Lets' go over under on how many Celtics players make the team.
Set the over/under at say 3.5

I honestly do not think any of the Celtics really deserve a spot. Rondo? Missed games, had a great start but hasnt played that great past month. Pierce, Allen? Are either of these guys even averaging 20 points? No. Garnett? Yea he is playing better than last year, but nothing special either. There are way more deserving players than these guys. Although it is hard to keep all of them off with the record they have. I say 3 of the 4 make it. Who gets left off? I say Allen.

Potentially, 5.
Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Garnett, and Shaq just because of his history and popularity.
I wouldn't be surprised if at least Shaq or Allen didn't make it.

I don't even care about All-Star anymore because they're totally disappointed me last year and several years ago and they won't even play serious anymore. It's all about entertainment

Is Nash not on anyone's list?
I wouldn't go as far as to put him on the team but he should definitely be considered.
He has better stats than Deron Williams in every statistical category except points and steals.
His team hasn't been doing great and he'll definitely be penalized for that but he should at least be getting some consideration.

I really want Marc Gasol to get one of the Center spots in the West since Yao has to be replaced too. He's been playing awesome lately and definitely as well as any other Center in the West. All the Grizzlies will probably get snubbed though.
Monta Ellis definitely deserves a spot this year but I don't know if he'll make it.

Lots of players are going to get shafted out West. Too many guys have had worthy seasons.

As the NBA All-Star reserves are inevitably leaked in advance of the 7 p.m. ET announcement, we'll have updates for you.
Update 6:05 p.m. EST: Kevin Garnett
Like Gasol, we found that Garnett has a page built, along with previously leaked Rajon Rondo.
Garnett will make it at least two Celtics reserves, with more on the way most likely. Garnett's been playing at a near MVP level with the impact he has on both sides of the floor. He's been his usual dominant, crazy self on defense, and his inside post moves have returned in addition to his mid-range jumper on the pick and pop. He's arguably the biggest reason the Celts have laid waste to the league this season.
No other prospective reserves have such pages built, as of yet. We'll keep you posted.
Update 6:01 p.m. EST: Pau Gasol
Someone is either running live screen tests or they jumped the gun. ********* discovered that Pau Gasol has a page built for him as an All-Star.
Gasol's a no-brainer, as he's arguably the best player on the Lakers, and that's saying something considering, you know, Kobe Bryant. Either way he's the biggest reason for the Lakers' past two championships outside Bryant, and is widely considered to be the best active big man in the game. Odds are good he might wind up replacing Yao Ming as a starter at center, despite his power forward designation.

But I'm afraid that it ain't gonna make no difference
When I rip this stage and tear it in half tonight
It's an adrenaline rush to feel the bass thump
In the place all the way to the parking lot, fellow
Set fire to the mic and ignite the crowd
You can see the sparks from hot metal
Cold-hearted from the day I Bogarted the game
I so started to rock fellow
When I'm not even in my harshest
You can still get roasted 'cause Marsh is not mellow
Til I'm toppling from the top I'm not going to stop
I'm standing on my Monopoly board
That means I'm on top of my game and it don't stop
Til my hip don't hop anymore
When you so good that you can't say it
Because it ain't even cool for you to sound cocky anymore
People just get sick cause you spit
These fools can't drool or dribble a drop anymore
And you can never break my stride
You never slow the momentum at any moment I'm about to blow
You'll never take my pride
Killing the flow, slow venom and the opponent
Is getting no mercy, mark my words
Ain't letting up, relentless
I smell blood, I don't give a ****: keep giving them hell

Whack how? The numbers he is putting up are very good. Haven't been a better rebounder since dennis rodman. Plus he is putting up great efficiency from every spot on the court.
Because he plays no defense at all it's a reason they have only 11 wins and he couldn't get off the Bench earlier this year and in past years (low mpg) and team USA.

I can't tell you how many times there have been Blazers game and it's been nothing but Barkley bashing them during half-time and post-game, if they even discuss the game at hand. I look at the Clippers game, we beat them convincingly. The whole post-game was dedicated to caressing Griffins butthole since Aldridge just made his life difficult that night. Shit's finna get thick again
They say the competition is stiff
But I get a hard dick from this shit, now stick it in
I ain't never giving in again
Caution to the wind, complete freedom
Look at these rappers, how I treat them
So why the **** would I join them when I beat them
They call me a freak because
I like to spit on these ******* fore I eat them
Man get these whack **********s off stage
Where the **** is Kanye when you need him?
Snatch the mic from him, ***** I'mma let you finish in a minute
Yeah that rap was tight
But I'm 'bout to spit the greatest verse of all time
So you might want to go back to the lab tonight and um
Scribble out them rhymes you were going to spit
And start over from scratch and write new ones
Where was you when I fell and needed help up?
You get no love

Why do so many people think that all-star votes should be based only on the first three months of the season? It's been an entire year since the last all-star game... why shouldn't that entire year be looked at?
Steve Nash had a great second half of the year last year, on a team that won 50+ games, and then he had a great playoffs, putting up 18 and 10 all the way to the conference finals. He's having another great year now, even though his team decided to save money and stop surrounding him with good teammtes.

I know Griffin is an incredible player. He puts up masterful dunks. But whatever happened to having to "earn" a spot. The Clippers have an awful record and he's a rookie. How does that get you a spot?
Fine, the TWolves are worse, but this is Love's third year and he's also doing some incredible things. The coaches made a mistake.
I think I read in the last 20 years, only ONE other rookie has been SELECTED (not voted) to an ASG. That was Tim Duncan, and that's because the Spurs were playing great that year.
Not only that but Griffin is ALREADY being highlighted during weekend....both in the Rookie Game and the Slam Dunk contest. Yet another reason he didn't need to be in the ASG this year.

Griffin deserves it based upon how much attention he receives on the offensive end, however, I wouldn't have cared if he hadn't made it. He sucks defensively, he puts zero effort on that end. Also the fact that after every play, he just looks at the ref crying for a call, it gets annoying. But based on his play on the offensive end, it was an easy call.
Love's impact on the game is minimal to what the stats say. He isn't an all-star worthy player, he just has the stats. His D is another thing to laugh at. I have a problem with players that don't try.
See Zach Randolph might suck at D, but you'll never question his effort. The dude plays all out, he gives it all offensively and defensively, which is not the case for Griffin and Love.
Also, Steve Nash should've made it, but it's hard to pinpoint for who? Obviously the easy option is Ginobili, but when you have 4 Boston Celtics on one side, it's hard to have only one Spur, and even that was a questionable call...

Honestly, the west is so stacked that there were bound to be many questionable inclusions/snubs. If it was up to me, I'd have Aldridge/Love/Randolph over Duncan in that particular order, and I'd strongly consider Aldridge over Griffin as well.

The point of this Blake Griffin is to get him over with the fans. This is a quick and necessary push to make him a household name and a bona-fide superstar.
Face it, this All-Star weekend is unofficially the Blake-Griffin weekend. He'll be featured in the Rookie game, Slamdunk (most important) and All-Star game. He's featured every single night and could be considered the headliner for all them, plus it's in LA.
The NBA did something similar with Kevin Durant where he was featured in the Rookie game and the newly formed HORSE game.
Gotta strike while the iron is hot. This is a star driven league and this move will lead into the Clippers becoming apart of the main rotation for National Broadcast night cappers. Right now, the rotation is LAL/PHX/POR; but that's looking murky considered POR's health and PHX's crappy roster. LAL/LAC should be the go to night capper and hopefully another west coast team becomes interesting.

Kevin Love should have made it, but not over Duncan, or Gasol, or Dirk.
It's Blake Griffin who should have been left off. If you are a rookie on a bad team, you should not make an All Star game unless voted in. Period.
So your argument is that Love's team has been worse for far longer and that somehow acts as seniority?

^ This dude is STILL mad that his team got Mozgov'd ;(
Definitely Griffin getting in breaks precedent because of the Clipper's record but this guy just passes the "eyeball test". His play is so masterful that you can't help but see his superiority despite the rest of his team (besides Gordon) sucking.
By conventional standards Aldridge should have gotten in so I feel for him... but he should be taking Duncan or Yao's spot, not Griffin's.
I always thought using wins to decide all-stars are ridiculous. One guy, unless he is Michael Jordan, cannot single handedly make a team great. Most of the time the "wins" yardstick does work, because you have to weed out "empty stats" guys but Griffin clearly is not one of those guys.

You must have zero concept of strategic marketing.
The All-Star game, contrary to popular belief, is not catered to regular fans such as you and I. It's a marketing ploy to attract a new demographic to the game, and spread the interest of the NBA across the continent.
Knowing that, it's not confusing at all to see why Griffin was picked over Love. Not only is this his playground, but he has generated an immeasurable amount of buzz globally through the media. People are staying up late on coffee just to watch Griffin highlights on YouTube. Whether or not you want to acknowledge this is your own problem, not the NBAs. What you see as a 'snub', the league sees as 'opportunity'. Do you honestly think the All-Star game means anything in the grand scheme of things?
Anyways. You can keep crying, but what's done is done. Deal with it now, because I'm sure you're going to forget all your complaints once Griffin is out there on the floor.

Hugeeeeeeeeee Ray Ray fan, but he's not an all-star this year. I definitely would have put Felton over him.
Happy Blake Griffin made it, and Kevin Love I'm pretty sure will be a replacement. I'd have picked Aldridge or Randolph over Duncan, but I guess Timmy's reputation proceeds him still, even for the coaches, and LA and Z-Bo would have to be putting up even more monstrous numbers to beat him out.
I'm definitely a little disappointed with the reserves this year, and I know there will be some disappointed players.

I don't agree with you on the Ray statement. He has been shooting out of this world this season. 46% from the 3 and 51% from the field. That is 5% better for both areas than his career shooting averages.
Felton has also been struggling recently, hitting a wall, i.e.

I have a few beefs with people that made it. First off let me start by saying there is no way in hell tim duncan should be an all-star this year over the likes of aldridge and kevin love or even lamar odom for that matter, yes i understand that the spurs have been great all year but that still doesnt warrant duncan making it this season. The teams should have loked like this IMO..
East:
Pierce
Rondo
KG
Allen
Horford
Josh Smith (over Bosh)
and I guess JJ deserves a spot cause i dont really see anyone that really stands out but maybe you could argue for felton.
West:
Manu
Dirk
Westbrook
Odom (over TD; tough call between LA & L.O. but my dude lamar has been more consistent in my eyes over the course of the season and has been the lakers 2nd best player this season.)
Love & Griffin (I feel like they should be attached at the hip, if you have one you have to have the other so they'd take Yao & Gasol's spots) & I'd actually give Nash a spot over D-Will but I don't have a huge beef since Deron has been snubbed for the past few years for reason's unknown to me.

Don't go by one game dude. In 3 games vs LMA Blake is +25 in rebounds, +10 in assists and +15 in points or somewhere around there last I did the math. Aldridge has been killed by Blake 2 out of 3 games. Blake still finished with like 22 and 18 last game too... so it's not like LMA did anything special. Blake was coming off 4 games in 5 nights and was clearly exhausted in last game.
Chuck Hayes is responsible for 2 subpar Griffin games so no LMA isn't the only one. Humphries 1 game and Chuck's 2 games vs Griffin were the most Griffin has ever been held in check.

Because All-Star game is for entertainment also, why leave out Nash & Shaq? Doesn't make sense, the only PG's for the Eastern are just scoring Point Guards. Honestly, it makes me sick that the only thing most fans see is scoring. Never account for hustle plays, or assists or anything other then points. Okay, is anyone as funny as Shaq or Nash in the NBA? Is anyone more entertaining then the other? Not even close. Like come on, what are there, 4 Celtics in the All-Star game? The only deserving All-Star on that team is Kevin this year. But you guys get my catch? There won't be as much entertainment this year then years before. Everything in the All-Star weekend is going down, except 3 point is staying the same basically. But really, they making stupid choices! Honestly all they need are Nash & Shaq, the All-Star game would be 10x better. Anyone agree?

But I get a hard dick from this shit, now stick it in
I ain't never giving in again
Caution to the wind, complete freedom

So why the **** would I join them when I beat them

Man get these whack **********s off stage

But I'm 'bout to spit the greatest verse of all time
So you might want to go back to the lab tonight and um
Scribble out them rhymes you were going to spit
And start over from scratch and write new ones

I'm fully expecting Duncan's camp claim he has some sort of trivial injury (sprained hand or a similarly vague statement) so that he can sit out the whole weekend and then they'll name Aldridge as his replacement. He probably doesn't want to play and Pop likely doesn't want him to risk injury before the playoffs, so count on this happening in the next week.

From NBA.com
I’ve recently read your article on how Kevin Love was snubbed from the All-Star team and what not. Of course I agree Love puts up all the numbers and deserves to be mentioned, but he doesn’t deserve an actual spot on the team! I’m actually a Timberwolves fan and follow most of their games on League Pass, and while I’d love to sit here and say Love deserves it, in actuality the man isn’t there yet. From an uneducated basketball fan’s point of view, Love looks like a monster. He’s great to have if you’re playing fantasy basketball or if you’re just one of those numbers guys! Unfortunately this is real life and Love’s impact on a game isn’t as great as his numbers. We all need to remember that numbers can be deceiving! When will someone have the gumption to write an article bashing Love’s porous defense? The man’s defense is horrible and he gives up just as many points as he scores. If you watch their games closely, you’ll notice he also gets a lot of rebounds because he doesn’t play defense or contest shots, and thus lets his teammates do this and waits to grab the rebounds. There have also been moments of him stealing rebounds away from teammates which is a pity to watch. The man does play hard every night out, I’ll give him that, but the man also plays for numbers! His lack of defense and selfish play for statistical achievements needs to be exposed! The other night his continuous streak of double-doubles was in jeopardy against the Grizzlies, and what unfolded towards the end was just a slap in the face to the game of basketball. The Wolves were getting blown out by 20 points or so deep into the game, and Rambis pulled everyone as expected but kept Love out. Love even received an elbow to the jaw which really was a good reason for him to come out in a game that was pretty much done, but he stayed out there just so his precious streak could continue. Don’t get me wrong, Kevin Love is a great player and deserves his name to be mentioned with the All-Star talk going on, he just doesn’t deserve to actually be on the team and therefore it wasn’t a snub. Please acknowledge the fact his defense needs work and that his numbers are deceiving. I appreciate your time and consideration. — Marko Jevtic.
