How did he become so bad?
I remember a few years ago he dominated world football.
One game they played against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu he destroyed them so badly the real fans gave him a standing ovation

He stopped caring, got fat and only thinks about partying.

Pretty sure his knee injury came first, then he stopped caring... Am I right?
I don't think he's ever had serious injuries, much less knee injuries. I think you're talking about Ronaldo, a different brazilian phenom who did have some terrible knee injuries (although he was and is a party beast himself too).

Dinho is to football what Vince Carter is to basketball (with more credentials to his resume)
He's what Kovalev is to the NHL (but on a much grander scale)
The stars were aligned upon his conception because this guy possessed & still very much does a degree of talent that far exceeds that of his peers. What brought Ronaldinho to this point of accelerated regression is a severe lack of motivation & drive. Much like Vince, his competitive juices peaked for a modicum period of time unlike the Kobe Bryants of the world who breathe the words "personal legacy/greatness".
The talent is there but the will and ambition is simply void. I can say this with confidence because for a few games at the beginning of this campaign he marveled the Roseneiri with his God given gifts. If any of you ever get the chance, I highly recommend digging up the first game of the season where Milan spanked Lecce 4-0. As a matter of fact I take that back. It was Ronaldinho who gave them the full fledged spanking. Despite not scoring a goal It was one of the finest individual performances I have seen in a while.

Oh okay I just looked some stuff up, you're right. A few years ago a friend told me that Ronaldihno hurt his knee badly when it was Renaldo (he doesn't know dick about soccer)... So I've spent the last few years believing a lie when Ronaldihno was just out of shape :facepalm

he got old, futbol players do not get better with age. They typically don't stay elite past 30. There are a few exceptions but not typical.
But the dude never had great training habits, like another poster hit it on the head, "He is the VC of futbol" uses his ability because he is better than 99.5% of the world so he doesn't try hard at getting better.
He partied harder than he played, and that caught up to him earlier than it should have. He should still be bad ass, but his drop off was pretty much expected, just his demise from potential GOAT to Turkododo was lightning quick.

Age has nothing to do with it. He dominated football's world stage for two years, had another very good season and completely fell off the cliff (he wasn't even 27 at the time, the perfect age for a fb player).
The main problem is that he cannot perform in any kind of team concept at all. Even at his peak he was still terribly inefficient, but it was all compensated by the fact that he could not be stopped. (And because of good managing by Rijkaard) He could not be stopped at all.
Then he got fat and lost his quickness that made him unstoppable.
He would still be amazing in this shape if he had any kind of football IQ.

He lacks of motivation since 2006, after the world cup.He accomplished everything possible with 26 years old and realized that night life was better than training.
But, he has motivation now. He's coming to my team.Flamengo will give the motivation that he needs.
Anw, welcome Ronaldinho
