Yeah, that's basically my thinking process too when I get like that. I feel like they need to grow up or change their childhood/youth lifestyle. It's like they're still attached to video games, beer, weed and just teenage bullshit. As soon as you accept that you have disorder x it becomes part of your identity, part of how you define yourself. everybody feels sad sometimes, as soon as you are diagnosed "depressed" and accept that you are a person who suffers from depression it becomes part of how you see yourself and therefor self-fulfilling. this life is actually incredibly lucid and you have amazing control over your psychological well-being. don't let someone else's prognosis become a crutch for you, most of it is cyclical, situational, or out right bull shit. I'm not suggesting people who've been professionally diagnosed bi-polar should stop taking their meds, but for those of you talking about anxiety, ADD, depression, OCD, social anxiety, inferiority complex, etc- just check yourself. does your "disorder" give you an excuse to live a certain way, are you wearing it like a badge? you're stronger than that, don't get boxed in to accepting that you have a "disease", you're in control here my man. really real talk.

medicine treatment is such a b*tch for some of your biochemical shortcomings. doc assured adderall would help my situation, and it has helped with focusing/concentrating/impulsiveness/carelessness etc. but it had its tradeoffs. constant moodswings, thigns that normally wouldn't irritate me, irritate the sh!t out of me. i've managed to coach myself from not lashing out at people or doing something violent but i don't know how long i'll keep that up. and normal tortilla chips with salt will make my blood pressure go trhough the roof. i avoid high sodium foods but a handful of chips will make my face ready to explode from the the feeling.

for those of you on here who think you have some form of mental illness, let me just throw this out there- with all due respect to modern psychology and medicine- it becomes comforting for people to categorize themself by symptom, to label themselves with disorder x because it explains certain things about themselves and let's them "know" they aren't alone. As soon as you accept that you have disorder x it becomes part of your identity, part of how you define yourself. everybody feels sad sometimes, as soon as you are diagnosed "depressed" and accept that you are a person who suffers from depression it becomes part of how you see yourself and therefor self-fulfilling. this life is actually incredibly lucid and you have amazing control over your psychological well-being. don't let someone else's prognosis become a crutch for you, most of it is cyclical, situational, or out right bull shit. I'm not suggesting people who've been professionally diagnosed bi-polar should stop taking their meds, but for those of you talking about anxiety, ADD, depression, OCD, social anxiety, inferiority complex, etc- just check yourself. does your "disorder" give you an excuse to live a certain way, are you wearing it like a badge? you're stronger than that, don't get boxed in to accepting that you have a "disease", you're in control here my man. really real talk.

In the past we had Christianism, and as it has been abandoned, couples divorce, families are destroyed and produce troubled unable to contribute to society individuals. You didnt need a psy or anti depressants, all you needed was faith,family, love, hope, confidence that were provided by stables families. Nowadays father abandon kids who become mentally troubled being raised by single moms who feminize them and these kids have confidence, self esteem problems due to not having been loved by their own fathers who spawned them but ignored them.

Remove faith, and you need all these bullshits addictions and drugs.

Good post. I think these disorders are real, but also they are easily overcome if you just want to work on them. Too often I see people who are 'happy being lone wolfs' or 'happy being alone because no one understands me', theyre just lying to themselves and hiding behind the crutch of the thing theyve been diagnosed as an excuse to not work on and improve their well being. For example, do you think pete's montreux is happy living at his moms house and having to pay women for sex and having no meaningful relationships rather male of female? Of course not, but its easier to drift at the bottom than it is to try to swim higher to reach the top. All you have to do is try, and work on your issues and you problems would be improved on, instead people seem happy living a life with problems and not being the person they truly want to be.

For example, humans are social animals. Everyone who is 'a loner and content' isn't really content. Thats just a lie they try to convince themselves and everyone else so that they dont feel like low self esteem pariahs.

I used to worry and panic over small things. It wasn't these huge overt panic attacks, it was more just general moodiness and aggravation if a situation was not totally in my control. My wife told me that i'm unhappy and i need to go to therapy or something to fix it. And i did. Therapy is the shit if you can get a good person.

I'm much more calm although it comes out at times. You can see it when i psot sometimes, ill get locked in an argument because I AM RIGHT AND I MUST SHOW YOU OR I CANNOT STOP!!! Eventually i need to turn off.
