[quote]His Airness donned No. 12 when his more famous jersey was stolen before a Feb. 14, 1990, game at Orlando. Sam Vincent happily allowed MJ to borrow his threads for one game. Michael Jordan wore No. 12 in this 1990 Valentine

I wonder what became of that jersey and how much it'd sell for at an auction?

That 1st picture really looks good for a 1990 picture. Makes you wonder how the old game would look shot with today's camera. (I bet less teenagers would say that the players were less athletic, or shorter when the opposite was true. Longer shorts would help a lot also.)

What I find interesting is that MJ12 is like this big and famous government thing, so it always makes me think about that. I mean, it would make sense if Jordan had another jersey with the number 23, but why in the world would he have a jersey with a number 12. Well, I'm not into conspiracies.

Edit: I just read that it was borrowed, and doesn't even have the Jordan name in the back. Never mind.

Great Post ! This is how Video Games in the 90's should have dealt with his absence , giving the player # 12 .

This picture looks like a generic classroom motivational poster where a company doesn't have a players' rights so they have to blank out the name on the back and perhaps alter the number.

I always wanted this card as a kid because it had the twelve'd Jordan:
http://images.checkoutmycards.com/zoom/f88e49d3-ad2f-4d8a-82ee-6cfd05e6e5b6.jpg

My brother and I always thought that card would be worth a ton, and I think it was about five times more expensive than a usual Sam Vincent. But that just meant it was worth 50 cents.

Of course, Wilt would be slammed for being the greatest Stat Padder of All time (on these boards at least), and Russell would be considered an Overrated version of Scottie Pippen. Probably better they played in a less cynical (although still racist) Era.

Oh, the threads Wilt's achievements ALONE would create. :oldlol:

yeah, the stolen jersey...
unfortunately, impossible to find the whole game.
the only version existing is a version in bad quality, including only 4th QT and OT.

i wish one day...

well, the first image is clearly a still photograph. old professional film cameras easily rival todays digital cameras in clarity. but I get your point with the video cameras. It would be a much different perception of bill russell, etc if we had great video footage of them.

Interesting. So he wore 12, 23, and 45.
So basically multiply the numbers by 2 and take away one. His next number would have been 89. 9 * 8 = 72. 72 equals the same number of wins the Bulls had in 96. 9 * 6 = 54 and 5 + 4 = 9, Jordan's Olympic number.

Interesting. So he wore 12, 23, and 45.

I wonder if that was on purpose? I used #14 when I played baseball, #7 for basketball, and #21 for football back when I played. I didn't actually do that on purpose, kinda funny how that played out. I did choose the numbers 7 and 21 though, but not 14. 7 since I was born on the 7th, and 21 since my favorite players in sports wore #21 (Duncan and Sosa).

Good pickup there.

Those pictures look great. I really wish there were more games from back in the 60s that were presented in clear picture and color. The only one I could find on Youtube is the last half of Game 7 of the 1969 Finals and a couple other games.

Charles Barkley also wore jersey number 32 in the 1992 NBA Season.
And Chris Webber wore number 84 for the Pistons. Times were simpler for Pistons fans back then. At the time all we were worried about was how to stop just going to the Conference Finals every single year.

And of course, Allen Iverson honored Julius Erving by rocking the #6 in the 2002 All Star Game in Philadelphia.
