Playing ball of course.

I don't know if this is typical. I've always healed in a week. I don't think it's broken. I can bend it. Anyone experience a jam this long?

I thought you jammed Pinky the porn star!!

Go get it checked out, might be more than a jam.

maybe you partially tore something or dislocated it.

I don't think so because I can bend it. I dislocated my other pinky before and I couldn't bend it

I remember I sprained my middle finger when I was a kid. It was swollen for weeks. It took 2 months to fully heal. Even after it healed it took forever for that "sticky joint" feeling to go away.

When I broke my pinkie, I played on it for 3 weeks before finding out it was broken; and I continued playing cause the doc said he couldn't do anything to fix it, it was too late. But I can understand the bending part. I wasn't able to bend my pinkie all the way, but it hurt like hell every time it got hit.

Now here's the thing, at the moment, my index and middle finger both hurt like hell when I shake hands with someone, accidentally hit anything, etc. I am pretty sure they are broken (it's been weeks and they're still hurting), however I can still bend my fingers properly. I haven't got it checked out, so can't say for sure, but it does not feel like a jammed finger...

Did you ice it immediately? All I know is that if you don't ice it right when it happens, it will literally be f*cked up 3x longer. Same with rolling your ankle. That being said, I have a bad habit of not icing injuries right away haha.

Just tape it to your other finger for awhile and hope for the best.

I "jammed" my finger one time years ago and it still hurts sometimes and I can't pop it or anything.

It was a jam that hurt for a long while. And I'm not sure if I did more than jam it. Jammed fingers suck so bad. I got poked in the eye one time liked straight in the eye and it was full bloodshot red for like a week, and I couldn't even open it for a while, and when I did it was all blurry and shit, but that didn't suck as bad as a regular jammed finger.

They just suck.

I hear you man, I dislocated and tore some ligaments in mine like 8 months ago. Played ball with it taped to my ring finger for a month then never ended up getting it checked out. When I first did it, whole finger went numb and I just quickly popped it back into place, never really thought much of it until I noticed how crooked it was after a few weeks.

Went to the doctor a month ago and got put in this stupid cast. Supposed to keep it on for 8 weeks and go back every week for a new cast/physio. lmao feck that, its been a month and its still crooked. So i popped off the cast and I haven't been back.

Check into the symptoms of an avulsion fracture. A lot of them happen the same way as a jammed finger and give the same symptoms but last a lot longer and if it's bad enough could need a minor surgery.

I jammed my pinky playing football way back in high school. It hurt for quite a while like yours, but I never got it checked out.

I think I might have broke or fractured it now. Hasn't hurt for a long time but it healed crooked. It's bent more out than my other one lol.

hibachi nails it .. sorry about pun

you need to heat pack it , ice it and rest it ...

probably stretched or torn a ligament.... surgery is last resort.

These types of injuries rarely heal properly due to the extensive amount of time it takes to heal. You obviously can't immobilize yourself for weeks to let the body heal itself. The only primary reason these injuries take so long is because there is very little blood flowing in those parts of the body.
