It's true Lebron has worse stats(which is still better than Rose's) than last year, but it is only because he's playing with Wade and Bosh. Passing Lebron to give the mvp to Rose is ridiculous. Plus Bulls improved not only because of him.

No. They're just Rose homers. So when you make a case against Rose, you're going to get attacked.
Plus, there are several threads on this already, hence the juvenile response you're getting from the imbeciles.

It's just simply not true. The Bulls' defense and balanced scoring threat from nearly each position is carrying them. Derrick Rose is a part of that but he is not the part.

Derrick Rose is clutch. He has the numbers, the record( with a pretty injured team for most of the season). He brought down Lebron and the Heat not to recently after being down big. I am pretty sure that sounds like an MVP to me.

What do you expect when you make the umteenth same thread???
And no, they aren't Rose homers. Just fans of a player who seems to have about 100 threads about him and how he isn't this or that, is overrated, not a star. It gets tiring. If most of you guys were here back even in 2006 (I know most of you all weren't) this is like the Kobe bashing threads of then.
Rose now has reached that Kobe/LBJ hate.

Rose hasn't reached that level of hate. He's reached that level of homerism which is why you have his "detractors"(people telling it like it is that are logical are considered haters) and the funny part is he's not even nearly as good as Kobe was or LBJ is.
And guess what? He won't ever be. This year or next is his peak.

How exactly are his stats better than Rose's?
Rose averages 1 less point, more assists, less turnovers, better 3 pt%, much better FT%, tied in blocks, tied in offensive rebounds as a PG... All on less minutes than Lebron. What stats are you talking about? :confusedshrug:
That aside, Lebron is still the better player as of now but D. Rose is continuing to get better, you can't deny that. They're both very valuable but I'd want Rose on my team, at least I won't have to worry about him quitting.

This.
I feel where he is coming from, but the simple fact is this: The MVP award is not, nor has it ever been 'The Best Player in the League" award. It is named for exactly what it is. The most VALUABLE player, meaning who has the most value to his respective team.
Rose is more valuable to the Bulls, than lebron is to the Heat. This year anyway.
That isn't homerism, that's fact.
Is lebron one of the best players in the league? Aside from a few flaws, absolutely. So is Rose. This is also fact.
Neither has anything to do with stats.
MVP's show up in crucial moments in crucial games. Rose has done that, lebron hasn't.
And to point this out AGAIN: Against Dallas, Boston, & Chicago, Miami is 0-7, 0 for ****ing 7. Against the Heat, Dallas and Boston, the Bulls are 5-2, 5 and ****ing 2!, including 2-0 against both Dallas and Miami, taking the season series from both teams.
This reason is mainly on the fact that the Bulls had Derrick Rose, in mostly all of those games, the Bulls didn't have a full team.

To his respective team? Where did you ever read that? When has the NBA ever officially outlined the criteria for winning MVP? That's part of the problem. You're interpreting it the way you want to and setting whatever criteria fits your need/agenda. And the media as a whole does the exact same thing. They use whatever criteria they want, which leads to them giving it out to players that don't deserve it, period. Steve Nash the most valuable player in the entire league? LOL. Shaq with 1 MVP over his entire career? LOL.
And by using your logic, let's rewind back to 1999-2000. This would be like Kevin Garnett winning MVP that year because he was on the Timberwolves by himself and Shaq had Kobe on the Lakers. So despite Shaq being a far, far superior player at the time, he shouldn't have won it because he had more help. Kevin Garnett did it alone! So he's more valuable! Makes perfect sense. Only, it doesn't.
And Dwight is more valuable to the Magic than Rose is to the Bulls, so the argument that people fall back on is that the Bulls have a better record. Well, that's true, but again, we're just adding criteria as we go because none is specified.
To me... the most unbiased, trying to be objective about it viewpoint on the MVP award is this... if all rosters were to start from scratch, ignoring past performances and not taking into account future performances or career longevity, what one player would you take to build a team around with the goal of winning as many games as possible for that one current year, and that one current year only?
That's the most valuable player. If he's going to help you build a winning roster more so than any other player in the league for that one year, he's the league's MVP. Period. And it's not Derrick Rose. It's LeBron James. He has a bigger impact on the W/L column than any other player in the league, and it doesn't matter what team he's on. Second place is Dwight Howard, and I'm not even going to bother trying to figure out where to rank Derrick Rose, because he's not worthy of the debate, from an objective viewpoint.
Does anyone on this board think that LeBron in place of Rose on the Bulls would have an inferior team record or would be putting up lesser individual stats? Anyone? I want to make a list of those fools.

Ok.
So let's say that Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant were added to the Bulls roster right now.
Would that make Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, or Kobe Bryant any less valuable than what they actually are? No, no it wouldn't. MVP shouldn't be based on teammates. That's an absurd line of thinking.
Or would you still label Derrick Rose the MVP? :oldlol:
And what criteria is it actually based on? Where's this list of standards that you're getting? Show me where the NBA has ever set forth a list. I think it's just the media on a yearly basis picking whoever the **** they want to keep a debate going to attract interest. There is no actual criteria. Clutch stats...
Where's Rose?
So, you're not looking at it from an objective standpoint. You're just imagining things, and throwing reality out the window.
The only stat in which Rose truly nears the top is field goal attempts. He shoots a lot. So ****ing what? His stats don't rise or stay the same in the clutch. He actually shoots a much poorer percentage.

If you have an all time great on a team full of scrubs, literal scrubs, and they win 41 games, and you have an all-star on a team full of not quite all-star players, and they win 60 games, in no way shape or form is the all-star more valuable or better than the all time great. The Magic are a lottery team without him, you are correct. They don't even have another active C on the roster. On a serious note, even with no other bigs, the award shouldn't be about what a player, Dwight in this case, does for their respective team. It should be about how valuable they actually are. LeBron is a more valuable player to have on your team than Dwight Howard.
Back to Bulls homer thinking... but, but! The fact that the Magic don't have another center on the roster doesn't matter, because the Magic don't have as many wins as the Bulls. The fact that the Bulls have been a better team overall this year means nothing. It just means that Derrick Rose is more valuable and a better player! *rolls eyes*

If thats your criteria that's fine with me, but that's not something that's ever happened in NBA history, except for Moses Malones MVP maybe. A lot of the Derrick Rose MVP hype has a lot to do with what the voters look like. The voters are gonna look at
A) Basic Stats
B) Team record
C) Amount of help/all-stars
D) Nationally televised games
E) Intangibles
I usually like to pick the player that's doing the most for his team, so my pick for MVP is actually Dwight Howard, but he won't get it with the 4th record in the east. My second pick's Rose because of how great he's been in crunch time and how much he's carried the bulls on offense.

11 losses in games decided by six or less, even worse in games decided by 3 or less.
0-7 against Dallas, Boston and Chicago.

All the Non-Chicago fans will say that Lebron should get it because he has the best stats on a team that is currently better record wise than the Bulls.
All the Bulls fans will say that Derrick Rose is the MVP because he has totally changed the Bulls around this year.
And all the people who don't actually watch the Bulls play will say that Rose will be a terrible candidate for MVP due to stats and that Boozer/Deng/bench are totally carrying it for Rose, and fail to realize how much Rose actually does for the team.
Me personally I think Rose will win the MVP but these threads will go on and on in circles and all we can do is wait for the end of the season and see Rose on the TV accepting the MVP award.

LBJ has the better #s and is probably more talented.
But I'd still take Rose 10/10 times. I want to like my players as people and as contributing members of the team. Rose is a great dude, from what I've seen, and a baller.
I'll roll with that.

Oh, I think he will get it. I think the hype train is out of control and there's a bunch of people in the media that need someone new to pick to draw ratings and keep peoples' interest. But that doesn't mean he deserves it. Because, he doesn't.

Above both LBJ and Dwight Howard :lol. He's also top 10, I think.
So, uh. Epic fail.
THE top 3 MVP list (or what it should be) in order: Rose/Dwight/Dirk. Past that it doesn't matter. The fact that the Heat have, technically, two MVP candidates really just means they don't have one real MVP. The Magic suck bad enough and won't seed higher than the Bulls or Mavs so Dwight is probably out because his team is sh*t. Then you have Rose and Dirk who are the clear leaders and engines of top of the conference teams. Easy enough.

Also
For all the Lebron supporters
I want to know when the last time during an MVP race did someone on the same team as the MVP candidate declare that somebody else (on a RIVAL conference team no less) should be the MVP? Like how Bosh and Howard did? Has this ever happened? Usually NBA players would at least be politically correct and say the usual "Yeah they are definitely up there with the other candidates".
If Lebron's own teammates don't feel like he should be the MVP then why should anyone else think so?

You're microwaving the crow you'll be eating come two years in June when Rose will be hoisting the O'Brien and the Russell trophy.

Lebron won 2 MVP's, 2 Rings, 2 FMVP's, and an Olympic gold during which time, Rose was sitting on the bench and eating Skittles.

Haha! I actually don't care much for Lebron, but Lebron >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rose.
BTW, 2 rings and 2 FMVP's. Exposed in the Finals? How about 34.5/11/7.5/2.5 on 47/40/85 in the elimination games, IN THE FINALS.

You forgetting 09? The 09 magic<<<<13 spurs/12 thunder
As a Lebron fan, I've always thought Rose deserved MVP. He had the better record in a worse team.

LeBron is 2-0 in the playoffs vs. Rose and won both series' in 5 games. You make it sound like Rose is a threat to LeBron. :oldlol:

Wow, majority of Bulls fans actually think Rose is better than Lebron... It is now official that the Bulls fans are dumber than the Lakers/Knicks fans. What downright freaking idiots.

This Lebron has continually shit on Derrick Rose throughout his career. It won't be different this upcoming season. What is it that D-Rose shot in against Bron in 2011 6% I think in the 4th? :lol

the heat almost lost to the spurs:roll: the bulls had the best record in the league 2 seasons in a row and we are not a threat to the heat? if rose wasnt a threat to lebron, but he took an mvp award from lebron when he was in his prime and rose was only 22 then i dont know what kind of stan glasses you have on to not consider rose as a threat to a few lebron awards

actually, youre the idiot assuming my opinions represent all bulls fans. and i never said rose was better than lebron, lebron in general is better than rose, but rose has intangibles that lebron doesnt, like not being scared to shoot in pressure situations. yes i know rose performed better than lebron in 2011, but somehow your chicken brain represented that as me saying i think rose is better than lebron, go figure how a dumbass like you could call someone else an idiot.

K cool Rose is better than LeBron in the regular season (even though he's not), LeBron only lost MVP that season cause he was viewed as the villain.

@ nathanjizzle,
Don't care. He hit the shots when it mattered and won the Finals for the Heat. Lebron is second only to Jordan, when it comes to performing in elimination games.
