I've been saying this for a while that KG is going to beat Amare. New Yorkers don't vote in these All Star ballots. too many other things going on. Too much distraction. Many times, a smaller market will actually vote more per capita.

Yao Ming......hahahahaha.............they have to take away the vote from the people. Just let coaches decide.

Western Conference Centers....

what a DAMN SHAME!

Yao, Bynum, HAYWOOD, Marc Gasol??? LOL, Two guys who haven't played and then two guys who are playing far below expectations.

Grinder
12-16-2010, 02:34 PM
Yao and Andrew Bynum are the top 2 for centers in the West and theyve hardly played any games. :lol

kabalcage
12-16-2010, 02:40 PM
Amare should get in over KG. Tim Duncan should be moved to center, so he can start.

And why are people voting for Heat members? C'mon fans, lets shut them out of this. I want Rose/ Rondo/ Pierce/ Amare/ Dwight starting.

He'd have an easier time getting in at forward (I see he's listed there). I believe he'll pass KG

Laker fanbase doing work.. even Fish got 80k votes :oldlol:

If Yao is unavailable, would the 2nd most vote getter start? Or does the league pick the reserve?

All star game without Shaq wouldn't be the same Idc how old he is as long as his in the league he should be in that game.

Jason Kidd over Tony parker?? What the he'll is going on with you voters. Kidd shouldn't even be on the all star ballot.

How many people that are in Boston again?

The Celtics flat out owned the East including have 2 of the guys in the starting line-up so far.

come on now... Rose gotta start.:rant

I think Amare will surpass KG though.

I think Rose is losing out to Rondo because of the exposure Rondo got on the run to the Finals last year. Whilst I maintain that Rondo is the better player, Rose is probably more fun to watch in an all star game.

Hopefully Doc gets to coach and plays KG like 3 minutes :oldlol:

I think ESPN are gonna shove this down peoples throats and tell everybody to vote in Amare over KG like that did with the Tmac situation last year. People in NY are still not used to voting for their own players thats all.

The Center spot for the west should be interesting. I doubt Yao is even gonna be healthy. But i think Stern is gonna put Gasol at the Center spot and then move the to PF and then maybe add Bynum or Okafor to fill in. I mean it depends how Bynums plays from now to Febuary but i think its cool for the fans to have 3 Lakers on the All Star team since the game is gonna be in LA and to match the number of players Boston will have.

after looking through that list again, Shaq is only better than Ben Wallace and JaVale McGee :lol

12-16-2010, 03:35 PM
Who decides on the positions anyway? Tim Duncan has started every game w/ Dajuan Blair. Obviously Blair is no Center. Same with Pau Gasol w/ Odom.

Duncan and Gasol should be battling as the west's centers.

Yeah but Shaq is a legend and deserves one last all star game, he makes the all star games better, last years sucked without him, he is always putting on a show before the game and makes great plays in the game.

DeronMillsap
12-16-2010, 04:54 PM
Deron and Westbrook should only be behind Kobe in the WC guard vote count. And maybe behind Manu too, but I haven't really watched any Spurs games to see what kind of a season he's having.

All-star voting is beyond ridiculous. John Wall almost has as many votes as Westbrook and Yao Ming might get in...it's always fun to laugh at the ignorance of the all-star voting.

What I find ironic, Shaq might make ASG, and Duncan wont (he probably will be selected for the bench, but its unclear atm). As for the KG and Amare, both will make ASG, the only question who will be a starter. Same applies Rose/Rondo, as long as they are healthy, they are making ASG.

Just goes to show how flawed the system is when you've got Fisher topping Monte Ellis in overall vote count and I don't intend that as a personal knock against Fisher but just merely stating the obvious...

And after seeing the list of potential all stars grouped together what striked me the hardest is how deficient the league is right now at the center position. The separation gap of talent between now and the 90's is really & truly undeniable...

Thumdar
12-17-2010, 07:34 PM
There should be a rule that removes players who haven't played all year from receiving votes. I mean c'mon ~ the Yao votes are just ridiculous.

Thumdar
12-17-2010, 07:44 PM
I think real fans believe the all star participants should be selected 100% based on stats. Unfortunately Stern see's it all about business, which it ultimately is. So there we have it ~ those who really love the game want to see those who have earned it play and those wanting profit want it to be a popularity contest.

Okay, yeah.., I'm stating the obvious. Oh well. :ohwell:

Derka

no ryan gomes?

GoldNugg21
12-19-2010, 02:18 AM
Nene actually deserves legitimate consideration this year. That's how weak the center position is in the West. Realistically though, Pau has played center all year. Move him and Duncan (out of respect more than play) can be the west centers.

But think about this: Haywood is ranked higher at his position than Dirk is at his.

That said, this always happens, and it always works itself out. And people always over react.

12-19-2010, 03:22 AM
Ellis didnt make the list and Fisher did?

Pinkhearts
12-19-2010, 03:39 AM
Just keep voting for Yao at center people. Isn't he out for the season or something? The coaches have to pick someone to replace him, who definitely won't come from the C list. Unless you want Bynum to overtake Yao at C.

The perfect scenario will be:

Forwards: Durant, Melo, Dirk, (Love/Griffin/whoever I don't care as long as they are more deserving than any center)

Forwards (who will be playing center): Gasol, Duncan

alenleomessi
12-19-2010, 04:28 AM
If Duncan and Pau are on the Center list like they are supposed to, there will be room for Griffin and Love on the PF list

All-Star game was to put on your resume for the HOF ... now it is a waste of time even voting ...
Other than D-Wade , Kobe , Lebron and Howard ... the rest of the voting is crap...

D-Will out voted twice as many votes for CP3
Bogut with 48k votes ... Shaq w/250k
4-6 players behind Durant could wipe his a$$
Yao (need I say more)

The game is a farce ... if the NBA doesn't start getting the right players in , as well as fan fav extra activities , like honorable dunkers ... one on one matchup's .. this conversation is dead.
I would never go to a All-Star game -------> it's a farce.

Well, if he wasn't, I wouldn't know what to think anymore.
