He missed 9 of his last 11 shots... He and Lebron should do a video on how to miss shots in the 4th quarter..

Don't know if he's "working on his game". He's just putting up shots; could be just a stress reliever thing. I go to the park to put up shots when I'm stressed out and just want to cool off my nerves. From the footage on Sportscenter doesn't seem like he's working on any moves as much as shooting free throws and baseline jumpers in warmups, things he doesn't really need to work on.

He could also be intentionally holding up the team bus to send his teammates a message.

If you read the article on Kobe's visit with Olajuwan, Olajuwan mentions that Kobe's able to make adjustments in his game quickly. Basically any advice that Hakeem had was incorporated within a couple of repetitions of the move. So if anyone is going to be able to get some benefit from a 1 hour practice it's going to be him.

Considering it's all reporters talking about it and reporting on it, they must no see it too often. Also the level of the player and the circumstances surrounding the game, with Kobe losing, and how his opponents handled their tough loses recently makes it a much more interesting event. Kobe needs to work on that IQ rather than his shot. Heaving 30 foot 3 point shots with plenty of time left in the game is just plain stupid and the sad thing is it wasn't the only time he's done that. The smart play would be to get a quick two and put the pressure on Miami's erratic free throw shooters to sink foul shots. Kobe can shoot all the shots he wants after the game. It's not going to make up for those kind of boneheaded plays.

This is all just a show. Hes working on keeping his "hardest worker in the league" image because his "best closer in the game" image took a hit tonight.

Doing weights now or tomorrow wont make any difference. If anything it would be smarter to do it tommorrow because you will be able to put more energy in your workout

Yes i have competed. And i can easily tell you that Kobe was an attention whore. He wouldnt be shooting on Miami's court after the game if there wasnt any cameras around
i know when i lose, i just wanna get right back out there and get at it again. i don't give a fck what anybody thinks especially after a loss as tough as that one. a loss such as that is a killer and no way in hell am i thinking as deeply as u r insinuating kobe is thinking. i'd rather just go home and go to sleep rather than pleasing the media or my boss. kobe got punched in the mouth tonight, he don't give a fck about being a media darling rite now. you're a fcking hater, admit it and move on....

Nice...Kobe is definitely looking forward to the Dallas game. I always said that game is WAY more important than this over-hyped Miami game. Because the Mavs are a team we'll most likely see in the playoffs. Miami is not. They're the Cleveland Cavaliers of last year...beat us twice in the regular season, don't even make it to the finals. We're not seeing them again this year. Mavs look really good right now. Hopefully we can go in there and get a big win, like the one in SA.

I'm with PistonFan on this one. When I saw the footage, the first thing that came to mind was "Kobe is just trying to grab mass media attention to give the impression of him not taking losing easily" It was so contrived and typical Kobe if you understand just a little of his personality.

The fact that he got swept by the team that has been taking all of the attention away from him the past 9 months is killing him right now.

Kobe is about image, he know's the media will be all over this, telling everyone how dedicated he is, how great he is etc etc, but reality is he missed alot of practices, so this is the least he could do.

Bingo. Dude made several atrocious decisions in the clutch tonight and now knows that the media will be all over his shit because of how "dedicated" he is, when in reality this is a completely self-serving display.

As a previous poster said in here, it's not the first time it's happened (i believe it was a jazz fan) and the only difference between a random jazz player doing it and kobe is that the media will jump on it regardless of his intentions.

I saw that on NBA TV and TNT. That loss really hurt Kobe. You tell that this game, against the Heat, meant a lot to him. The dude worked on shooting jumpers and other shots until midnight, according to the LA Times. The team bus left Kobe, not on purpose, so let's not start any silly noise about that. Kobe was really hurting and this was the only place where he felt he could ease the pain. I aint mad at you, Kobe. You are the leader of the Lakers.

I guarantee you he wouldn't have been there if no one was around. ESPN showed that there were plenty of reporters and cameras around.. that's why he did it.

Kobe's not stupid. If he could get to the rim at ease he would. Unfortunately, he's not nearly as athletic or as explosive as he used to be. He's also a shockingly poor finisher within 5 feet, or at least it appears that way. He should really add a floater to his game.

Kobe's not stupid. If he could get to the rim at ease he would. Unfortunately, he's not nearly as athletic or as explosive as he used to be. He's also a shockingly poor finisher within 5 feet, or at least it appears that way. He should really add a floater to his game.

That's what i'm trying to say. Kobe's losing his versatility on scoring.
When his jumpshots aren't falling and the post is clogged , he has no plan-B.
He should work on his finishing ,driving and close range shots.

I would have loved to see peak/prime Kobe owning those 3 clowns.
Wade and LeBron are in they're prime and they barely beat Kobe on age 32/33. Greatness :pimp:

Kobe is probably practicing after the game for a few reasons:

1st- Obviously, after winning 8 in a row, this loss against a contender Miami team with 2 superstars may have affected him. Practicing right away is a way to fight frustration, stress, or whatever it may be, at least for him. Instead of taking his mind off the game, and going for drinks right away, maybe at least in his case, he may want to focus on the basics of the game and what gives him a sense of joy in it.

2nd- It was an important game, even if it was a regular season game. Therefore, in some way he is practicing after a game where he understands in retrospective what his mistakes were while they're still fresh in his mind.

3rd- It might be a way to do his "job" as he said it. It means he understands that he started playing excellent, and then his game deteriorated for different reasons.
Because of this, he may be trying to check for obstacles in his performance. Maybe having a full practice after the game may be his way to check if tiredness is affecting his jump shot, and if it is, then adjust it while he still is in this state. Maybe staying in the same arena that he lost in, is a way to publicly and personally "mark" the territory after a tough loss. Maybe not as effectively as having won the game, but still a way of mostly convincing himself that he can perform at this place.

4th- It may be some kind of "detention" on himself for his bad performance in the second half.

Just my opinion.

Kobe got fouled why should he be working on his jumper?

Kobe's jumper is one of the best in the league its his shot selection that is the problem.. Can't work on that all alone..

To me he is pulling a Lebron and trying to have people forget what happened in the game.. He is bitching about fouls.. That is funny cuz the LAKERS get away with more than anyone when it all matters...

I am all for guys working on their games.. Kobe is by far the hardest worker and that is why I respect his game... But this seems a bit odd to me.. He was taking questions and all.. If it was about his game why is he out there taking all those questions from reporters...

The reporters were flocking to him like seagulls to bread crumbs, what do you want him to do? How do you explain him going to the locker room to work out afterward? Or going to the local courts to make 500 more jumpers? Doubt any reporters are going to be there. :confusedshrug:

It's probably a coping mechanism more than anything. You really think he's going to practice for 3 hours in the middle of the night just for media attention? He ain't LeBron.

problem is his SHOT SELECTION AND SELFISHNESS

instead of putting up shots after the game maybe he can work on his chest pass move. Dust that off for once.

He wants rings, nothing more, nothing less. fck out of here with this jealousy stuff. You mad as fck cause you never been as dedicated to something as Kobe is to winning. You fcking mad!

Do you know what a publicity stunt is? A planned event. No I don't follow Lebron's stunts, I only pay attention to him on the court. Tell me of a planned event in the last couple of months.
