WOW...
Continue his greatness?
Man...speechless.
UPDATE
Here is what LeBron exactly said
...
"I got the utmost respect for this franchise, the utmost respect for these fans...and...you know...just continue the greatness for myself here in Miami and continue to get better everyday"
Craig: Do you regret how it ended, do you want to apologize on how it ended?
"I don't want to apologize. I think....you know...my intentions were never to hurt anyone, my intentions were solely on the kids during the whole process."

Drop it dude...it was an emotional game...he said he respects the fans and the franchise, but he is focusing on getting himself to the next level...time to stop letting him hurt your feelings every time someone sticks a mic in his face.

He actually said, "more greatness for myself," which I think was refferring to the Heat continuing to improve as he alluded to in the previous sentence. Of course, when every thing you say and do is scrutinized so heavily, you can always be made to look bad.

LeBron's not the most eloquent speaker, we all know that, but he could praise the city of Cleveland for 30 minutes and the haters would just jump on the one phrase that doesn't quite sound right and run with it.
It's getting a little ridiculous.

Lebron hasn't developed an educated tone in talking. One thing you got to acknowledge from Lebron, he admits his flaws. He sticks with his mistakes, he could have apologized, although when the time comes with his next visit to Cleveland. He won't get any respect no matter what he says. Don't let the Media manipulate, and Graid Sager had to nerver to ask if he was going to apologize to the fans

He showed up and played big regardless of all the taunts etc. I think it would of been a smart and classy move to show nothing but love for Cleveland. He was doing that but then backtracked stood his ground on any apology...then came in that continue my greatness comment.
I was all good with LeBron till that...reminded me why I dislike him so much now.

If he had apologized, all you same people would have been bitching and questioning sincerity since he was prodded into doing so by Sager, just like people did this summer when he finally apologized. He knows it's no need even trying to appease people who go out of their way to nitpick everything to complain about.

Our team got its arss kicked tonight and quit, but you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. You just are guessing Maverick. He gives Turkey Dinners and then issues a press release that he did it; most people just do it. He was over 2 hours late to a black-tie affair in his honor last year that people paid $1,000 a plate for, and he (and his "team") showed up in jeans. He was the worst tipper in Akron and treated people like crap.
He kicked our arss tonight and was our best player in franchise history - fact. Your thought that he is a do gooder and cares about people is a bunch of shit. I know differently; I was there.

I see a couple people are saying LeBron did not say the "Continue my Greatness" comments. OK fair enough I only heard it live and then made this thread...Reggie Miller repeated it. But let's listen to it once again to see what he said exactly. It could of been "Continue THE Greatness". If that's the case it's the same thing. If some of you people don't have a problem with comments like that good for you. All I am saying is LeBron messed up his imagine and had a golden opp tonight to start to repair it. IMO he failed.
If the E-thugs want to label me "a b*tch" because of that :oldlol: sticks and stones. And if you disagree tell me why. How does making this statement help LeBron? I would like to know.

he didn't say either. He was referring to the team in that answer and getting better being propelled from this win and said, "more greatness for myself," and then went on to further mention the team.
He doesn't owe them an apology and I like that he's not going to let himself be bullied into apologizing. In his post game interview like he said, 7yrs, great memories here, never intended anything to be personal with the fans and both sides could have done things differently, but he never outright apologized and I don't think he needs to especially in light of being called all sorts of names and having people making personal shots at you and he's supposed to feel sorry for them and apologize to appease them? I would've gotten on the mic and told them they can all eat a dick and I don't currently and never will need them as much as they do me.
But did anybody else notice WALLY SCZERBIAK in front of LeBron meanmugging him during the powder thing pregame

Honestly it's a bit hard to understand exactly what he meant. He isn't exactly the most articulate speaker out there. I mean, he didn't say "his greatness", he said greatness for himself. The **** does that mean?:lol
It does seem a bit like people are just looking for a reason to hate though, and since he played great, you gotta look elsewhere for ammunition.

There are countless ways of attaining greatness, but any road to reaching one's maximum potential must be built on a bedrock of respect. Lebron's was not, therefore he lost all he had. The price of greatness is responsibility.

2 Finals MVPs, 2 Championships in a row ... yea, point proven.
If you wanted an award for inflated stats due to ball domination, where numbers are put up in meaningless stretches ... then yea, LeBron is easily the best player in the league. It has yet to translate to winning basketball for him, however.

Yeah, Lebron says stupid shit, and this was funny, too, but I separate Lebron the person, from Lebron the basketball player. I mean, the guy is great on the court, the best player in the league the last couple of years(couldn't think of one argument against him for either MVP) and a historically great player.
Very few have ever been at the level Lebron was the last 2 years.
I wish LeBron would develop his post game. Heat needs to hire Hakeem Olajuwon or Bill Walton next summer.

Not even close, LeBron groupie
Kobe Bryant / Chris Paul were the only legit options in 2008. Maybe a case could be made for KG. But his case isn't as strong as Bryant and Paul's.
Kobe should've been MVP in 2006, and 2007.

Yes, he has the best team. Why? Because he can mesh his talents with other superstars.
We're still seeing if LeBron can do that, and so far he hasn't been. And as of right now, on paper the Heat have more TALENT than the Lakers. You have 2 of the games top 3 players ...

You can't say Wade is the 2009 MVP without giving it to LeBron in 2008 too.
LeBron put up 30, 7 and 9 in 2008. Wade put up 30, 5 and 7 in 2009. The Heat won 47 games in 2009, while the Cavs won 45 in 2008.
LeBron carried his team just in the same way that Wade did his, but put up better stats.

Can you really even say he's the best player in the playoffs? He wasn't this year. Rondo was easily the best player through the first three rounds and then, well, I don't think you want to bring Kobe's performance in the Finals into this.
He hasn't dominated like you're trying to portray. The Lakers have been the best team, and Kobe has been ONE OF the best players. He hasn't been undeniably the best at any one point. LeBron, Wade, Durant, Howard etc. You can argue Kobe over them in some cases, but not all. Kobe's not the clear-cut #1 by any means. Each of those four guys can claim to have played better than Kobe at some point over the last few years.

No, cause CP3 did more with less and put damn impressive number himself. And Kobe carried the Lakers well before they even acquired Gasol, then meshed well enough with Gasol to become the 2nd best team in the league.
That simple.
2008 MVP is a toss up between CP3 and Bryant. They went with the team with the better record.
2006 and 2007 Kobe was easily, and clearly the league best player.

LeBron's supporting cast was atrocious in 2008. That's why the made the deal that brought in all the new players at the deadline. The fact that LeBron got 45 wins out of that team was damn impressive. Just as much as what Wade did with the Heat in 2009.
It's simple, you can't make the argument for Wade in 2009 and not for LeBron in 2008. It's almost the exact same performance.
Anyway, LeBron was better than Wade in 2009. LeBron got a team with Mo Williams and Delonte West as his #2 and #3 to 66 wins. Are they really that much better than Jermaine O'Neal or Michael Beasley?

MVP, best team record in the East and/or the League and you get booted int he 2nd round in 6 games?
Yeaaa ... :oldlol:
I def think it you can make some arguments for other people. My man always busts his nut in the regular season.
:confusedshrug:
Wade led Miami to 43 wins, put 2009 Lebron on just about any team and they're winning more than that. I can't see Wade leading that Cleveland team to a 66 win regular season where so many games were blowouts before the 4th. Not that he had a bad team, but the cast you expect a star to lead to 66 wins? No, I can't think of another player in the league who would have made that Cleveland team that good.
And Lebron was MUCH better than Wade in the 2009 playoffs.
Lebron vs the Hawks in the 2009 playoffs- 33.8 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 6 apg, 2.5 spg, 1.8 TO, 55.6 FG%, 48.1 3P%, 38 mpg
Wade vs the Hawks in the 2009 playoffs- 29.1 ppg, 5 rpg, 5.3 rpg, 1.6 bpg, 3.6 TO, 43.9 FG%, 36 3P%, 40.7 mpg
And had the series even been close, Lebron's numbers would've probably been even more ridiculous.
Lebron's numbers for 14 playoff games- 35.3 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 7.3 apg, 1.6 spg, 2.7 TO, 51 FG%, 33.3 3P%, 41.4 mpg
And I don't care if Cleveland had home court advantage, that Orlando series was not lost because of Lebron and there was not another player who could have won that series due to these factors.
1.Dwight killing Cleveland's frontline. Dwight was great that year, but I don't think anyone expected him to average 26/13/3 on 65% shooting, have 10 points in overtime in game 4 or close out the series with 40/14/4.
2.Rashard Lewis hitting 2 series changing shots, the game-winning 3 in game 1 and the 3 that tied game 4 and sent it to OT. Rashard was a problem for Cleveland all series because he's a small forward and primarily a 3 point shooter technically playing the 4, and when he put the ball on the floor, Cleveland's power forwards were eays for him to get by.
3.Where was his help offensively? His second option Mo Williams shot 37%.
Lebron didn't have a great game 6 and he had some key turnovers in game 4, but the guy was also carrying the Cavs that series, putting up near 40 point triple doubles like it was nothing and he hit a game-winner in game 2.
I can't excuse him in the 2010 series vs Boston, I still believe he quit in those last 3 games, but I don't think he has any inability to show up in the playoffs, I just don't think he cared much in those last 3 games.
LeBron's supporting cast was atrocious in 2008. That's why the made the deal that brought in all the new players at the deadline. The fact that LeBron got 45 wins out of that team was damn impressive. Just as much as what Wade did with the Heat in 2009.
Even more impressive to me from a team perspective because they were 0-7 without him that year. '09 Wade was better defensively, a better shooter(particularly mid-range) and a bit better as a scorer than 2008 Lebron, so I think '09 Wade was a better player than '09 Lebron, but '08 Lebron got more out of his team.

You could argue Wade had a better 08-09 season, and had more impact on his team.
Well, the Cavs won 66 games that year. The year before Miami won 15 games, so maybe you'll say Wade was worth 30 games to that team. If the Cavs only win 35 games this season, it's pretty equal. I'd actually say this Cavs' team is probably better than the 2009 supporting cast, considering Hickson and Jamison.

Good point. Lebron did play pretty Kobe-esque during that series. But at least he showed up big time in the final game: 14/29 from the field for 45 points.
How did Kobe play in the final game against Boston that same year? 7/22, 22 points. Ouch.
It isn't even funny how much better Lebron is than Kobe. Even Lebron's screwups aren't as bad. For instance,
"Continue my greatness" >>>>>>>>>>> raping hotel employees.
Eh, it's an arrogant statement made after a wine in which he was called 2,000 names. Arrogant is ok. It's not funny / stupid like "my sidekick" or explaining how joining Wade and Bosh was to make things harder for himself. Tis is nothing....

At least he pointed out that he didn't want to hurt anybodys feelings. Even if he's narcissistic he damn sure has realized that it's not fun to be hated by so many.. at least he didn't sound all that self-assured anymore in that interview. maybe he has learned his lesson, maybe not...
