Ok so WTF? Baron passed his outgoing physical... and just failed his physical in Cleveland. WTF happens now? Is Cleveland going to go through with it? I hear they are doing this to try and milk us for another pick. I'd tell them to fu** off.

Cleveland is trying to get us for more. Reason I know this is.... they knew Baron had a sore knee and some issues... but said it was worth it for the pick. Now suddenly they won't sign off on the trade? They are demanding more picks is what they sneaky sons of ******* are doing. Be a man about it Cleveland GM.

I'm not sure why Cleveland would want to reverse this if they have the choice. They don't care if Davis plays or not. They namely just wanted the draft pick.

They can't ask for another pick till after the season though. The trade went into the office as Baron+pick for moon+mo. too late for something else past the deadline otherwise the Hornets would have tried to send the Thunder something else a few years back with Tyson.

If that was the case.. they would of signed off right away like we did. Mo is injured too and we didn't submit him to MRI's and all kinds of different physicals. If Cleveland REALLY wants this pick they will sign off on the trade tonight and STFU.

Davis found out he was being traded to Cleveland and went out and injured himself on purpose so he wouldn't be on suicide watch.

No need to be an ass about it. It's a rumor... but based on the fact that Cleveland has yet to sign off on the trade today despite Baron arriving yesterday night.. it's logical. I think it was off of one of the Clippers reporters twitter or something. It was posted on the Clippers forum I moderate on.

It's an inside source rumor. I'm almost positive it's true. Especially based on the fact that Cleveland HAS YET TO SIGN OFF ON THE TRADE AFTER 4 DAYS. 2 DAYS SINCE BARON ARRIVED. Clippers signed off first day.

Whether Davis plays or not is completely beside the point. We didn't make the trade for Davis... I don't see this thing getting reversed under any circumstances. It is more a statement of just how unprofessional BD is. It is past the midway point in the season and this guy isn't in shape enough to pass a very basic physical? Disgusting.

Are the Cleveland guys really this stingy about analyzing physicals and MRI's? Cavs knew they were getting a banged up Davis just like we are with Mo Williams. Yet one team signed off the first day.. and the other is still waiting. Tomorrow I'm sure they will do it before 5 PM deadline.. but Mo and Moon could of been practicing last 3-4 days and played this back to back we just finished up tonight. Instead we lose 2 games to the elite teams that were winnable had we had those 2 guys. Bledsoe isn't a capable starter right now..

I can't really speculate too much. Aren't there league rules about physicals and MRIs (if there are legitimate injuries) being done prior to any trade officially going in the books? Could the Cavs simply override the MRI and say, "we don't care"? I think this may actually be a league mandate, not a Cavaliers' mandate.

Lisa Dillman of the L.A. Times has told Rotoworld that Baron Davis is expected to fail his physical for Cleveland, if he hasn't already, due to his gimpy and swollen right knee.
If he doesn't pass, it's possible the Cavs could ask for more in return, but the deal, which has Mo Williams and Jamario Moon joining the Clippers, and a first-round pick going to Cleveland, is still expected to go through, as far as we know. Baron's immediate future is clearly in doubt for the Cavs and Ramon Sessions should be held onto until we see how this plays out.

Probably the pick LOL. I mean... BD's had recent MRI's for us on the knee.. and it was nothing but a sore knee/swelling. He's a 31 almost 32 year old logging 35-40 minutes a game recently. I can understand if Cavs didn't know he had an issue and he showed up with one.. but they knew he was injured. Just like we knew Mo was lol.

In fairness, BD's conditioning issues are well-documented. While Mo has had some injury problems, it was never due to a lack of motivation. I don't know if BD's health is the real issue here, but I also don't really know what kind of shape Baron is currently in. He may have shown up in Cleveland looking like JaMarcus Russell.

Haha.. like some around here said.. he may be 400 pounds by the time he gets to Cleveland. Seriously.. I think I'm more irritated because our guys are being forced to play 40+ minutes.. and guys like Blake, Foye and Gomes are getting burned out. Missing 3 guys that will be .. or already are rotational players hurts. Not to mention Bledsoe is a turnover machine rookie.. and we are depending on him to start vs teams like Celtis and the Lakers with another unproven rookie in Willie Warren backing him up. LOL... Good thinking outside of the box. Maybe this is the case. I did hear rumblings that they may buy him out so Sessions can be the PG for them long term. I think Baron can help them though. They can put Sessions or Baron at SG and run those 2 together for a nice punch.

You also have to remember, though, that BD and Byron Scott have a history... And not a good history. So, maybe when Baron decided against the buyout, Byron made it clear to the FO that he didn't want to coach BD? I hope to god this isn't the case, but it is a thought.

OR, if you really want to think outside the box, try this one on for size...
The Cavs are getting the Clippers' first-round draft pick, so the longer they can procrastinate on this MRI/physical thing, the longer the Clippers will have to play shorthanded and the more losses the Clippers may rack up, giving the Cavs a better shot at a higher pick.
I think I just broke the case.

Yup on Clippers Topbuzz we talked about this too. That would be so shady.. to cost us 2-3 games over that. I don't want to imagine a franchise doing this to another one unless they had bad blood... it's flat out dirty and a dick move.

Byron said he was almost brought to tears by a Baron apology and they have a great friendship since last year. So I doubt they are having issues like that right now.

Love when someone disagrees without explain why. Good use of posting on a forum. Baron is the ultimate creator... Ramon is a PG that can score in bunches... Why wouldn't they work well together? You honestly think both of them aren't better than Anthony Parker in the starting 5?

A fat, burnt out point guard who's been irrelevant for years along with a point guard who's never scored more than 12 points per game for a season and who doesn't shoot better from 3 than Rajon Rondo is not a "nice punch".

Hmmm.. how about you look at what both players are averaging the last 10 games or so? The last 10 games Baron is arguably the best PG in the game.. as he put up 21 ppg, 9 apg, 4 rpg, 3 spg on efficient shooting in that 10 game stretch. Ramon also has been doing a very good job the last few games. Reality is... Cleveland has very little talent to work with right now.. and if you think Baron already isn't the best.. or 2nd best player on the Cavs you're in denial. After JJ.. I can't think of anyone else close to as good as Baron on the Cavs.
If your main issue is with Sessions.... he's been playing good ball recently as I said. I just expressed my opinion that I think they would make a good combo. It has yet to be seen.. so we will find out soon enough. I'd start Baron/Sessions over Sessions/Parker or Baron/Parker though for sure.. or Christian Eyenga.. or whoever the Cavs are starting at the 2 right now.

Has nothing to do with disregarding. Both have stepped up their level of play... over the last month or so in Baron's case 2 months... so why is what they did last year or the year before significant? It's faulty to judge a player like Sessions on this.. considering he's been a backup his entire career and is now a starter finally. Why would you judge him based on his limited minutes as a backup.. rather than his starter production which is current?
Baron's been a top notch PG most of this season.. though statistically it wouldn't show that. He's been a very good PG since he returned from injury in December.

Can't speak for Baron at this stage in his career, but Ramon has looked fantastic as of late. He seems to be really getting Scott's offense and he has outplayed many supposedly 'better' PGs in recent weeks. He is also only 24... Not like his first three seasons are an absolute indicator of the caliber player that he will remain for his career.
Over the last month, he is averaging...
20 points, 8.7 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 58% from the field
That is over a 10-game stretch, too... Not just a couple of lucky nights. I don't think people realize how well this guy has been playing. I see a potential piece, here.

Thanks for the Sessions side of my point. I didn't have his raw numbers. Baron is at around 21 ppg, 9 apg, 4 rpg, 3 spg and 48 percent shooting the last month. For a 6 game stretch recently on this road trip he was at an insane... 22 ppg, 10.5 apg, 5.5 rpg, 3 spg on 50 percent shooting or so.
Poster above is obviously stuck on the last time he saw these players play and their progress this season which was a couple years ago most likely.

Fair enough that's pretty good, I just remember seeing him play well for a stretch before falling off again earlier, so I have to see him put it together for a complete season.
But Baron is Baron...

Love when someone disagrees without explain why. Good use of posting on a forum. Baron is the ultimate creator... Ramon is a PG that can score in bunches... Why wouldn't they work well together? You honestly think both of them aren't better than Anthony Parker in the starting 5?
they wouldnt work because neither can shoot the three, and both need the ball in their hands, anthony parker is a better player than you are giving him credit for, hes a very good three point shooter, can hit mid range shots off of the dribble when needed and is a decent defender

Gilbert offered him a buyout if he wanted it. Apparently, he chose to play in Cleveland.
So, there's that...
Translation, Gilbert offered to pay him way less than what it's on contract...

Buyouts are always less, but Gilbert has always been pretty fair on them in the past. I'm not sure what he offered Baron, but prior to the Rip Hamilton deal falling apart, he had offered to buy Rip out of his contract for $18 million. Rip was owed $24 million over the next two years and it is uncertain how things will go with the whole CBA thing next year, meaning a paycheck might not be coming. Plus, Rip would have gotten the money from whichever team that he signed a contract with after the buyout.
I would imagine that he offered Baron a similar deal. Not exactly an awful situation.
I wonder if he intentionally failed the physical to stick it to the Clippers in hopes the trade gets denied? I just dont see how guys fail physicals yet they play in NBA games. Not like Baron sits at the end of the bench.
