the knicks need to in order to complete the melo deal. Otherwise they would be to far over the cap.
Minny will need to ggive up someone to take both randolph and curry. Most likely will be brewer. Wondering if he will be headed to knicks or nuggets.

Sham Sports said it's Brewer to Denver.
Apparently it's Corey Brewer that Minnesota is sending to Denver to complete the deal. Denver is still under the tax, even with him.
I guess the tax reason is why Denver didn't want to take back Eddy Curry.

Who knows:lol I'm guessing Randolph will see his minutes spread out from the 3-5 positions. It's going to be fun as hell to watch the Wolves now when we go small ball with Beasley at the 3, Randolph at the 4 and Love at the 5.

If you're only giving up Brewer, it's a great deal for the T'Wolves. Brewer is up for a contract, you know he's most likely not going to get much better and with Webster and Johnson there, he's not a needed piece. I know Randolph isn't needed either, but he's got potential (more then Brewer) and if he shows something then they can keep him or move him again for someone else.

If Kahn made this trade possible for the Knicks AND gave up a first...
proves how much they wanted randolph. Essentially they trade brewer and a first for randolph.
Curry becomes an asset for them. They may be able to flip curry before the deadline to a team looking to save cap space. Otherwise they buy him out and since his salry is almost fully paid for, it wont cost much.

And Curry is not an asset, there's tons of expiring contracts that can actually play and trade exceptions which is 100% cap savings immediately.

Well, if the Knicks get Brewer AND a first round pick, then that's a really good deal.
Anthony Randolph has the potential, but let's face it, D'Antoni wasn't going to play him, the Knicks organization didn't seem to like him that much, so getting Corey Brewer is a good deal, he seems like somebody who Mike D'Antoni would play too lol. strong side-energy, runs, pesky defender
weakside- sucks with the ball, sucks at shooting, sucks at being strong, sucks at basketball
pesky, alright defender. not a lockdown or anything
he can drive...but the result will either be a turnover, bricked lay up or dunk
horrible shot. thought of that coming into the league and it hasnt improved at all. dont sit behind the basket because some do go off the side of the backboard and could be the equivalent to flying pucks at a hockey game

Enter the trade into the trade machine with just the players between the knicks and nuggets and the salaries do not match.
The Knicks need the trade exception so they can get the trade with the nuggets done.
Based on sheridens info, maybe the Knicks are doing the minnesota trade first. So they receive brewer and the trade exception.
This would allow them to take on the nugget part of the deal.

Exactly my thought. They send Curry and Randolph to the T'Wolves to get Brewer and a TPE worth roughly $ 9.500.000,-. Then, they do the trade with Nuggets, which requires the TPE to be used in order to match the salaries.

Now, every bad contracts Thomas gave when he was the boss are gone from the New York... it's time to bring him back to destroy the team again

YAY 42 Million for two players who have only played 80% of their scheduled games in their 7+ year careers
I finally came onto ISH after the trade, and I have to say that out of all of David Kahn's transactions, this one upset me the most. Essentially, it was Corey Brewer, Kosta Koufos, and $2.1 million dollars for Anthony Randolph and a 2015 DEN 2nd round pick. Corey's the only player on the Wolves who played real defense the whole game through. Anthony Randolph has tons of potential apparently, but I don't see him ever reaching a level above Brewer. I just don't see it.

Does Corey mainly play SG or SF?

Corey Brewer would have to be one of the worst offensive players in the league.
Here's a guy who could dribble the ball off his foot any second, miss a dunk/layup, throw up an airball or pass it to the other team.
He hustles....that's about it. To make matters worse when he hustles, he gambles a lot.
Anthony Randolph on the other hand is an extremely skilled player. Close to 7 foot has great handles for a big man, rebounds well above weight, has some slick moves. Can turn the ball over and has a questionable shot.
The thing I don't get is how a player can regress to not even give him a look in.
had 25 starts as a rookie in 25mpg average 10pts/8.5rebs/1stl/1blk

Keep in mind AR is still only 21 years old. Younger than a lot of rooks.

I think you forgot to mention that he looks lost on the basketball court and that he puts up some of the worst shots he could possibly find. Therefore he has a horrible shooting percentage and not to mention he isn't particularly good at holding on to the ball.

NBA teams want to win not develop talent?
Randolph went to the right team, in that aspect, Wolves right now are all about getting young cheap players, and give them a chance.
And to the people saying Randolph is garbage, just look how absolutely terrible and lost Mozgov looked like in the first minutes against Detroit, after been benched for so many time, then he got a couple of easy baskets, settled down and went for 23\14.

i like brewer btw he can be melos sub and he can probably play some shut down SG maybe even be good help defense vs a point guard. The defense is what brewer is all about. He plays defense so well that be bothers players. Them long arms are good at poking the ball. NY got away with a good player. BTW DEFENSE leads to offense. if he scores off steals them are points that +4

Anyone know if Ant Rand is playin tonight?

He's active for the game, but his minutes will depend on the game. I doubt he'll play more than 5 minutes.

Kurt Rambis already hates him. AR will be lucky to see consistent minutes in Minny:facepalm

Kurt doesn't hate him, he's the reason Kahn got Randolph.
However, the trade made no sense. Why would we (the Wolves) acquire Randolph for Brewer? He'll clearly get no more than 10 minutes per game considering there's Kevin Love, Michael Beasley, Anthony Tolliver, Darko Milicic, Nikola Pekovic, Wes Johnson, and Martell Webster already playing positions that Randolph plays.
