Jordan always got a lot of air/hangtime on his fade aways.

Can't believe I'm replying to one of your threads, but Ray Allen always seemed to get a lot of lift on his jumpers

Len Bias, Stephon Marbury.

I dunno about his actual leap off the ground, but his jump, combined with his long arms and how high he held the damn ball when he shot makes me think Bill Cartwright might be ranked pretty high
Second ugliest shot ever behind Shawn Marion

Jordan and Nique. Here's a pull-up J from Jordan at age 33:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFmMHPJZBf8&playnext=1&list=PL6C514C23408E62A3&index=7#t=1m45s
During the '93 Finals, Marv Albert mentioned that some media group or coaching staff (I forget which) had measured MJ's vertical on every jumpshot attempt that postseason, and his average vert on J's was something obscene like 29-32".
That said, Nique probably had the highest average elevation on his jumpers, because he always made a point to plant both feet and get maximum elevation. In other words, it looked like he was trying to jump as high as he could on his jumpers.

Yeah, Nate gets up really high on his jumper. Jason Terry does too.

I remember once seeing a picture of John Starks in the newspaper shooting a 3 pointer back when I was younger, and I was just amazed at how high off the floor he was.

Tracy McGrady also had an incredibly high elevation on his jumpers. Check out his 13 in 35.

Just ONCE, just ONE MOTHER****ING TIME, I'd like to see a thread on here that doesn't have a single mention of Kobe Bryant. :banghead:

In the paint it's Wilt pretty easily, not just for elevation but also extension.

The fact that guys like Nate can get off shots is incredible in itself. I know I couldn't(I'm the same height). I think he'd probably win that competition.

no way does he get 30 inches on average on each of his jumpshots. i doubt he even jumped that high to complete some of his dunks in the game.
sure he gets high, but no, thats ridiculous.
it's essentially 3/4 his maximum vert. go ask any player ever to do that and see if its actually comfortable.

No Jimmer mentions?
Also, Air Bud gets good lift on his shot.

Ben Gordon, Nique, World B Free, and Vinnie Johnson came to mind first.

For a big man, KG used to get up pretty high on his jumper, and his release point was basically behind his head, pretty impossible to block.

Kobe, Garnett, Jordan all come to mind. LOL at someone posting Bird. Dude jumped 3 inches off the ground on his jumper. No doubt it was wet, but he never got elevation.

that picture is weird, because he looks like he is just a giant standing on tiptoes at half court lol.
and the answer is jordan. but i guess we can't have that, or we have to debate it because apparently jordan can't be the best at anything off the bat. we need to dissect and analyze all possible options before relinquishing anything to jordan.

I think there was a Sports Science bit on Ray Allan, and that his release point for his jumpshot is something like 9 1/2 feet (it was a while ago since I watched it).

It aint Jordan or Kobe it's Nate, deal with the fact an annoying midget gets the most elevation on his jumper and get over your obsessions. VC used to get very high though.

kg at one time may have had the highest release point in nba history.

I don't think you idiots are understanding the question...it's not who has the highest release point or stays in the air the longest...it's who has the most elevation and the answer is Tracy McGrady.

Ben Gordon. Every shot's a perfect rainbow. Travis Outlaw should be up there, too, even though he's not as accurate as Gordon.
