Good trade for both sides: got a future swing man for Wall, and a good mentor in Bibby.

Atlanta got Kirk who was an upgrade.

Awesome news for Hinrich. He gets to play for a playoff team. He was doing good when Wall was injured.

Atlanta needed this pickup. If they can get a Center than can play D they should get exponentially better.

I was actually playing with ESPN trade machine to see how the Jazz can get Hinrich just 3 minutes ago. :oldlol:

would you move jamal into the starting lineup over hinrich?

No they need a distributor, plus Kirk plays GREAT defense. Atlanta could now be a nightmare matchup for some of the upper seeds in the playoffs.

Time to watch the Hawks now.

Hawks got some youth and size with Hinrich and Armstrong. Hinrich is a younger, more rounded version of Bibby. I don't think either of them are your prototypical PGs, but I think Hinrich is capable of playing SG, while Bibby isn't. It is too bad that the Hawks had to throw in Jordan Crawford in the deal. I think he is going to be a solid player in this league.

the hawks are still flawed, because josh smith is allowed to throw half court alleyoops.

For 3 years at the deadline he's been rumored to go to LA, you'd figure it would have to happen sooner or later at this point.:oldlol:

I forgot Jordan Crawford was on the Hawks. At first I thought you were referencing Jamal Crawford, and I was like :wtf:

Still don't see the point of this trade. One over-the-hill PG for another, essentially. :confusedshrug:

Mike Bibby has a lower salary figure and the Wizards get an additional pick.

Due to what made the Washington Capitals a success, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis believe you build through the draft in any sport. Don't be shocked if you hear about Andray Blatche also getting moved for draft picks.

Hinrich still got it. Been pushing the Lakers to get him for awhile now. Too bad it didn't happen. :(

Hinrich is better offensively and MUCH better defensively than Bibby. I like this trade hopefully this allows us to hold on to Crawford.

good trade for Hawks. i don't know much about Wizards. but if they get a good draft pick, it'd even out i guess. if they get a bust, ppl would criticize this deal.

This is a good trade really for next year.
Bibby is slowing down, and next year he'll be a backup. And Teague is not ready to start.
Hinrich is still in his prime, so he would be an upgrade next season.

I still wish the Hawks had somehow kept Bibby as a backup for Hinrich next season, and found a way to move Marvin Williams to clear out a spot for Hinrich (maybe a third team - Cleveland was interested in the summer).

Hinrich starts now, and he is an upgrade defensively. Then Jamal gets run, and then Teague.

Damian Wilkens now gets more run with Evans gone.

Can Hilton Armstrong prove to be a solid defensive presence for 8-10 minutes per night? He is still young, and the Hawks need a big off the bench who is better than Jason Collins.

Bibby now backs up Wall, unless he is bought out and then takes his talents down to South Beach, who could use his ballhandling, passing and shooting at the point guard position. He would get so many open looks, and while he is slower now, if he is wide open, he is still a clutch shooter. He certainly is an upgrade over Chalmers.

We will have a winning record, so the pick won't be that low. But if a team drafts well, they can always find talent, wherever they pick.

Atlanta needed the upgrade at PG, because Bibby has really slowed down.
Wizards didn't need Kirk, because they have Walll. It's a good trade for both teams.

However, getting a starting center should have been more important to the Hawks than upgrading at PG...

Does Marvin Williams for Chris Kaman make too much sense for both those teams?

Clippers trying to get rid of Kaman, and desperately need a starting caliber SF.
Hawks want to get rid of Marwin, and they really want a starting center to move Al to PF...

I really don't understand why these 2 teams don't go for it...

:oldlol: Wall doesnt need Bibby at all.

I'm also glad its Jordon and not Jamal. The other thread was confusing. But the OP probably intentionally made it that way.

I like the deal for Atlanta if Kirk is healthy.

Steal for the Hawks. Hinrich plays D, something no one at the 1 or 2 does on the Hawks. He is a vet, will play steady, and will improve this team. Great great deal for the Hawks. Bibby is just about done and those other guys are not contributing players. Hawks also get another big in the deal, that never hurts.

Hinrich will help come playoff time. He will compliment Joe Johnson well and he will improve the others.

Hawks should trade Marvin Williams + Zaza for Chris Kaman.

That would let them move Horford permanently to PF:

5 - Kaman/Collins/Thomas
4 - Horford/Armstrong/Powell
3 - Smith/Wilkins/Sy
2 - Johnson/Crawford
1 - Hinrich/Teague

Sounds like a great move, but don't know if the salaries match. We would need to send out another contract to go with Marvin, since we are near the luxury tax. Don't know if we have that, now that Mo Evans is gone.

You're crazy... Bibby is the worst defender at his position.

Hinrich is a great defender, who can guard PG SG and SF. Not as great of an outside shooter, but at least Joe Johnson won't be so tired chasing around point guards all game that he'll probably shoot better.

Good trade for both teams

That's all it is man. It makes sense for both teams. Simple as that. As a Wiz fan I love the trade because we got Hinrich and a 1st for nothing, and then turned around and turned Hinrich into another 1st and a decent prospect in Crawford.

You gotta look at where each team is at in the scheme of things.

Goddamn some people are retarded.

Anyway, word around town is that Bibby is bitter and wants a buyout. Wizards told him ok, but you have to eat a big part of what's left on your deal this year (4 mil I think?) and the entire 6 mil you're due next year. He'll be suiting up for the Wiz on Friday.

Except Kaman has a history of injuries, and the Hawks would lose two guys, who for the most part of their careers, have been fairly healthy.

Kaman is talented, but unreliable healthwise.

Hinrich has actually played pretty well for the Wizards this year. Their best stretch of basketball this season was right after the Gil trade when Hinrich was starting at the point.

Looking at guards the Hawks have added in recent years they have played some of the best ball of their careers. Jamal, Bibby and Flip Murray all played very well next to JJ. I expect the same with Hinrich.

Good deal for both teams.

Looks like Bibby will be taking his talents down to South Beach.
He'll get tons of open looks, and he can nail those. Still one of the best shooters of open jump shots at the point guard position (although his speed limits his ability to create his own shots).

Hinrich is a solid pickup for Atlanta. They now have a player for each position that is capable of individually shutting down each of the team's other 5 positions. I would like to see them try this lineup and move Al and Josh back to their natural positions.

PG: Hinrich/Teague
SG: Johnson/Crawford
SF: Smith/Williams
PF: Horford/Powell
C: Pachulia/Armstrong

Bibby gave up 6 million next year to get off the wizards. I suddenly feel embarrassed for that team.

You make yourself worse at C and negligibly better, at best, at SF and PF. Making Josh Smith into Marvin Williams is basically all you are doing. He is NOT a SF, despite how much ATL might like to get bigger up front. He can't handle or shoot worth a lick. His value is his defense at the 4 and the athleticism edge he has on 4s. He has no way to use a slight size edge as an advantage over SFs. Horford has become a very good C. They need to find a top level backup C to use as the 3rd man in their rotation. Pachulia and Armstrong SUCK. They messed up badly by not getting Gortat. They should have offered Crawford for Pietrus and Gortat or something.

I think they should trade Marvin for a center and then Josh should be a 6th man
