I get that people don't like Kobe, but to pretend like the guy is some chump as opposed to the greatest player in the game is just being ridiculous. You can dislike someone while at the same time giving credit where it's due. Kobe has 5 rings. Deal with it. Accept it. He's the greatest player of this generation. LeBron will always be Dominique to Kobe's Jordan. Stop hating blindly.

Honestly I put LeBron in a different generation then Kobe.
I see Kobe as passing the torch to him and Wade.
Kobe's generation is A.I., Vince, T-Mac, Paul Peirce, Ray Allen etc.
And over all those guys I give Kobe the nod...he has had the best career.

LeBron's generation will be Wade, Durant, Gay, Rose, Rondo, D-Will, etc.

Younger cats that didn't come into the game until the mid to late 00's.

Kobe was drafted in 1996 while LeBron was drafted in 2003. I am sure that LeBron would win an NBA Finals MVP before he turns 28 yrs.old.

Yeah Because Kobe Quit and left the Lakers right when he had Kwame Brown and Smush Parker on his team?

Yeah Because Kobe Quit and left the Lakers right when he had Kwame Brown and Smush Parker on his team?

Bryant said on 1050 ESPN Radio in New York: "I would like to be traded, yeah. Tough as it is to come to that conclusion there's no other alternative, you know?"

Bryant, interviewed by Stephen A. Smith, was asked if there was anything the Lakers could do to change his mind.

"No," Bryant said. "I just want them to do the right thing."

"[The Lakers] obviously want to move in a different direction in terms of rebuilding," Bryant said, adding he could have opted to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers or Chicago Bulls instead. "Three years ago when I was re-signing they should have told me they wanted to rebuild."

Asked if he had any preference for a trade destination, he said "At this point I'll go play on Pluto."

You Kobe homers have a short memory. Lebron played out his contract w/out ever asking to be traded.

Lebron23

he doesnt have to. thats the point of free agency. you are under contract by no one at that point in time. players are far more faithful than their organizations. i mean look what happened to patrick ewing and hakeem for all their hard work. got traded at the end of their careers.

If Nash was on Lakers they would win championships too.He is 2 time mvp.He has great shooting skills, incredible playmaking and passing skills. He has much bigger offensive impact than his stats showing.I don't believe Kobe can do better on Suns. Yeah, Kobe is better all around player and Lebron too.But it doesn't mean Kobe did everything by himself and Nash couldn't. Kobe is one of the best and luckiest players. First he had Shaq (God-mode in 2000s) and now Gasol and of course Phil Jackson. Both Nash and Lebron didn't have such supporting cast.Once Jordan had a team (Pippen&Jackson) rings came automatically. No surprise to have 5 rings. It's a team game.

What was the ref doing? Giving his whistle a blowjob. :facepalm
I fault kobe though, he should had known that breathing on Wade would result in refs performing oral sex on their whistles.

Lebron played out his contract w/out ever asking to be traded.he did promised a championship though...

The NBA is about 7 footers and that is basically it. I think guards get way to much hype in this era. The Lakers are successful because of their length, size and ability to rebound. They were never successful without quality big men and they played like any other team in the league. It was Kobe doing every thing he could and putting his team on his back but coming up short. Not all teams are afforded the luxury of Pau Gasol and Shaq.

Dumb post considering Shaq hasn't won anything without superstar shooting guards

All that matters is who got the rings........

I wonder how many of these "Win a ring!" types remember when people said the same shit about Jordan compared to Bird and Magic(and Isiah really). And I suspect the same was said of Wilt compared to all number of people(Russell, Bob, and Mikan at least). And then they win...and people act like they were better than some or all of the others all along. Kids who dont even remember 87 acting like Jordan was considered better than Magic and Bird then using the fact he got 6 rings years later to back it up. At the time I remember most saying Bird was better...but Jordan wins a grip of rings and in retrospect...is so much better..

If Jordan was better than Bird and Magic he was better by no later than 1989. If Wilt was better than Petitt, Mikan, and russell he probably was by like...1960. Shit Shaq was hated on for being ringless...wins 3 while not really being better than he was right before winning them...people are asking if hes as good as Jordan.

If Lebron is better than Kobe(and he probably has been for several years) and he wins 5 rings...or never does win one...its not going to change the last few years. Though if he does win people will act as if it does. Kobe wasnt even arguably the best player on a title team till he was 30-31 or so. But people have been talking the same shit since Lebron was like...21-22?

People who cant make a basketball argument have been using the "Well...where are the rings?" argument against guys clearly better than people with rings forever. And no matter how many times a Wilt clearly surpasses a Mikan and does it before rings, or a Jordan passes an Isiah or Dr.J and does it before rings, or a Shaq becomes better than 99% of people who ever played...before rings...people keep acting like they cant see it till its in retrospect.

People hated when Shaq was named top 50 all time after like 4 years. As if 96 or 97 Shaq wasnt top 15-20 as an actual player. And the same shit happens now. Lebron was one of the greatest of all time by his second season. And the last few have pretty much been his Jordan from 87-90 period. Or Wilt before Philly. Or Shaq before 2000. Even if he never wins(which I doubt) hes been better than Kobe at least some of the last 5 years.

Playoffs and regular seasons. Not every season. But he was at least as good as Kobe way back in 2005. At 19 or 20. With Kobe like...2 years older than Lebron is now? Depending on the year you could argue one or the other the last 5 years.

Kobes rings sure as hell dont change that fact any more than _____ having rings changed it for Jordan, Wilt, Shaq, and the many others who surpassed those with rings years before winning them(sometimes never winning them).

Though for the record...Kobe saying it...im ok with. Its trash talk between people who are rivals and probably to an extent friends. Teammates in the olympics and all. When you have something like that over a friendly rival...you throw it in his face. Doesnt have to make sense from a logical standpoint. Its friendly taunting. Who doesnt do it after a win?

But some of the people who say it in places like this...I think they believe it makes sense. And that...I have trouble understanding. As jokes between rival fans...I get it. Fans dont really have to make sense. Just a laugh.

But some of these people seem to really believe it.

I bet you it really means more to the fans "trash talking wise" then the players.
Like Bosh says in the interview there is nothing they could say right now to that. Kobe had to pull it out cause the Lakers decided to not show up again and got spanked. And these guys are all in a friendly rivalry now....I don't like that. I liked it when they didn't really know each other to well and wanted to compete like early Bird and Magic. Oh well.
