily flawed (read: no legit center or point guard) team, and is still trying to develop some chemistry with his superstar teammates.
Sure, LeBron can take most of the blame for not delivering Cleveland a championship. But you must be joking if the Cavs' success wasn't mostly due to LeBron's presence.
