Which NBA teams need new jerseys?

Simple question.

A lot of people think that the Kings will have to lose the purple when they move to Anaheim so it wouldn't clash with the Lakers purple.

The Nets will likely be changing their jerseys when they move, and the Wizards sound like they will be changing their uniforms this offseason as well.

They aren't even remotely similar in style or design, just color. I like the idea of gold, because gold is the only other color I really associate with kings.

HOWEVER, a name change for the Kings could be perfect for the Nets possible move to Brooklyn. Nothing is really more perfect. Brooklyn is Kings County, so Brooklyn Kings would just be perfect.

I think there are several jerseys that have been so historical for their teams that only minor tweaks should ever be done with them: Bulls, Knicks, Blazers, Celtics, and Lakers (may be another team or two, but those come to mind as jerseys that should remain relatively the same).

I think the Thunder have one of the worst logos of all time in professional sports.

I remember seeing leaks of it on here a couple years back and thinking it was fake and that there was no way an NBA team would sport a logo THAT bad.

Also... the name "Thunder" still sucks. The fact that you can't use it in singular form to describe 1 player should've been their cue not to use it as their team name.

FTR, Wizards are changing their uniforms next year. It was announced before the season started. New owner (who is also owner of the Caps) wants it all red, white and blue for the nation's capital. Caps got it, Nats got it, the Bullets used to have it and the Wiz will have it next season. (Skins got their own longstanding tradition with burgundy and gold.) Still haven't seen for sure what the new uni's will look like.

On a side note, my inside source (and yes I actually have one, believe it or not) says that it's an absolute lock that the Wizards will be going back to the Bullets within three years. He laid out the entire process of how it was going to go down. So far, so good. Prepare for the floods from the tears of joy that will emanate from us DC basketball fans when that happens. Should have never changed the name and definitely shouldn't have let ****ing kids pick the replacement.

What are you talking about? Neither the NBA nor the world pushed the name change. That was entirely on the former owner (now deceased, RIP). He was good friends with the Israeli prime minister (Yitzhak Rabin) who was assassinated in the mid-90's. He changed the name for that reason.

And yes, all your name suggestions suck. Pretty much anything you get that represents the nation's capitol is going to sound like a WNBA team. Us Wiz fans have been over this for years. It's Bullets or bust. And it will be Bullets. Mark my words.

Besides, they still rock throwback Bullets jersey's from time to time and still sell them at the Verizon Center. It's not like it's some taboo thing like you're making it out to be. Hell, Redskins is a 1000 times more offensive.

I agree, and they should return to the old white uniforms from the '70s and '80s as well.

As for teams that could use new uniforms, NOT the Bulls or Celtics. In fact, the Celtics don't need alternates. Nor do a lot of teams. And I like the Cavaliers' current uniforms.

I'd like to see the Rockets return full-time to the red and gold color scheme. They can keep the uniform design they have now. I hope the rumors about the Wizards' impending return to red-white-blue and the Bullets' name are true. The Suns need to drop the gray trim from their uniforms and stick with purple and orange; it's also time for a new uniform design for them. Likewise the Trail Blazers and Pacers need to drop the silver trim from their uniforms; otherwise their uniform designs are okay. And I would not mind seeing the Nuggets return to the royal blue, white, and gold scheme from their late '70s and early '80s uniforms.

Hey, I like those old multi-color neck/shoulder bands. The late '60s-late '90s Lakers uniforms were cool. But most of all, the Lakers' white alternates have got to go. As I said in an earlier post, not all teams need an alternate uniform. Sometimes less is more.

Colors & color combinations can be trademarked just like logos. Using the Miami Hurricanes colors with "MIAMI" printed across your chest is total trademark infringement. There's a reason the Heat don't have those jerseys - it's illegal.

I'm also curious how deep green and orange represent the concept of heat. If anything the jerseys should be a white/black base with red/orange/yellow highlights. THAT would represent "heat" quite well.

i agree with your assessment of the current Heat jersey color scheme, but I don't like your proposal. The green is too dark.

Not so much jersey changes in design and logo, but a lot of teams need new color blockings to make them unique. After the success off the Bulls in the 90's every other team seems to use some form of red. I think the Heat would look cool with Miami Vice / Dolphin teal with white and orange (orange representing flame) ... they would be very distinct and unique. Someone here did a manip a couple months back and it looked so bad ass.

I always feel like that's cheesy when there is art involved. I just like it when they do slight art that isn't huge.
