Without watching the video, I will tell you this. In my experience at a university with a decent amount of Asians (I mean the ones that came just for school), they are the most obnoxious people ever in a library.

They find a table, and always slam their bags and books on the table and you look around and everyone is like "Really......you don't see people not making any noise here?"

Or they will make random noises for no reason at all while sitting down.

Ok, just watched the first few bits. Not saying she's not taking it overboard, but one other things she said that's at least true at my university is the talking on cell phones in the library. I swear people at times wanna just take their phones and shove them up their asses. lol

Other people get calls too. And when they do have to take them they either run to a place where you can talk normally or try to talk really quiet and be as quick as possible. But many of the foreign Asians insist on talking like they're outside and remain on the phone for minutes. People are just too polite to say anything.

anyway his pop and mom ran dis lil chinese food joint down by the corner. we use to bus his @ss down there to get us sum dim sum everyday. chinese bbq ribs, fried chicken, and beef and brocolli wit no brocolli etc, dat type of shit

dis goes on for like 2 or 3 years. then one day dis slanty eye mutha decides he's had enuff. he comes to our corner and said in this broke engrish "u use forks I use chopstix but we all eat rice. we all same in the inside"

so dat nite me and my homies rolled up do his joint and put bout 400 lead pieces into dat restuarant.

But most Americans come off in this manor but I don't go into an uproar and want to prank call them or label them racist. I can't count how many times i've gone into an asian owned store and have some litttle asian lady follow me around and have me think to myself "why would they put a store in a black neighborhood yet not trust black shoppers?", but even then I don't think their racist, it's just bad experiences may have led to a somewhat ignorant mindset.

This girl's comments about Japan and mocking of languages was ignorant. But her initial frustration came from some place that was not racist, but simply frustration about the conditions where gets her education. But I singled them out too. Now I didn't say the other things she did. Only touched on the noise in the library because I believe in my experience in my school's library it to be true.

I'm not defending her other comments or anything, but I think I have an understanding of where she's coming from as far the being obnoxious in the library thing. So from my end I will give her a pass on that issue alone as far as her being racist or not.

I saw it for 5 years. Everyone else trying to be as respectful as possible with some exceptions of course, but that one segment of the demographic would just refuse to be considerate. It didn't make me hate them or anything, but it was an annoyance for sure.

It's just an isolated incident but I was on my way to my department's lab to work on a project one time. There's this one asian guy I always see around that walked through the doors in front of me. I was literally right behind him. And through both doors, he didn't leave the door open either time. Just opened it enough for his little body to walk through and that was it. Then he gets in the elevator to go to the 2nd floor. Are you ****ing kidding me? Use the ****ing stairs.

That's mind boggling to me. The deal is earlier in the year I saw him asking me and a few other people to use our access cards to get into the computer labs in separate incidents. The nice, texan fellow I am obliged and let him in. You think after seeing the kindness of the Texan students, you'd want to reciprocate that action. But no. That guy just didn't get it.

And many foreign and international students do that. It was just that one clueless guy. I don't get it.

But seriously, FOB asians are the worst drivers out there.

And international students need to learn the custom of taking a shower EVERY DAY. This is without a doubt something I only see among international students (primarily african and asians).

1. noise in groups and talking on phones - totally valid. it may be annoying but we lived in a culture where it's normal so we're kind of oblivious or unaware others maybe bothered by it. if you're annoyed by it, be prepared to tell off the person. we Asians in general can take a hint pretty well and will not be offended if told off to be silent. more precisely, almost all of us would be shamed to our core if we got publicly scolded.

2. about dependency on parents - it's not really real dependency. just close family ties. you westerners are cold as ice when it comes to family ties. the moment you hit 18, you are thrown out of your own homes. it's just not like that in Asian cultures. family is very important. even if the kid knows how to cook his own food or take care of himself, he accepts the attention and care of his parents because refusing or rebuffing it would result in butthurtedness of awesome proportion. if they stop to visit, they would be accused of being an ingrate or not loving the parents anymore, yada, yada.

3. about being good in academics - Asians only have this perception because usually the ones who make it in the West are the ones who have brains. most who get into college in the West get in because of a scholarship. so they will naturally be brainy. then the rest who are not innately geniuses are just hard workers. there's more pressure for an Asian kid to perform well in school, so even if they're not that brainy, they will excel simply from being a hard worker. i'm sure other students would excel too or even exceed Asians if they even work half as hard as Asians when it comes to studying.
