Who do you choose Sloan or Williams?

No doubt who the team would choose unfortunately.

That's fine he's angry, but you can't lay all the blame on Sloan (As much as I know you'd like to Xaio) it's an entire team thing. Deron has had 17 turnovers over the past 4 games so it's not like he's completely blameless in the losses. I can understand his annoyance at the teams reluctance/refusal to trade, but they may have their reasons for that, although it's probably down to $ like normal.

I'm not for putting CJ in the starting 5 (I like him as a bench spark), and Haywood should be D-leagueing it, but they can't send him down because they don't have anyone to replace him. Hopefully Okur is a bit better after the all-star break. I'd move him to the 5 and have Jefferson off the bench. Have Williams, Bell, AK, Millsap, Okur as your starting 5.

Front office gets plenty too.

No doubt. Why it made no sense to get Jefferson when you already had Milsap and than go cheap elsewhere.

No they can't send him down unless they want to spend some money on a veteran or two to fill out the roster like they should.

Ideally you look to trade Okur and Jefferson. He's an expensive bench player amd Miles could start if he's on the bench.

Ideally, yes you would try and trade them, but we both know that's not going to happen. Jefferson still has 2 years and $29 million left, so I doubt there's a huge market for him. Okur might be tradeable next year, but they'd probably let him expire.

The reason they won't get traded is cuz they don't want to. As we saw with Rashard Lewis everyone is tradable and Jefferson certainly had others interested in him before the Jazz got him.

Yea, but the Magic had to take back Gilbert to get rid of Lewis. While it's arguable Gilbert is the better player, he has a worse contract with more years then Lewis, not to mention the previous knee and attitude issues.

But yea, you're most likely right in that they're not getting traded because they don't want to. Nothing without Sloan's approval.

I think Deron will be gone in two years. :(

Boy was I wrong! They actually made the smart move and chose Deron over Sloan. LHM has to be rolling over in his grave. Time for O'Conner to go to while you're at it.

How do you know that Deron will stay here after his contract expires?

It'll bite the Jazz FO in the ass when D-Will deserves to leave for another team.

I don't. Doubt he will unless they get him some help up front and on the wing. Sounds like they were siding with him and drove Sloan out finally.

We're all wrong. Both are now gone.

Maybe Sloan gets rehired though since Deron is no longer here.

Shudder! Don't even say it. I doubt this trade happens if Sloan stays regardless of their disagreements. Jerry can't coach without great pg's and PF's.

I know right? Great coaches only coach bad PG's and PF's.

Great coaches probably can coach anyone. Sloan has only had great PF's and PG's though. But than I don't think job security makes one great.

I personally don't think that great coaches can turn shit into diamonds.

The point was that the qualification of a great coach shouldn't be the players who he coached. Even great coaches need great players to win championships, and there are very few exceptions to that.

Sure and coaches shouldn't be considered great just because of job security either. With any other frachise in sports he's fired in the early 90's. Does he have a George Karl or Rick Adelman like career or PJ Carleisimo?
